Wearing a black/dark coloured top makes it difficult to see yours curls,maybe try a lighter top? Great looking curls though 😍

With the 9 row brush, you could always remove 2 rows to get the 7 row. The D4 brush is like having 2 brushes in one. Why spend $40 on two different brushes, when u can buy one for $20 and remove rows if you want to? I just ordered the D4 Denman brush for this reason. Can't wait to receive it and try it out!!
Probably a stupid question - but can you put the removed row back in?? I’ve just been worried about pulling out two rows from the 9 row just incase it doesn’t work as well once it’s already been pulled out and I decide to put the removed rows back in lol

Amazing curls, and not that you don't already, but I think you would look incredible with a lot of volume, I don't know why you think you couldn't pull it off 😄 like Mell says from Manes by Mell, the bigger the hair, the harder they stare 😆

I don't see a difference either. You're hair looks the same (amazing) on both sides. Thanks for doing the test though ... I was wondering the same thing when I was trying to choose the Denman brush to buy (I ended up with the 7 row). Glad to know it wouldn't have made a difference. :)

It makes sense that its only larger for longer hair. So that it can wrap around the brush more.
Is the 5 row one also good?
I tried my best to see the hair, I believe the D4 gave great coiled curls but gave more volume and the D3 was more coil curls than volume and etc.
have you experimented with taking out some Rowes on the brush? I read that that also might affect the curls
No I haven’t, have to try to see what’s the difference
I came here looking for any advise on removing 😉 I have wavy 2b. Do you know what removing does?
@@DebRoo11 it has something to do with how big the clumps get. But i think you just have to try it to see what it does for your hair

I don't see a difference either but your curls are so beautiful I think maybe its better to get a D4 bc you can remove some bricells so u can make a D3 but very nice video I like how u explain everything so good❤

i'm so happy it makes no difference cuz the 7 row is £9 so its more expensive than the 9 row in the UK and i couldn't find the 9 row anywhere but i finally found a ton of 9 rows in tkmaxx yesterday for only £5 but i wasnt sure what the difference was so i'm defo getting it now

I just got my D3 7. I have the same hair type. I chose this one based on a video I watched that recommended it for our type. I don't remember the video tho 🤷♀️ seems it doesn't make a difference as per this video though

My guess is 9 vs 7 is more about people taking out rows but I'm not sure. As a wavy, I struggle with the brush.

Can I ask why you put the gel on after and not while combing it in sections.? Is it better to do it after defining the curls.?
I do it both ways just depends on how thick the gel is, sometimes I put it on before brushing or after
What do you think about the D31/41 brush? I know those are for detangling but do you know if they sculpt curls too? I have long and fine 2C/3A curls. I really want to define them but they get realy tangly sometimes too. Should I get the Denman detangler and the D4 brush? Thank you!!
i haven't personally tried the D31/41 so i couldn't help you there. but for detangling i use the ez detangler its really good
Moo Moo - I am going to try either the D31 or D41. I have the D3 and the curls it creates are way TOO tight! Like Shirley Temple curls…I have 3c hair. I am hoping the D31/41 will create looser curls for me.

Honestly it don’t think it matters they both clump my curls but I always use the D7 because of the color lol
Black hair and black t-shirt was a bad decision because it's hard to see anything, but still thanks for the video

I found two similar brushes to the Denman brushes at Daiso (Japanese dollar store). One brush with seven rolls of bristles & similar color scheme and the other slightly different (color and material of the handle). I know they have Daiso stores in L.A. & I was wondering if you could do a review on the Daiso brushes? Since I'm still learning how to do & care for my hair my hair results using the brushes would not be optimal & it would sort of be false results therefore unfair for the brushes potential. I'm not sure if the brushes work correctly or not or if it's just me still learning. If that makes any sense? I hope you can find the brushes at Daiso and review them. Most products we use are made in China, these are Japanese so the name brand on the label doesn't always make a difference besides the increase in the retail asking price.

I have one of the Daiso brushes and I use it like I use the Denman brush and get similar results. I also seen a similar brush in Burlington. I feel like there are a lot of dupes out there. They say the magic is because of the curve part of the top part, the top red area where you can pull the Bristles out. Since they all have the same curve theoretically they should all work the same.
@@christinapal2064 I wouldn't call them dupe brushes. Those brushes have always been around since my 40+ years on earth they just weren't marketed with a brand name label on them. The expansion of hair products for curly hair is definitely new to the market. We definitely didn't have all the curly hair products when I was a kid, hence why it took me so long to learn how to treat my curls and what products to use. I'm still in the learning process.
funny thing about Daiso is, being a Japanese brand most of its products are still made in China 😂

gel is to give ur hair a final hold. for me personally i use it after brushing with the denman and the last thing i do is use gel it just depends on how your hair reacts

A 7 row brush is for curls that are 3b .
A 9 row is best for curlier hair !

This question is for both Rocio and Marianellyy. First off I love the informative video and the informative comment. I have 3A curls and medium length hair that goes past my shoulders and do not know which brush to invest in. I see that the results may have been similar to you from both brushes but do you think I should get the 9 row or the 7 row? I would like my curls to be more defined when styling but am confused about which brush to get as they are both good.

I would suggest that you don't wear a black shirt because you have black hair. It makes it hard to see your curls. I also think the D4 gave you a little more volume but the curls look about the same. That's my 2 cents.
I can't really tell you should have used a different blouse a lighter color because The blouse you have now plans with your dark hair color but your hair looks gorgeous but I can see but I can't see the difference of it because of your blouse

I can kind of see the difference… the d4 side made your curls a bit more coily. The ends on the d3 are a little more “stretched out” but it could just be my eyes lol either way looks amazing 🤍
