Its actually 1/2 a cup for 6 pound body weight and 1/4 cup per 3 pound body weight for any new rabbit owners. Also it takes 8 weeks for a rabbit to stop drinking milk from its mother not 7. And alfalfa hay is high in calcium which is what your baby rabbit needs in order to gain weight for its adult body. I really recommend watching Lennon the Bunny she gives great advice and will be more accurate

@@aaliyah6402 Raw goats milk if you can get it it best, if they are really young you can give them a mix of kitten milk and goats milk but raw goats milk has the best probiotics to keep their tummies happy.

Good advice on the alfalfa + grass hay, considering that my first rabbit almost died prior to coming home due to not having access to alfalfa.
The breeder that had her was giving her timothy pellets and hay only, and she started having seizures due to malnutrition.
She ended up surviving, but after a really expensive vet visit.

Love your videos about rabbit! 😊😊😊 I've tried introducing my mini lop, he's 3 month, a little piece of small lettuce for a week. All he did was lick it for a minute and then hop away minding his own business. lol ever since then, he don't bother trying to eat the small lettuce and ignored it. I've been introducing other kind of hay to him instead and he has been enjoying it.

I keep a low flower pot with grass in for May rabbits because they like eating grass. They also follow a strict food plan: breakfast is like muesli and herbs, they are not picky bunnies so it's great. Lunch is optional and is only fed one or twice every week at the weekend and that is pellets, they have about 1/2 of a cup but they are juniors still and hitting puberty and That's what the get suggested and dinner is at least 4 different types of veggies. However they do have constant access to hay, the have hay in the litter box, bedroom and their play area. They also have hay on the floor for some reason that I guess they just drag around.

-I give my bunny alfalfa but I mix in a tiny bit of timothy.
-I've been giving her little portions of romaine lettuce daily and so far she hasn't had a negative reaction.
-I haven't given her any treats yet.

Hey, our cat brought in a young bunny. She’s maybe about 6 inches long, and we don’t know where her family is or how old she is.
We currently have her in a nice cage. It’s sorta small, so it definitely cant hold her for too long before she needs a bigger cage.
My little sister and mom kinda want to keep her. We have broccoli and lettuce in his or her cage, but I’m not sure if it’ll keep the bunny sustained.
Do you know what to feed the bunny for a bit before we either release it or decide to keep it?
Edit: Nevermind. You answered the question.

So yesterday I got two rabbits and I think one of them is baby but I'm not being able to understand. The baby rabbit didn't eat that much yesterday and today when I gave them some kale the baby one didn't eat at all. It just sits curled up and sleeps.
PLEASE I NEED HELP AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
    Thank you.

My rabbit is a month old and I’ve been feeding him a lot of greens and veggies and even some fruits along with only alfalfa and Timothy hay no pellets and he’s been doing fine you think that’s a bad thing because he is so young ?

My bunny is 4 months old and she doesn’t eat much hay at all. I had to stop giving her so much because I was throwing over half of it away because I keep it in her litter box and she would refuse to eat it. She loves her pellets but that worries me bc she doesn’t eat barely any hay. I provide her Timothy hay bc I couldn’t find any other type. Can I try to make the treats that are smashed pellets and banana for training? Or is it too much? Is there an alternative that I can make that would be better? She will not take pellets out of my hand.

I got a bunny yesterday, he is 9 weeks old, already eats grass hay and about less than half a cup of pellets. I started introducing him to veggies yesterday and his poop is normal, should I stop and wait till he is older or?

I let my 9 week old bun eat a few leaves of kale and lettuce this morning. I wouldn’t normally let a young bun do that but his newly bonded brother is a year old and they ate together this a.m. his big bro ate almost all of it 😂

My rabbits were fed sweets (yes- candy) as treats at their last home... i’m assuming that this is very much not ok, but what can I do to wean them off of my them? And if it turns out they are ok for bunnies to consume please tell me! Thanks! :)

Is this the same for wild bunnies my dogs killed a whole nest of baby bunnies except one we thought it would be too cold for the one singular bunny so we brought him in he is still drinking KMR right now but we need to know what to give him when he starts eating real food

We have a 5 week old baby rabbit that shares a cage with his mom since he is still nursing. When I feed her, he goes over and nibbles on whatever she is eating. She eats Timothy hay, Timothy pellets & veggies (lettuces, parsley & kale). Is that safe?
