- Hello, hello, hello! And welcome to our very first full time van life video! We have FINALLY hit the road. For this adventure we headed to an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty here in England called Teesdale.
Sandwiched between Yorkshire and Durham, this gorgeous part of the North Pennines running along the River Tees is a haven for outdoor lovers and adventure enthusiasts.
We managed to find plenty of stunning park up spots without any trouble, which eased a lot of our newbie vanlife nerves and we had the best time.
There’s also a blog post on our website with lots more detail on all the best things that we got up to in Teesdale, including visiting Low and High Force waterfalls. Click here to check it out: thewholeworldornothing.com/up...
Thanks for watching! If you enjoyed this episode don’t forget to smash the thumbs up & make sure to subscribe so you don’t miss where we’re headed next.

Have you done any videos of you cooking in the van. Would love to see a meal prepared and what it’s like cooking in a small space
I found y’all by simply watching people make the vans into home and I’m glad I found y’all. Both of you have such a lovely characters.
Thank you very much, you’re very kind 😊
It’s nice to be up to date on the build videos and see you enjoying the van!
Great stuff. There’s plenty more to come! 😀👍
Seriously good chuckle at your choice of location. Excellent video. I’m loving watching your build videos. You’re not lost you just changed your mind on where you wanted to be.
Firstly, we absolutely LOVE your van. This was such a great vlog - we enjoy your humour and the hikes were stunning 😍 Thanks for sharing and we look forward to your next road trip
Ah thank you so much, we really appreciate it 😊 and yes, the hikes were incredible! Catch you next time, thanks for watching 😁
Loved your video. Looking forward to seeing more. X
Ah thank you, we really appreciate it 😁
Yesss please, keep posting.... I miss my UK days....
We will! Did you used to live here?
@@TheWholeWorldorNothing a Whitstable... Newcastle.... London... 😂
Oh wow! All over the country then. You probably know it better than us 🤣
Enjoyed this tour of Teesdale. You have given us some ideas of new places to visit, especially those waterfalls. Although you are a lot fitter than us, I don’t think we could cope which such long walks day after day 😁 Look forward to the next video, safe travels.
Thanks guys, glad you enjoyed it. There’s definitely so much to do there! The waterfalls are a must 😀 so beautiful 🤩
Loved this video! So many amazing walks to be had up there, I miss that green British scenery!
Thank you ☺️ Yeah the walking was incredible, we definitely do a good line in green rolling hills. But I think we’re definitely more envious of your scenery 😅
If you're tired you're tired, who cares what time it is ! and it looks so cosy in the van 😉
Great vlog, I look forward to your travels 👍🏻
Try and watch the tv docs on Hannah, interesting life she lead.
Yeah absolutely, we were in bed pretty early that night 😀
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. We haven’t gotten round to watching the documentaries yet but we definitely will, we found her story absolutely fascinating.
New subscriber here.
You guys are super underrated!
Love the content and hope you keep it up. 😍❤️
Ah thank you, great to have you on board 😊
Great first vlog guys .. 👍🏻☺️
Ah thank you, glad you enjoyed it 😁
Ooh I’m excited that I found you now right at the start of your journey :-)
We’re excited to have you on board! 😀
I know you probably already know this but when you are following the yellow arrows they are pointing in roughly the direction to the next yellow arrow. So walk off into the direction the arrows are roughly pointing. Also been loving the van build series.
Yeah for some reason we often still struggle to find the next one, we’re reasonably experienced walkers too 😅 Must just be us! Glad you’re enjoying the van build, thanks for watching 👍😀
Great vid guys, plenty of info, laughs, can’t wait til my van is ready. Don’t change anything, keep it real. Hopefully one day get to meet you both. 👍
Ah thank you, that’s really nice of you to say. How far along are you now? Would be great to meet up in the future 😀
@@TheWholeWorldorNothing The kitchen is in, shower is cladded. Just services and Truma water heater to connect and odd ends like bits of carpeting cladding so pretty close.
Oh wow that’s really close! Sounds like just one final push and you’ll be out enjoying the sunshine in it in no time 😀
Wicked sense of humour. Very clever intro
Thanks a lot! 😀
I absolutely loved this video!! Keep them coming 🙌🏽✨
Thanks so much sis 😄
Really good filming on your walk. Swapping the camera to film each other really works and keeps it real. 👍😎
I always cringe when you see a couple walking away from the camera when you know they going to have to go back for the camera, it looks so false.
Well done guys.
Haha we’re far too lazy for that 😅 We quite often walk at slightly different paces or take a detour if one of us is photographing or looking at something so it gives us plenty of opportunity to film the other person and, as you say, means we don’t have to run back off for the camera.
Thanks for watching 😀
Glad you enjoyed the North East guys, you packed absolutely loads into this video, fabulous video I loved it, thank you xx
We absolutely loved it and will definitely be back! We’re so happy you enjoyed it, just hope we did it justice 😅 Also do let us know if you have any other ideas of places to visit next time we’re there 😊
@@TheWholeWorldorNothing If your coming further north into God's country - Northumberland there is Craster for the Kippers with a short walk to Dunstanburgh Castle, then Warkworth with it's beautiful Castle, then literally 2 or 3 miles down the road is Amble I could go on..... Looking forward to your next video, take care xx
Oooh, you might just enjoy our next video then, we did make it to a few of the places you’ve mentioned 😀 Not sure if that will be next week or the week after that we put it out though.
