    Flintstones was originally a Thursday evening prime-time show, one of the first (if not THE first) prime-time cartoons.

      @13thwho Před 8 měsíci +1

      “The Flintstones” originally aired Friday nights at 8:30. In 1964, it moved to Thursday nights at 7:30; then mid-season it moved to Friday at 7:30, replacing “Jonny Quest”, which took over the Thursday 7:30 slot.

    As much as I love the fully orchestrated arragements of a lot of these kids show themes, and almost envy the people who got to hear the earlier stuff fresh; all those killer horn sections, vocal harmonies, big band arrangements etc (I was born in 71), I absolutely love that crazy thing written for rubarb and custard... I think it appealed to the loopy, goofy kid I was at the time.

    Memory Lane . Does ANYBODY remember a cartoon series that was hosted by a white haired mustache toting little dude with a time machine like device that he yanked on like a slot machine to show us historical cartoons? It was usually presented in cohesion with the Spiderman and/or Rocket Robinhood series at the time. Although burned into my memory I have not seen a trace of it since my childhood. If anyone does remember and knows the name of this program please share.
