Random SMW Experiment #2: 340 meters per second

  • Finally I made another video in the same style lol.
    This experiment was started in July 2020, and a personal take on the autowalking concept as one could find in Super Mario Run or Geometry Dash (even if I never played those two games): the player then can only jump or spinjump. My goal was to create around 20 short levels with 2 sections, focusing on peculiar ideas with a twist for the second section as you can see here with the galoombas on the first section and the addition of sleeping goombas in the second section. I also had two WIP levels not shown here: a level focusing around bob-bombs and blocks making them explode and another level using the feather to fly as well as some proofs of concept (using shoulder buttons (L/R on SNES controller) to change ON/OFF blocks, touching a P-Switch block cancelling autowalking for a couple of seconds).
    I cancelled this project quite quickly since there's a problem of consistency, as jumping slightly sooner or later may cause the player to not fall correctly (like in 1:13), which was something I was unhappy and would have been hard to fix given the general concept of the project.
