Chris Cornell was basically my favourite artist for well over 20 years. I can't even begin to explain. I made this video a while back- when his last album came out (higher truth), and I loved this song.
However, today.. mixed feelings, as I had thrown out all his music in the past 6 months. I felt he was too compromised by the powers that shouldnt be and his eclectic brand of darkness didn't seem so appealing anymore, even though his apparant rejection of them was the original attraction.
I think I was drawn to him from the start because of the Jesus theme, like in Jesus Christ Superstar.. a rock star god railing against a broken world.
Trouble is, he was part of it, somehow. How much he knew, we don't know. But looking back, lyrics about dropping blades and watching rolling heads, is too close to the mark in these last days to enjoy as art.
I became a born again believer a year ago.
What I do know is this. Another celebrity suspicious death.. either fake, or ritualistic cull, or satanically propagated suicide. But not a run of the mill accident. And it's Chris.
I mean come on, lyrics like pretty noose/ and I don't like what you got me hanging from + video scripts.
As for the song- "murderer of blue skies", CC said he imagined it being about a bad relationship. I decided to made the video theme partly about chemtrails, cos I always hated them, and imagined somehow some kind of miracle could banish them forever...
I edited together all my fave CC vids and some blatant chemtrail footage and tried to sync up a few lyrics.. was kinda tricky but great fun. It is my lifetime tribute to the guy.
Nevertheless for some time now I suspected a darker potential meaning of the song..
"I can't wait, to never be with you again.."-- is it Satans voice, speaking about Jesus and God? You see a born again believer has the hope that after this wretched broken fallen world is done, and we've served out our time here faithfully, then we will get to be with the Lord God again in heaven. But the devil doesn't want this. He doesn't desire this. Not even for himself. He is mocking God with his hatred, and pride, and loathing of being in Jesus' presence. The devil is going to hell, and he isn't even repentant.
Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe it's the other way round, and Chris is rebuking the devil, and he wants to be free again. I hope so. Who knows. Perhaps that's why his songs were so deep, open to many interpretations.
I feel so sad for Chris Cornell, because he was brought up a Catholic, which is a very corrupted form of Christianity, so no surprise Chris rejected it, and found solace and meaning and identity in music- as so many of us do, and have done throughout our entire lives.
But it is time to go home now, back to Jesus Christ, the Lord God. He is the only way. I just pray that Chris repented before he died/ was knocked off, and reconciled himself to God, because he was still my brother and friend for the longest time, even though I had put some distance recently between his music and my heart.
And I cry when I think about it. This world is so lost. Pray for the unsaved. And get right with Jesus Christ while there is still time. There is much talk online about Chris' death, and that it maybe linked to end times events symbolism, (black hole sun/eclipse/rapture/ww3) and that his whole career and life was preordained for this purpose. Was he being used by the devil, or by God, or perhaps both? Perhaps it was a tug of war that was only ever going to end one way. What a life to live.
His last song at his last show pretty much says it all, go look it up.

As soon as I heard this song, I knew exactly what Christopher was singing about because I feel the same way. Chris was a spiritual man and sang from his soul about truth, love, promise and injustices in this world. He was misunderstood. He was not a depressed individual but he did have compassion and sorry for evil in this world. And everyone felt his soul pour out in his vocals and lyrics.
He definitely was depressed. He even says so in many interviews. He was a great songwriter. He is my favorite singer. I miss him 😢. I think I may understand why people say Rest In Peace, now.
Metallic Sun just because someone is depressed does not mean they want to take their life. Especially when he loved his children and wife so much. If you watch his last concert, hours before his death, he was preaching about the elites in the world that try to control us. He was singing and jumping around. That is not a person wanting to take their own life.

What's funny about this song is I'm not one to pay attention to the lyrics. I just like the beat. Reverse to 4 years ago, I was on a vacation with my now husband. He hated this song and said it was evil. I brushed it off because Chris is my all time favorite singer in the world. Fast forward to today, I understand why he hates this song. I found out after being physically abused and emotionally abused by him why he hates this song. We are done soon. The sooner the better. This song was probably warning me about him but I ignored it. Needless to say I gave up literally everything for this man. In return I have nothing. Im his 3rd wife. I'd never been married or had kids, single for 10 years, had a career and house. Met him, sold my house, gave up my career and became a stepmother to his 2 kids from 2 different wives. Gave him $10k out of my house sales for his tax debt and left my career and moved 1.5 hours away. He has been devaluing me, tells me that I don't make his coffee right, don't put his clothes away in the right place and my feet stink, etc. Meanwhile I've been his maid, paid Bill's, cared for his kids and working 50 hours a week being successful. He's a loser. Im dying to be free.

Chris Cornells music has always meant a lot to me. I had people in my life call me the day he died to ask if I was ok.
I've heard this song probably a hundred time, his album Higher Truth is one of my favorites. I always thought the song was about an abusive relationship, but now that I am on my journey of sobriety I think its pretty clear (to me at least, this is my opinion) that this song is about alcoholism, or substance abuse in general.
The lyrics really make a lot of sense when you think of it in the terms of trying to stop drinking.
I was only able to see you sing live once Chris, but your albums literally never leave the CD player in my car. Your music is timeless. The way Chris sings actually reminds me of a lyrics by Hozier:
