Only thing left to do after the Hall is to finally accept my invitiation to join my beer league softball team in the Twin Cities.
One of the saddest days was this man retiring
Congratulations to Joe Mauer
Build the statue
One can only dream of having something like this said about them. Im a lifetime NY Mets fan but Joe Mauer made the Twins my American league team. Somewhere Mickey Mantle is smiling as he approves of you wearing that iconic #7. The sweetest swing..
I saw Mauer's whole career. From when he made his debut when I was 8 to when he retired when I was 23. One of my all time favorites. I still get teary eyed watching his final game. We love you Joe!
I got chills
Thoroughly GOATED
Only 79 % that's an insult it should have been at least 90%
76.1%. Getting in the first ballot is hard.
@cronoesify with his percentage vote despite the numbers he put in his career it makes him look like someone who barely got in
He didn't have the stats to back it up.
Joe says "chill TF out Janelle".
@@janellemaynaitI completely disagree. Especially considering how many people refuse to vote for first ballot players. First ballot hall of farmers are considered the best of the best.
Mauer was a legend. We respected and feared him in Detroit. Well deserved.
G.O.A.T No7 Joe
🔥🔥🔥
he's a perfect human being
👍 Mornie.
76% in his first ballot...
I’m not crying …it’s you
Damn I feel like MLB the show has to give this man some sort of special edition 😭
He is Mr Twin just like Kirby Puckett
Chingon
Yeah this made me cry baseball bros, you have no idea how much shit minnesota put this man through.
Suck it Minnesota this is why you never have nice things.
Resign Kirk.
At least Kirk has won a playoff game.
0-10 in playoff games.
I’m glad he’s in the HOF. But Minnesota deserves chips. And a star who can bring one is always better than one who didn’t, even if he’s from my hometown.
That’s why I like Puckett more than Mauer and always will. Chips mean the world.
But happy for Mauer.
@@Cinerary Mauer was part of the 2004 playoff team. So he has a playoff win.
ONE career playoff RBI…. He was a good singles hitter with no slugging. He also spent half of his career playing as a well below average 1st baseman but one of the highest paid players in the league.
Kirby Puckett was a TRUE Minnesota legend, leading his team to two WS victories. Joe dwindled to nothing in the postseason.
If you’re a Minnesotan, shame on you. Instead of enjoying his greatness, you’re undermining it. I promise you, no matter how many times you comment “he never performed in the playoffs” you won’t convince anyone he’s not HOF worthy. If you talked to any player that played against him, they would agree he’s more than deserving of the HOF. Stop being an old fogey
And yet... He got voted into HOF by BBWAA.
Lay off the Hateraide.
You should change your name to cancerous ray of sunshine
Only catcher with 3 batting titles UNHEARD OF probably will never happen again, hit .365 for his MVP season which is absolutely unheard of at the catcher position, 3 time gold glove winner, 5x silver slugger, an absolute machine when it came to getting in base.
He only appeared in 10 playoff games that’s due to the team and management around him.
Kirby may have the better post season resume, but Joe Mauer skill wise is the greatest hitting catcher of this modern era. And you make make a case he’s the greatest catcher of all time all around hitting and catching combined. Him and Posey as all around players are right there together, Buster will be a first ballot as well I’m sure.
