The Stranger is Saruman, not Gandalf. Everything is good in the beginning, Saruman included. I expect him to be good the entire series and probably only in the final season we'll be able to see how he turns to the 'dark side.'

@@raybrandt I dunno if we’re gonna be able to agree on this. Everything that I have seen of the show so far as shown me that the writers and directors have a good knowledge and love of the extended legendarium. Sure, Galadriel and Gil-galad are… not the way I expected them to be, but I think it’s a good idea to keep in mind the fact that the writers have 50 hours of television to narrate, and I believe we can expect a great deal of character development on the parts of all the characters. That said, I propose we wait until the identity of the stranger is revealed. If it’s one of the Blue Wizards, you can owe me five internet bucks. If it’s Gandalf, I will happily pay you five internet bucks. If it’s Tilion, it’s a wash and no internet bucks change hands :) sound good?

If we don't voice our opinions, then the show will continue to be middling-to-poor.
The only way the show can improve is if the showrunners know they've made mistakes.

Good catch. My guess is Maeglin, son of Eöl
"When Maeglin saw this, he stabbed Eärendel, but the child was wearing a coat, and Tuor broke Maeglin's arm. Finally, Tuor took Meglin and flung him far out. The body smote Amon Gwareth three times before reaching the flames, "and the name of Maeglin has gone out in shame from among the Eldar and Noldoli"
Would explain the burns on his skin, his possible relation to orcs and his metal glove on a possible broken arm. Why he's been hiding until 2000 years after his fall. Who knows. Maybe they tend to make him into WitchKing or something and break the idea that they were all men. Anything is possible.
The sword however, I thought it was Anglachel too, piercing Beleg on the carving in Angband, later reforged into Gurthang.
"It was black and shone with a pale fire. With it Túrin performed great deeds but also senseless acts, but it broke when Túrin killed himself upon the sword."

It's incorrect to refer to 'the Maia' as the group of 5 wizards who were sent to Middle-Earth to combat Sauron. Though the group of 5 wizards were all of the race of the Maia, collectively they were known as the Istari. Maia are a race of immortal beings, each one was originally aligned or associated with a specific Vala - e.g. Gandalf with Manwe, Radagast with Yavanna, Sauron and Saruman with Aule.

Okay lore aside there is this weird tone shift each episode where it feels like they are just jumping from plot point to plot point. This is like something I have noticed a lot with Amazon projects even Wheel of Time. There is no shortage of resources invested in their shows no one can deny their production value. But holyshit, the writing is bad, it feels like a bunch of execs told an Ai to write a script and the ai is just crossing bulletin points after bulletin point. I think right now its HBO>Disney+andHulu>Apple>Netflix>Amazon .

The mithril story is not real: Gilgalad and Celebrimbor told Elrond that they need huge amounts of mithril asap because they will need to leave or start diminishing by spring. But Celebrimbor had previously told Elrond that he needs his forge by spring. If the Elves were in such imminent danger, why would Celebrimbor delay his forge until they have already reached the deadline? Even a master craftsman such as him would need more than a day or a week to process all that mithril. And they hadn't really seen the ore, so it's not like they knew exactly how to work with it.
Related to this, the scene with the priestess from the trailer: knowing what I know now, it seems to me that she's trying to sabotage the mining in Khazad-dum. So, perhaps she knows there's a Balrog under there and doesn't want all hell to break loose or she needs the entire dwarf population there to be annihilated so her side can get the mithril.
Btw, I loved the foreshadowing with Isildur.

  • @MintakaSaiph
    @MintakaSaiph Před rokem +12

Isildur is so selfish. Still they’re telling us all of the interesting plot that happened already off screen. Then talking about stuff they want to do or still deciding to do (Elrond mithril; Halbrand going back home).
The ending was not as anti climatic they wanted it to be.
At this point I’m rooting for Sauron to take over all of Middle Earth.
Let’s see how long it will take the Numenors to reach their destination.

Elendil's kinds are useless, one is MIA, one is selfish and the girl is cowardly or an idiot.

The Forbidden love story of Middle earth
The story is a love story of Galadriel's brother and Blum the baalrog. After years of fighting the forces of morgoth. Blump used to always taunt him calling him Kin slayer to get a raise out of him. Him and blum stopped their fighting at the top of the tallest mountain by the a great tree and climbed to its highest branch.
They carved their combined name blumpkin and there the greatest act of forbidden love took place on that very branch. The light of the tree of valinor was molded into a new seed and the unyielding darkness was made into its fertilizer. This act of love and horror became the unspeakable act of the blumpkin never to be repeated again. After never experiencing such love in his life and from sheer disgust died. Blum in his grief and aguish took the spoils of their session and buried it deep in the misty mountains. Having nothing left but the germinating seed of his lover he went into a deep slumber forever guarding what remained.

The sight of these elite warriors made Sauron put his tail between his legs, give up and escape... And in Rings of Power these warriors must be taught by Galadriel how to kill an orc.
