Puppy whining in the crate can be very hard to bear and it can also make the new owner's life miserable. I hope this series of videos can give viewers confidence in training their puppy positively without using force but with attention and companionship in getting the new puppy use to its new safe bed in the crate.
Many years ago I have had dogs when I was younger without using a crate. It was great. It was suited for my lifestyle at the time. Now having large, active, powerful, and can be dominant breeds living inside the house with elderly, toddler, children, and my work I have decided to use crate and t is one of the best tools to keep the puppy, family members, and house assets safe. The crate is great for sleeping and short time resting during the day. It is not a cage to keep your dog in for a long period of time. Dogs do need a lot of companionships and playtime, these will help with crate training in the evenings too

Update on Ace - I have gotten him involved in playing some of the games czcams.com/users/postUgkx1_veP7CApJK_GWy_TczaMciuG64PqJeU and I can see a difference in his confidence already! My other dog played along and he became intrigued - now its a daily part of our routine - about 3 times a day we do the shell game and the muffin tin game. I am so grateful for coming upon your training techniques!

Thank you for making this video! I’m a first time dog owner and those first few nights of putting my dog in the crate and hoping for the best literally had me questioning if I made the right decision to bring a dog into my home. I can say that after trying this method, it WORKS! A week later and my dog and I are sleeping soundly. Thanks again!

This helps in more ways than you can imagine. It is great for both you and your pup. A small speaker/player that plays special healing frequencies and relaxing music for pets. It's amazing how all animals respond to this in relaxation and pure contentment. No more anxiety. No more fear from thunder, and lightning.
Many animals are stressed when they go to the veterinarian's office. Stressed pets create stressed owners and stressed veterinary staff! Wholetones is our #1 tool for relaxing not just the pets, but the pet parents. As an integrated veterinarian, I seek to avoid sedative drugs, preferring safe, natural solutions. My go-to solution is Wholetones. I have seen aggressive animals become calm and tolerate handling without needing muzzles or sedatives. We have also been successful using Wholetones for thunderstorm anxiety and separation anxiety. So grateful to Michael Tyrrell for discovering this gift and sharing it with the pet community.

There's so much conflicting or otherwise unhelpful information about puppies in the first few nights in the crate, "if they whine excessively you're doing it wrong" vs "let them whine it out" vs "if they try to bite the cage there may be something wrong", this worked in 5 minutes, I was shocked when my puppy fell asleep and wasn't whining, your video deserves more recognition!

I like this one. I understand a polite approach to training puppys,
But sometimes some trainers are TOO nice. Some puppys will misbehave while training, so Here he simply states a rule, and waits until she/he understands. Its not the "Constant Reward" type training, but it also doesn't involve physical abuse. I like this!

This video has helped my Husband and I alot with our 8 week old Aussie Mini Mix that we just got on a few days ago, he had never been crated before and would immediately start yelping when we latched the door to his cage but with this technique he settled down in about a half hour, slept for 4.5 hours, I walked him and then took him back up to his crate and did the technique for about 10 mins and hes out like a light again. Thank you so much for a great video that really works!

This technique is legitimately life-changing!!! If anyone is struggling with a crying/barking puppy in the crate, TRY THIS! It shockingly works so well. It takes patience - 2 days of doing it and I still need to do it almost every time we put the puppy (6 months, rescue) in the crate but the amount of time it takes for him to lie down is getting less and less. I think in another week or 2 he will be fully crate trained without any resistance, crying or barking! THANK YOU!

WHOAH THIS WORKED!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!
I have a 5-month old puppy. And I had the crate for almost 2 weeks now. He was comfortable going in and out of the crate but was extremely noisy when I caged him at night. He just wouldn't stop barking and whining for around 3 hours!!
But tonight, I decided to put him in the crate using your method and it worked!!! I also placed a chew toy to avoid boredom. His noise was lessened to about 90%, and he is COMPLETELY silent by now! Btw, I used Zak George's method at first, just to make him comfortable with the crate:)))

This sounds like the exact position that I am in right now. I adopted two puppies and crate train them separately at different times. I used Zak George's method and only one of the pups is okay to sleep at night in their crate and cries only when they need to go out to pee/poo. The other one cries for hours on end. It's only been a week and I'm running out of ideas for the pup who cries. Hopefully this will help me like it did with yours. Any tips or what to expect other than what's in the video already?

Valery Ravera Well, actually my pup still cried for hours. When I typed the comment, he already stopped. But after like 2-3 hours, he barked again, so I went out did his method, and it was kinda difficult. Because I need to go and check him out, then open and close the door. :(

I got the mom's scent on the Snuggle Puppy when I picked up my pup . The Snuggle Puppy really calms, relaxes and comforts the pup, and she did not whine at all.

He got the idea pretty fast, only had to do it one time. I didn't have to go back and repeat. He only whined for about 15 minutes the first night and doesn't whine at all anymore when it's bedtime. AMAZING!!!!

This method is seriously amazing! We have a 16-week-old rescue pup. The first four nights we did not get much sleep. We had her crate in our room, and practiced getting her acclimated to it during the day. She was fine entering for the night (we initially kept the door open), but she would come and check if we were still here about six times a night. Tonight we practiced this before bed and she yipped for only fifteen minutes, and she has been sleeping a solid 4 hours already! yay :) thanks so much

OMG! Thank you thank you thank you . I searched this out of desperation last night, found your video, and it worked IMMEDIATELY! My 8 week old puppy (we've had her for 4 days) slept for 3 hrs afterwards then cried. I took her out to pee, brought her back in, and repeated it twice in 1 hr and she slept though the night until we woke her coming downstairs. You're a sleep saver thank you! No more waking my kiddos up with her very LOUD crying/howling. Also, I took your note and covered her crate with a towel and gave her a treat everytime she laid down with the crate door open then I closed it and went to bed. 😁❤

I only put my goldendoodle in his crate when i leave the house because he is still kind of young and I dont trust him just yet. He sleeps with me every night in my bed and is very well behaved throughout the night. He has only gone to the bathroom in the house twice and both incidents happened within a couple days of him coming home with me for the first time and He hasn't since. I think it all depends on the type of dog you have and how obedient he is.

    • @PawVlogs
