I have the 2019 Jetta GLI 35th Anniversary Editon in the same color. Body style, motor, wheels, brakes are the same. Interior is almost the same too except for the digital cockpit. C'mon VW, 6 years in a row and this car's performance is exactly the same.. The GLI needs more power and an all-wheel drivetrain.

No ventilated seats is a deal breaker for me. I have 2021 gli which comes with it. I’m happy. It sucks after that year they took it out because of the chip shortage
Some old cars are unique, I had a 99 Altima 5sp that felt very solid . I couldn't get that same feeling in any other car. I also had a 90 Civic wagon that was very light to drive and I just couldn't get that same experience in the newer stuff😊

That’s because in recent model years of the GLI, there has only been an Autobahn trim, and that is already top of the line.

The Camry 2.5 AWD seems like a good alternative but I don't think that car is intended for sporty driving😮
How come the GLI comes with less feature than the SEL ? Does this particular car not have all the bells and whistles?
For 2024, there will be TWO trim levels for the GLI. This is NOT the GLI Autobahn.

Actually, the GLI Autobahn in Canada has the ventilated seats, i don't know for the US though.
You just have to move up to the Autobahn trim to get ventilated seats.

It comes with a manual transmission. This one just has the DSG.

TBH, the 2012 doesnt have this motor either....plus, its not an Auto bahn. Pretty good for a tier lower. I care about the performance more.
