As a dancer if you want to make it even smoother get a bristle brush. Also if you want to make the bun bigger get a small hair donut to put in her hair. Also since her bun is so small I would recommend getting shorter small bobby-pins (for some people they are a little harder to get to stay in hair but it can definitely help with smaller buns.
As a dancer some hair tips is maybe get a small little donut for your hair and you can use a lot of hair spray to stay and for the flyaways or baby hairs you can buy a wax stick for her hair ❤😊💃
To make the bun more secure, i suggest using open bobby pins! the closed ones you were using work but in the future when she has more hair it might be harder! Just a suggestion though 😊
I’m a dancer a competing one I recommend get a tiny donut bun for her hair and then take gel but don’t forget to first spray her hair and don’t forget Bobby pins!
As a dancer next time you should use a small hair donut so the bun is a little bigger, but it’s so using the same amount of hair also trie slicking the back so there’s not a bump❤️❤️
As a dancer personally I don't put up my bun with wet hair because once it dries it's very prone to fly aways. This works for my hair type so it may be different for your daughter hope this helps 💗
As a dancer, I always put loads of water in it, almost like you just finished a shower, then I brush it and put a little gel in all of it so it stays together as you try to rangle it. Then I put it in the ponytail and add more gel. After that, I put the bobby pins in and do the bun then use hairspray to get rid of all the wispys. Hope this helps.😊
i’ve been a competitive dancer for 5 years and i’ve been dancing since i was 2. my tips for buns are to use gel and hairspray. i’ve used styling cream in the past and it just doesn’t work as well. also use a hairnet to keep the bun in place. just make your bun and wrap the net around the bun a few times. then secure with a butt ton of bobby pins. this it what i’ve done for years and it’s worked really well
As a dancer it helps to use a bun net! They have them in all different hair colors to match you hair. Their really useful for keeping a clean slick look!!
As a dancer some tip I can think of are make sure all the hair is wet, and put gel all throughout the hair. Also a small bun form and a hairnet can really help.😊 Hope this is helpful!
I’m a competition dancer so I would suggest a comb and a wax stick. That’s what helps me with buns. Also, you could do a hair net and wrap it around a couple times.
I have done dance for 8 years, and I really recommend bun nets it’s like a donut but a hair net and it makes your hair look AMAZING!and the hair spray brand “Kendra”is amazing also!I hope this help if you need tips on costume pieces or makeup tip just let me know and I’m willing to help!
hi! so i am a dancer and do my own bun every day! what i recommend is using mousse! it rly helps the slick back! and i use gel on the wispies! i recommend tressme for any of your hair needs!
My daughter is a competitive dancer: when you are going around the the bun secure it with Bobby Pence as you go around it will help much much better to stay in place
Start slicking back the bun with wet hair and a bristle brush. A bun maker would be really helpful to make her bun look more full. Also a hair net is an amazing thing to keep everything intact!
I am a competition dancer and I use a hair net and wrap it around the bun to secure flyways in the bun secure flyways in the bun But her bun looks awesome great job!!
So glad I found this video! My daughter has straight hair & I still found it so difficult! These are the things I use: updo bristle brush, thin hair tie, small bun maker, hair net, wide Bobby pins, water & sea spray. Her hair stays in place without looking greasy or feeling too hard! Hope this helps! 😊
Awww!!! She is sooooo cute!! i love seeing mums putting in such an effort to make their kids days! Melissa is such a good mum and her daughter is so lucky to have her!!!!
So cute!!!! Make sure those flyaways are very very slick. Recital buns have to be really really smooth. And maybe try to keep a part in the bun as you slick it back. That will keep those lines in her head from forming.
You did a great job. If it's for dance its called a ballet bun or you can just say bun use hair colored hair ties try to make the bun as flat as possible get a hair colored hair net yes hair gel and spray and a smoth brush thats all i can think of hope this helps ❤
I’m a dancer and one tip is instead of bobby pins used bun pins. Those are like like spread out and those all really help. Hold the hair and also use gel. That’ll help a lot with the slicking process but great job.
As a dancer that has been dancing since I was 3 yrs old hair spay water bobby pins and gel does miracles my bun held in for 10 dances as long as you put a lot in ur hair it will stay for a long time
I am a dancer myself too! I suggest using a hot bun for her hair, if it doesn’t work just do what you are doing. Also I would use a hairnet and a rat tail comb. They help a lot with dance!
I am a dancer and I recommend using a wax stick it’s really easy to apply and it takes so little time! I used it for my dance recital and my hair came out so slick back❤