Absolutely brilliant guys, the van looks amazing, loved the video
Ah thank you so much, we really appreciate the feedback and glad you enjoyed it 😁
Hi guys, I have been watching the van building. So, I am wondering if you guys going to put up the rest of the videos? Showing the rest of the van building?
I am from New Zealand. And about to buy a van and do the same thing. So, I have taken many ideas from you guys. Good stuff. 👏🏻
Hi! Yes, we’re absolutely carrying on with the van build videos on Sundays as usual but will also be doing travel ones as well. There’s not a schedule for the travel vids yet, just as and when we manage to put them together and they will probably go out on Wednesdays for the time being.
That’s so exciting you’re about to get a van! We imagine New Zealand must be a fantastic country for travelling in one. Is it a sprinter you’re going for as well?
So glad we’ve given you some ideas and please let us know if you have any questions we might be able to help with 😀
Lovely vlog. With all the VanLifers on CZcams, why has no one visited the village where all creatures great and small was filmed. I hope someone gets there some day. You guys are doing great. Fun to hang with. Cheers from Canader eh!
Ah thank you. And we have, we have, we have! We went to “Herriot land” last year but we didn’t film it. It’s beautiful around there but we hadn’t finished the van and just weren’t making videos at that stage. Maybe we’ll head back that way to do a vlog about it 😀
Come and see hardraw waterfall its 100ft waterfall. Pop in and see us at the green dragon inn and we have free parking at the back for you to stay.
That sounds fantastic! We’ll 100% come and visit Hardraw when we get the chance, we just googled it and it looks stunning 😀
Welcome to the North East guys!
Thank you! We absolutely loved it 😀
High Force, Bleaback Force and 18:08 Air Force :-)
Haha brilliant! 😂😀
Should have gone to supersavers 😂 Inspired.Great video, very entertaining. Enjoy your vanlife
Gosh I've got lots of binge watching
You’re going right back through our back catalogue 😅 Welcome on board and hope you’re enjoying them! ❤️❤️
Leekworth campsite Middleton in Teesdale is great
Ooh we’ve not heard of that one - thanks for the tip 😀
Great walk, done it a few times :)
Yeah agreed, it's absolutely stunning!
welcome to the north east guys if your still about roseberry topping is a briliant place to come and a camp site close by too xxx
Thank you! We’ve left already unfortunately but we absolutely loved it so we’re already planning our return trip 😀 We’ll note roseberry topping down for when we come back 🙌
@@TheWholeWorldorNothing yeah come further to the hambleton side of Yorkshire and there is loads more to see as well, kildale etc x
Great stuff, we’ll get it on the list 😀 We’ve spent a fair amount of time on the coast out that way in Pickering and Whitby etc but never really explored Hambleton so that’s quite exciting!
The Reality of full time Van life is certainly different to the Social media nonsense haha!
You’re not wrong there! 😅
I'm so gassed for you guys, I'm very envious that you can both drive, I'm always "desi driver" 🤣
What do you use to source your walking routes?
Haha that’s a raw deal mate! It’s definitely nice to be able to take a day off.
We tend to find the walks from all sorts of walking websites, quite often local groups. Then we use maps.me to navigate.
So amazing guys. How can I donate?
Thank you 😊 We don’t have a way to donate! But thank you for thinking of us, we really appreciate it 😀
@@TheWholeWorldorNothing WHAT ? No paypal, Venmo, cash app, patreon , amazon wishlist, only fans ??? What kind of social media influencers are you guys ??????
Only fans 😂 Honestly we just appreciate you watching and the support at this stage 😊
@@TheWholeWorldorNothing you are most welcome. I love watching the “life for free in a rv” script.
😆
Thanks you two what’s your long term plans, will you be hitting Europe when it opens up ?
Yes we certainly hope so! We have family and friends in Spain so that’s quite high up on the list. But we’re open to anywhere if you’ve got any good tips!
@@TheWholeWorldorNothing I used to have a house near Bergerac in France, beautiful scenery, loads of sunshine and wine !
Oooh that sounds great. You had us at sunshine and wine! Another place for the list 😅 thank you
Hi , I plan on doing a video giving a shout out to home self build van channels I’m following.
If it ok with you guys I’d love to give you a shout out on it ?
hold on... last video I saw from you two just a few days showed you still in the early stages of building your van -- now you're out and about in it! Did I somehow miss several episodes?
Haha, no you didn’t miss any episodes but you may have missed our van tour which was the first video we put out in the van build series! We have gone about it a bit bassakwards because even though we filmed our van build last year we just didn’t have time to edit and stuff as we went along so we’re only just putting those videos out now. And now that we’re able to travel in it we’ve decided to do videos of that at the same time. Hopefully that makes a bit more sense now 😅
We visited one of the large, manor houses in Leeds (sorry, I can't remember the name) and found out that they had also profited from the slave trade and profited again when the British Government paid them to give up their slaves. The entrance fee was around £16 pp
We refuse to visit any of these large houses anymore, anywhere in the UK without looking up the history of the house plus the history of who owned the house before we make a decision to visit or not.
It’s a bit hard to swallow such a high entrance fee when they’re still owned by the same families that profited the equivalent of millions. But unfortunately it limits where you can go quite a bit in the UK! We’d be a lot happier if they just acknowledged it but for obvious reasons they usually try to keep it hidden.
7:03 Yikes. A whole family died at 21, 38 and 29 years old. I wonder what story lies behind this tragedy. Who knows... 😢
