What a fantastic video. I tried it with MS word and it worked perfectly. subscribing to your channel is paying off. Thanks Kevin for doing this. you're awesome !
OK this is going to be one of the most useful tools that I have found in all my life as a dyslexic it becomes tiring to type all the time especially since I am studying at the university thank you Kevin
hey Kevin,i see that it is an online function, wich means,it store voice clips on their servers, people shouldnt be surprised that hackers can use these voice clips and AI to fool someone to extort money, this is already happening, and would be made easier if they can grab how you talk from microsoft servers,as long as voice commands/speech typing isnt local i wont be activating/using this i would use the offline Dragon NaturallySpeaking instead, wich uses the following method: The hidden Markov model breaks down spoken words into their phonemes, while recurrent neural networks use the output from previous steps to influence the input to the current step. no voice clips are sent via internet
I've been meaning to incorporate this into my workflow. I saw a video a while back using Google Voice Typing, what stood out to me was the ability to edit with your keyboard in conjunction with the STT. It looked like a smart way to work; I need to revisit these features.
I'm thrilled to have found it just in time to explain it to someone who used to have a secretary but now has to type on their own. The work is excellent. I've always said that if you tell me about jumping off a cliff, I might not do it right away, but I'll at least check how high it is.
Looking forward to a complete video on Voice Acess. You can get number labels for everything and just say the number to click on any desired object in an app or on a web page. Great for people with disabilities but can be useful for anyone or if you're mouse or keyboard is for some reason not accessible.
There still issues with many words 1) Similar words issue - end/and phase/face 2) The commands are also not working and this definitely needs some growing
おはようございますケビンさん素晴らしい機能の紹介をいただきありがとうございました。日本語でもこの機能は使えました。ありがとうございました。感謝 いたします! Good morning Kevin.Thank you very much for introducing this wonderful feature. This function is also available in English.Thank you very much!
Thanks, Kevin Useful as ever. We are working on a combination of narration and voice commands so that someone who is visually impaired can read a Word document back and stop and correct it as they go using voice commands. The dictation and narration are working well, now we are layering on the Windows voice commands, where your video has come in useful. Combining them all to revise text entirely by voice command is challenging.
I am making this comments using voice recognition I really enjoyed watching this video I hope to start using the set work specially special with Microsoft Excel.
We used to do that with OS/2 back in the 90's, which had VoiceType Dictation built in. It was ok once trained, but talking in an office makes no sense at all. It's a cute idea, but as impractical in a work setting as using voice-to-text on my iPhone.
As someone with an accent, dictation is not very kind to me lol. I constantly have to rewrite a lot of the sentences. I do realize this is a “me” issue, and it probably does not apply to everyone. Ty for the video :).
I remember messing with Windows 7 dictate, and from what I recall it has to be trained. Meaning the more you use it, the better it gets at recognizing your voice.
@@SuperStarTidus18 this was maybe 2 years after Win 7 came out before I learned that it had this function, so 2011 - 2012 maybe? I have Win 10 now but haven't used dictate in it. I imagine it improved greatly in Win 10 vs 7. Find more videos on YT about it and play around with it more and see if it improves. I might open it up later tonight and see how it works now since I haven't messed with it in a decade. I'll let you know my results later on.
when you said "oatmeal raisin", i was like "this guy 's choice in cookies SUCK"...then you said "delete last line"....and i'm like, OK, he's cool again :)
HI Kevin - can you maybe one day do a video on how to use "Polling" in an email? So many people have different ways to do this, but I'm sure, with your knowledge and expertise that you will be able to articulate and explain it better than the rest!!
Thank you, Kevin. That was wonderful and I am so eager to learn more by watching your videos. I was able to leave a comment using my voice. I am so excited.
Hello. I’ve learned so much from your Videos. Would you be able to tell help me? I often use Excel to type pack lists and sometimes, these list are quite large. Is there a way that I can use a microphone in Excel soI can speak into rather then me having to type the information out?
Kevin wonderful video I truly love getting your short tips and tricks on Windows 10 and computers. You have a wonderful presentation voice thanks again and keep up the good work.
Excellent demonstration! This could eliminate the need to hire a secretary. Amazing how far technology has come. I have this tool on windows 10, I tried but it only got to the `thinking` stage and sort of got stuck. I`m going to upgrade to windows 11 and try again.
Nice tutorial... thanks! But did this function recently change? I now get a bar instead of box! (I would like to have back the box like in the tutorial. I am helping a half-blind senior... this function is very helpful but then new bar is too invisible.)
This is great, can you use it for taking notes or recording audio coming from the browser? I am on windows 10, and it is silencing the PC while recording, can this be toggled? Should I just copy and paste this into Chat-GPT?This is great, can you use it for taking notes or recording audio coming from the browser? hi Kevin. I was just looking for feature where i can dictate calculation. like 331.78+456 equals” and hoping that it will calculate result. how can i do that?
I have tried Google docs through bing - it does type when I dictate fast and is accurate except for excessive period usage at every pause Used Google docs through chrome - it does pick up punctuation; however, it keeps missing what i say and i have to dictate extremely slow and also not so accurate MS word dictate - similar to Google docs through chrome but better in terms of accuracy and does not miss none of these actually help me with my role as transcriptionist, so have to rely on hands only when I need to meet targets

is there a wireless mic i can get that works with voice-to-text on my phone? i got one off amazone, bluetooth lavalier and it works, but not with the voice-to-text. help!
Hey Kevin thank you so much for your videos. It is a handy tool but for the life of me I can't figure out a couple of things that really stand in the way of my using it more often. For example I can't figure out how to turn off the annoying beeping sound in the beginning and the end of the recording. Because I use headphones and this sound pierces my ears so much, it's almost unbearable. Another thing I wanted to ask you about this tool is if there is a way to tune it up so it doesn't switch off in pauses. Every once in a while I need to take a pause to think about my further dictation but that's \when the tool switches off and I have to turn it back on again and start the process it's really annoying and if there's a way to adjust those settings and you know how to do it I would really appreciate it I would really appreciate either comment or maybe even separate 5 minute video; I'm sure the settings like that exist it's just that I cannot get to it neither through my own research nor through asking AI. I use Windows 10 though ; My machine it's kind of old and will not allow me to upgrade to windows 11. Can you help?
yeah, but... would be nice if for ANY input field (facebook messenger for example) you could just hit a key and start talking for input, then release key
Aww Google docs doesn't have that option anymore, nether under the tools menu, and nether when you press the Key combinations of CTRL+SHIFT+S keys. Today is June 16 2023.
Hi Kevin, What about Windows Speech Recognition in the Windows 10 'Ease of Access folder' in the Windows folder area? Isn't that more similar to W11 than anything in Google?
Hey, is there something actually in reverse, what can it read and the voice can be used as voiceover for CZcams, but something what CZcams won’t say as it’s a google voice and rejects the monetized option ??

Great video Kevin, very clear and comprehensive, without fluff.
Looks very powerful, but I still think traditional inputs are faster. This level of functionality on mobile on the other hand would be a game changer
