It’s rather noisey through the HRD, you can hear every time you turn it on or off.

I’m very lucky to have one. I use it combined with a MXR Custom Badass ‘78 Distortion or MXR Custom Badass Modified O.D. (it should be used with an already dirty sound) and it just adds extra tone and harmonics. One side I’ve set for my single coil guitars and the other for my humbucker equipped ones, just like the man JB himself.

The two sides are identical, the controls are just arranged differently. It’s setup so you can either have two identical ODs but with different settings and alternate or if in series you can kick in the 2nd one as over the top drive.
