Yes you're right @itsmehere1. While I am not fully agree with your supposing it is indeed well pointed. It shouldn't be said this way 'better than the original' cause it sounds more like an advertising message to attract viewers, which in fact might sure be... As any person in the world has a unique DNA as well as any artist has its unique voice, skills and stamp, if I can say so. A cover should never be judged as 'better than the original' but instead for the artist personal approach on it. If it will be liked more than the original by the public of the cover time this doesn't mean the original it's worst, it was just made for the generation of the original artist whom if would wrote that song for this generation might have been writing it in the same manner as the actual cover because of the generation or maybe music market demands.
Another point of view is that to take a song and 'make it yours' it require a real professionalism of the artist. That artist must have the music in blood and some decent experience at least to go to that level.
So I only can say congratulations to all artist who were selected for this video!
(*even though I don't like myself the video title..the second half of it would been enough!)

They don't have to be, the point is to showcase their voice and how you can work with a songwriter's idea and verses and make it your own.

give a different dynamic to popular songs, aim is to take it away from the original artist - u create your own style, if its great (that song space u created will be remembered for a long time).

"Unique covers of song" by itself would have been a better title. In zero way can you question whether these were better than the original.

The practice of one coach 'blocking' another coach is ridiculous and should be stopped. Acts perform on the show hoping, amongst other things, to get the opportunity to work with a professional that they admire and respect. This hope is dashed by a coach 'blocking' the coach that the act wanted to work with. Ridiculous! That practice should be binned!
I agree! Germany never had the block button before now that they have different judges Voice Germany now has the block button. It is not fair
I think the block is great it adds to the game. And they always have the stiel. Later. And the stiel means they want you bad nothing wrong with that.
