Johnny Carson said in his early shows NBC (and other stations) would ERASED THESE SHOWS ONCE THEY AIRED because stations thought it would be cheaper to reuse the same tape because videotape was very expensive. So many of Carson's show 1962 to beginning of 1964 was ERASED!!! CARSON REALIZES THE IMPORTANCE OF PRESERVING THESE SHOWS AND HAD NBC TO STOPPED ERASING THEM. NOW BE THANKFUL THAT EVEN THIS PART WAS SAVED.
