This song literally did some things to me! I felt such a relief, felt so grateful kinda for even being able to listen to such a piece of art, I felt sad, nostalgic and happy at the same time, all of the pain in my soul went away and I literally cried like a baby! Music always makes me emotional but it was on another level, total catharsis.. Beautiful!

This song reminds me of an empty dance floor at a club.
The sheer melancholy of this song and the fact it was released in my own dark age of 2009… I left home for the supposedly brighter colours of Townsville that year and even though I wouldn’t hear this song until more than a decade later, it feels exactly like those empty moonlight nights of Bowhunters Road Park. Life crashed and never really recovered. The story is ongoing. Suddenly this song is 14 years old at the time of writing. I yearn to start that era over, nostalgia-tinged, and yet, I don’t want to have anything to do with it. The young people at work barely remember that time and yet there I was. I was there. The end of the first decade of the 21st century.

went to their concert last month, I felt the same thing. I was struggling to adjust myself to being a white collar worker after university and there was a moment during the concert when they played this song, I told myself "you are still young." Seeing this comment made me smile :)
This is such a beautiful metaphor of being covered by the emotions of a break up or probably just life alone. The only hope there is is love for him but the more he is alone the more sheets are added (hence, the black sheet) He may get one off but he can never be free from any of the sheets just like the love he has for his forlorn.