Well, I would recommend since I’m in ballet and I have the same problem with my hair and our hair is like basically alike and ways so I would recommend getting a bristle brush for her hair to keep all the flyways down instead of using a toothbrush. it helps so much for recitals You’ll love it. And I’m happy to help 😂😂😂
Having a middle part when doing a bun is very helpful, although it’s easier to do with low buns, instead of high buns. I also suggest a hair donut to help, and even get hair pins instead of bobby pins since they hold more hair. To get the fly aways slicked down, you should get a wax stick and just roll it over a few times. The more practice you have, the easier it becomes. I hope this helps!
I have been doing ballet for many years now and recital bones are the trickiest part! After you do straighten up the bun with the toothbrush you need to try and redo the ponytail and that I would comb or brush.
She grew so much congratulations that you had another baby❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
As a dancer, I would put hair gel through out the hair and make sure that the bun is as flat as possible. Also, make sure you bobby pin the bun to the scalp as you create and flatten the bun. But for your first try, you did great!!!
If she keeps this up and her hair thickens out, def. try a donut and use both bobby and hair pins. I also suggest spray gel and tressemé hair spray. If she has a lot of stray hairs you can get clips in her hair color. Also wrap a hair net on the bun it’s life changing!
I’ve been doing dance for a while now and girl I so get it hair can be so hard a frustrating but when I started using clear gel it works so so much better
I worked in the dance industry for 15 years and the best tip is to wet your hair beforehand and also wash it the day before. Those are the best tips to make sure you have the sleekest hair in the morning and it’s easy to work with.
Hi, I’m a dancer I would probably recommend using a hair net on the bun and some gel or hair spray to hold the hairs secure so the small one don’t come out. I hope this helped
As a dancer I have had to do many buns so I have a few tips use either your fingers or a clean toothbrush(like you did) with get or hairspray to slick back the flyaways and put gel in the hair first rather than using styling cream since the cream isn't the best for them. Use different Bobby pins since those look a bit long! But other wise you did everything else great!! Hope she does well!
Once her hair gets longer and thicker u can use a hence that is made with mesh so it looks more full. And u can use some hair spray to keep it down. As a dancer I use gel as well as hair masks
For the bun as a dancer I recommend getting smaller Bobbie pins for her thin hair. Another thing you can do is get a hair doughnut and rap her hair around it. I recommend putting spray gel in her hair before doing her bun then you can add hair spray. Unless her bun is supposed to be on top of her hair you can take your hand make it like a bland and stick it under her ear were you fingers end up is were the high pony should start.
As a comp dancer, yes u should wet the hair down then when u get done with the bun u should use gel that why when she dances it won't move. Another thing is use a donut so that her hair would look a little bigger. Hope this helps👍
Hey I have been dancing for 8 years so what u need to do instead of using a toothbrush u need to get a slick back brush or a com and use the comeback gel and use a bun Spacer thank u for ur time hope it went well
im a dancer and i thought that you did amazing on the hair i do recommend bringing some hairspray to the recital/rehersal because some flyaways can pop out again :)
So beautiful I am a dancer and I have some tips use hair gel and brush through as you put it up with a bunch of water and once it’s in a ponytail put a little donut in and then wrap the hair around the donut and then put a hairnet over the donut
I'm a Dancer that has done many performances so use gel and brush that through the hair before putting it in a pony. If the hair sticks our in the bun use a bun hair net of her hair colour. Avoid using a lot of water cause the hairspray battles to stick with too much water ❤
Put gel throughout her whole entire head before you water it down and then slick it back while you were brushing it
Nop is better if you get the hair damp and then put gel dissolve with little water and then apply and comb to make really slim hairstyle❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Also use a comb to smooth all the hair down
No do not do that it damages Ur hair
@@hannahmay1967it doesn’t, I’ve been doing this for 10 years (I’m 13) and my hair is perfectly fine and beautiful
@@Greciianu10 I was just about to say this also good job and for the main comment don't give tips if it's not actually a tip
Competitive dancer here, you should get a smoothing brush instead of using a toothbrush. It’s a lot bigger, I use the one from Goody.❤
im a competitive dancer as well. totally agree.
I also use goody lol❤
i’m a competitive dancer my studio is probably better than yours actually it is😂
As a dancer if you want to make it even smoother get a bristle brush. Also if you want to make the bun bigger get a small hair donut to put in her hair. Yupp came to rec a bristle brush too lol

