    Sorry if I sound like an idiot doing the "comments" here and there. I really shouldn't have been talking while filming.

      Don’t worry about it! Still a good video. I enjoy cab rides. Too bad you couldn’t do the whole line. Does he still operate on this line for the evening rushour?

    Is the black thing next to the door a brake along with the red one? I find these controls interesting to look at btw

    • @reallifechronicles1707
      @reallifechronicles1707  Před 5 měsíci +2

      Just to clarify, the red brake handle on the fast brake is the automatic brake, the black one is the "holding" brake. It will only work if the speed is under 2 MPH. This brake helps smooth-out stops

    • @F40-f7q
      @F40-f7q Před 5 měsíci +2

      So the red handle is basically the equivalent of a vehicle brake and works automatically to slow the train to a stop while the other one just holds the train in place so that it can’t move while people board and exit. Cool to know! Thanks for explaining! I assume the left handle is the throttle or equivalent to the vehicle gas pedal.

    This must have been a morning Peak train. This is the only time you can get a cab view on an MBTA commuter rail train.

      Looks like it was on the weekend since only one car was opened. Otherwise there would have been more than one conductor.

      @@F40-f7q But they would never open the car that has the can at the end (except during peak hours) for what they claim security reasons. They instead open the car adjacent to it. Again during off peak hours, most conductors only open the least amount of cars and doors possible.
