How He Survived The First Ironman In Antarctica

- In this video, I sit down with Anders Hofman, the only person in the world to complete an ironman triathlon in Antarctica, something he coined an “Iceman.” It’s a 3.8 (2.4 miles) kilometer swim, a 180 kilometer (112 miles) bike ride, and a full 42.2 (26.2 miles) kilometer marathon, all in below freezing temperatures and extremely unforgiving conditions.
But unlike someone like the OG Iceman Wim Hof, who Anders actually didn’t even know about until about one year into his journey, Anders has never had an innate ability to withstand the cold. He could barely stand 30 seconds in cold water when he began his training journey. He wasn’t even a pro ironman athlete when he decided to do this. He described himself as a “nobody” and simply wanted to prove that the ordinary can achieve the extraordinary. So in June 2018, he posted a video to CZcams announcing to the world what he was going to attempt.

In this interview we discuss his mindset towards taking on such a dangerous feat, how to overcome doubt and go after what you really want in life, and how he overcame his lowest moments and went on to finish the Iceman.

It’s real. I ride my bicycle in the middle of the night in freezing conditions with shorts and a shirt,every day, for miles to get to work(which is moving trees all day, in any weather.) I take cold showers and it has been snowing lately. These showers are like regular water to me and they used to be soooo cold. All I had to get over was the frozen fingers. Wim hoff has helped me on my path and I am happy Anders made a dream and stuck to it. Thanks for another inspirational video!

Since I'm from Iran I'm seeing the awakened power of the goddess in young women and also the love for it in men ,so much so that they are willing to die for the revival of it.its a very unique ( although frightening)experience , I've never seen such a thing even when I lived in Europe.As it is chanted these days in the streets of Iran,I end with "Women,life,freedom."

this is a way psychoterapy teaches it: observe you feeling unworthy and see it and do your thing anyway. Other approach is throgh a lot of somatic therapy and women circles- there must be some balance. this guy has shattered it we are capable but sometimes i wanna cuddle and feel worthy of comfort you know. love you Skyyyy. huuuugs