As a dancer some hair tips is maybe get a small little donut for your hair and you can use a lot of hair spray to stay and for the flyaways or baby hairs you can buy a wax stick for her hair ❤😊💃
Also use disposable mascara things to help to
Nice pfp
To make the bun more secure, i suggest using open bobby pins! the closed ones you were using work but in the future when she has more hair it might be harder! Just a suggestion though 😊
Don’t you also call those hair pins?💖
Hey I’m a competitive dancer! I reco using hair color hair bands, slick back maker, and a bun maker! A wax stick also helps with slickbacks!
💕🫶🏻💕Aww so cute congratulations Izzy on the dance recital 🫶🏻👍🏻💕
I’m a dancer a competing one I recommend get a tiny donut bun for her hair and then take gel but don’t forget to first spray her hair and don’t forget Bobby pins!

Pls USE a COMB!! It will make her hair look so much thicker and even. It will also give more of a slick back look
As a dancer, I always put loads of water in it, almost like you just finished a shower, then I brush it and put a little gel in all of it so it stays together as you try to rangle it. Bun makers!!!! They are major life savers
Use a curly hair wooden brush. It works amazing. I use it for straight hair.

Braid the ponytail and then twist it around the hair tie. It makes for a fun and creative way to do things!

I just want to point out that some dance plays (like mine) don't want a part in the bun so it really depends on the studio
As a dancer you should get a hair donut to make the bun and use many Bobby pins and hair spray to make sure it’s really in place and secure
You did a great job. If it's for dance its called a ballet bun or you can just say bun use hair colored hair ties try to make the bun as flat as possible get a hair colored hair net yes hair gel and spray and a smoth brush thats all i can think of hope this helps ❤

You should do a half up half down. Look and curl the down part and put the bow piece on the hair tie in the back.

There are things called bun forms and they work really wells they have some at Clair’s
I would try a slick back brush/bristle brush it helps so much and makes it look a little smoother

i recommend using a tooth brush to slick back the hair better (especially around the edges)
If you want a really nice slick back I recommend getting a bun holder when she is older and has more hair just to get the good shape
It looks so beautiful
I recommend getting a slick back brush!
I love her hair plus sh is cute and good luck 👍❤❤❤
Tooth brush x-little comb👍🏻 and add a special foam circle to make the bun have more volume with her tiny bun
Get a bun donut particually for thinner hair. Use hairspray for flyaways
Once her hair gets longer and thicker u can use a hence that is made with mesh so it looks more full. And u can use some hair spray to keep it down. As a dancer I use gel as well as hair masks
She looks so cute and happy for her recital she is going to do so good in it
So excited for her😊🎉❤
I think you did really well for your first time and putting it in two bits was such a good idea
Boar bristle brushes are really good for smoothing!
For the bun as a dancer I recommend getting smaller Bobbie pins for her thin hair. Another thing you can do is get a hair doughnut and rap her hair around it. Using a slick back brush will work around the same as the toothbrush but the slick back brush will be bigger and much faster and easier to use.
Aww Izzy is so cute! I hope she has so much fun at her recital! I’ve done dance since I was 2 and I love it! Good luck Izzy ❤

Regular gel on top of moussed hair really helps & really helped with my tender headed thin haired little girl.

im a dancer and i thought that you did amazing on the hair i do recommend bringing some hairspray to the recital/rehersal because some flyaways can pop out again :)
it’s a lot easier when her hair is dirty so don’t wash it the night before it really helps with styling
I love it so cute
She sat there the whole time and didn’t move such a good girl
I’m a competitive dancer. I use a wax stick, slick back brush, edge brush for edges, eco gel, hairspray , and two pony tails.
Shes sooo cute
Awww, so cute❤
Looks so cute!!
I’m a dancer so they usually want no fly aways so I would suggest using some gel and maybe hairspray then like a slick back brush or a toothbrush too
Smoothing brush is gonna make it smoother and less tangled underneath too
So beautiful
I am a dancer and I have some tips use hair gel and brush through as you put it up with a bunch of water and once it’s in a ponytail put a little donut in and then wrap the hair around the donut and then put a hairnet over the donut
Use a donut for the bun when her hair is a little longer it helps a lot.
I use a wax stick for flyaways. It works so well!
Izzy looks soo cute
I'm a Dancer that has done many performances so use gel and brush that through the hair before putting it in a pony. If the hair sticks our in the bun use a bun hair net of her hair colour. Avoid using a lot of water cause the hairspray battles to stick with too much water ❤
Make sure the hear is dirty instead of freshly cleaned cause it helps the gel/hairspray stick better
I love Izzy hair so much ❤
I use gel to like make the bun slick so when I dance in it it doesn’t move around.
