EDIT Wow this video blew up. I know they are redeads, thank you. But I used the word Gibdo because of the mask I was wearing and also Gibdo is just more fun to say. So you may label me as willfully ignorant. I'd also like to think that this video got big because of the reappearance of Gibdos in TotK.
And thank you Nintendo and Lady Gaga for not taking it down :)

funny how gibdos on totk looks like redead on mm and oot, and now this is recommended when totk is out
When you set gibdos on fire in OoT and MM, the wraps will burn off to reveal “redeads” so they are actually one and the same, so I think TotK just removed any distinction between them.
Kind of understandable. The original Gibdo is based on a cultured phenomenon: a mummy. Not something really creative.
What would be more recognizable even to people outside of the Zelda branche, Gibdo or Redead? I think the Redead _as figure_ wins, but considering the name Gibdo seems more recognized to me. So why not merge them? Call them Gibdo, but make them as horrifying as a Redead, Nintendo actually did that that. They aren't actually so horrifying considering the other enemies like Lynels, Gleeoks, Frox or *_Gloom Spawns_*.
TotK is *also* quite as revolutionair as BotW. I feel like the confusion between a Gibdo and a Redead already existed, Nintendo just kind of removed that with TotK

Like how the doors of the castle have what i can only assume to be some insects that are local to the ikana kingdom or something they worship or an abstract version of a redead.

If you think about it from a metaphorical or allegorical stand point, much of the levels represent the five stages of grief. But then what do these dancing gibdos represent? Why, they embody the “screw it, I’m dead anyways, might as well party and make it count” mentality, of course!

Gibdo's are designed as mummy. Probably a 0.1 design from the Redeads, because a Redead isn't a cultured fictional phenomenon. A Redead also have other properties: they're trying to 'hug' you _and_ you hear a girl screaming if they notice you (not all games)
Fun guess: I think MatPat has tried to guess what they're made of, I think they're made from a weird clay with a wooden 'mask'.

Are these just reskinned Gibdo? They look like Redeads, and I'm assuming this is majora considering I don't recall a temple where one could find redeads before turning into an adult in OoT. Though, I maybe remembering wrong.
its Majora's mask 3d, and yeah these are Redeads found in Ikana palace.
in the same game if you hit Gibdo with fire they turn into Redead but as far as I know only the Redead in the palace dance and only when you wear any mask that makes you look undead.
