Very helpful! Thank you! My daughter competes in gymnastics and must have a bun. So I just do a twist bun but it comes out too high. SHe wanted a flat bun. I had tried the bun maker and her hair is too fine to cover it all, but thanks to your video I see I was doing it wrong.

It’s not a balett bun
A proper ballet bun should be extremely flat just giving a heads up. The bun is good for jazz and tap and stuff, but not really good for ballet.

I have curly curly hair and it's really hard for me to do my bun without a bun maker. I can't straighten my hair either, it won't hold and I don't have the time. Does anyone have any tips on how to get curly hair into a proper ballet bun without a bun maker?
EDIT: my hair is also pretty short... about three inches above my shoulders.
