At the end of the day, it's lazy writing. With the amount of dramas being pumped out every year, they're basically being mass produced. There are choices of good writing, that's why the ones that are live action of successful novels make it out better. But they generally insert these types of conflicts in a story to drag it out for more profit. You can still make money with good content. Just depends on how the demand from audience is expressed.
I love this drama, one of the best in the rise of it's genre, doesn't mean there can't be improvements.
That is why LOVE O20 is the best chinese drama.
