    I've used a couple of these 30kg fat bikes from China from Eahora/Paselec, Samebike, and Fiido. I love riding them they can take harsh punishment from terrible road conditions and just keep going. If I had some more cash I'd upgrade the cadence sensor into a torque sensor and replace the suspensions for something way better.
    Its fun seeing these E-bikes be available to other countries. Electric is the future, zero emissions environment friendly.
    made me store my car for a while now, I only ever use my car for very long travel and heavy groceries.

    Eilis I have a Mate X 750 and use it daily to commute for work. Over 18 months I drove it for nearly 7K miles and enjoyed every single one. One suggestion is to put the Tannus Armour anti poncture for both tyres to make your ride safer and even more comfortable. Cheers

    But they still don't offer a rear luggage rack - and it's very tricky to fit a rack to this MATE ebike because of the unusual rear suspension. To be a serious means of transport bikes need to have a rear rack. Transport is about moving people and stuff. And only buffoons carry loads in backpacks on their shoulders when on bikes/ebikes.

    I've owned the City and now own the X 750. Both are great bikes, the City was a bit small for me personally (6'1") but still works well if you're limited on space or need to carry it around. It's also small enough to easily fit in pretty much all car trunks when folded up. Does around 28 km/h on a full charge.
    The X 750 is way more sturdy for faster speeds though, and does 40+ km/h easily with a full charge. But you don't wanna carry the X up stairs etc, or carry it at all really. But it still fits in many car trunks when folded. The only thing I'm missing is a twist throttle as the thumb throttle is a bit awkward imo, and tbh with this much power & weight you're not gonna be pedaling

    Mine is up for sale as I’m getting a VanMoof S3… can’t really justify having 2 ebikes. Having said that, it is a great bike and loads of fun to ride. I do find it to heavy to commute with and when you run out of juice, peddling it is near impossible…

    Beware - as long as the Mate bike rides, it is perfect, but when something goes wrong with the electronics, you will never get any support, no advice, no nothing. Maybe some empty promises at the beginning, but then an absolute radio silence lasting weeks. When they really should offer some practical help, they turn absolutely irresponsive, you just (repeatedly) get a message your (repeated) mails have been registered, and this is it.
    So, all in all, you pay for several months of fun in the beginning, and then you are stuck with an over-over-overpriced normal, and due to the motors and other components, very heavy and bulky, non-electric bike (with two such bikes, in my case).
    A big disappointment ...

    This bike was really easy to assemble czcams.com/users/postUgkxMesz3KOGEmwmvyKQfLfrRSUXLFzfVHZA and required very few adjustments out of the box. The wheels did not require any truing/adjustments. The frame had some small scratches, but nothing major.I did replace the seat though - the seat it came with was very uncomfortable. The tires need to be re-inflated every 4-5 days, but this appears to be quite common for the narrow 700x25 tires.Overall, in my opinion, this bike looks and rides like a much more expensive bike.

  • @robba1234
    @robba1234 Před 2 lety

    Love the channel, but "affordable"? sorry like most imported bikes to the UK are overpriced, sorry but Halford's "assemble" hybrid bikes and mark them up to this price point and yes I think these are better (in some ways) from that, but equivalent bikes for between £700-£900 are and have been about for quite a while. The US Lectric XP almost identical to these with great reviews can be bought through European re-sellers and we in the UK due to Pandemic bike sales and profiteering from the electric bike boom are being overcharged (no pun intended) but it's nice to see new bikes coming on.
    Electric small EV's are great and once the UK gets legislation sorted it could be the way ahead
