‘Glue EP’ Out Now -
Ninjashop / Stream / Download: bicep.lnk.to/glue-epYO
Taken from ‘Glue EP’ released 2nd November 2017 via Ninja Tune.
Inspired by the song’s homage to the rave era, the video for Bicep’s GLUE by Joe Wilson is a series of landscapes which revisit the sites once brought alive by now infamous raves. Today they sit desolate and empty, retreating back to their former state, with little to show of their impact they had on UK music culture. The static shots offer space to reflect on the importance and idiosyncrasy of these locations and how an abandoned lido, remote airfield and disused warehouse helped to shape the lives of a generation.
Juxtaposed with the images are the hazy, fragmented recollections of those who were there, lifted from CZcams comment sections of the genre’s most defining sounds. Perhaps the most beautiful and poignant pieces of evidence from the period, they eulogise over a time of unity and euphoria, and are a longing to be returned for just one more night.

This song makes me nostalgic for a life I haven't even lived.
*yet
I can not describe it better
Get out there n live it..il never forget the 90's...😘😋✨🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼
Imagine how nostalgic it makes you feel when you actually did live it
True dat
I was 19 years old at my first rave when my mates older brother said to me “here ya go kid, take one of these, do half now and see how you go”....well the next thing I know I’m 38, engaged to be married and raising 2 kids.
Still can’t seem to figure out where the last 20 years went, but I wouldn’t change them for the world. The journey which I embarked on from that night 20 years ago was one which changed me as a person, made me see life and other people in a completely different way, a better way, which only those of you who know what I’m talking about will fully understand.
Despite frying probably a million brain cells along the way, I have a mind full of the most amazing and beautiful memories which I will cherish for the rest of my life. For the most part, these memories make me smile, but sometimes they make my heart sink when I think that it’s all over now, those crazy care free days are now in the past and will never return.
To all the young ravers who read my comment, savor and relish every moment of your youth, many of you may not yet appreciate that you’re living the greatest days of your life....and trust me, they flash past you in the blink of an eye.
“Don’t be sad because it’s gone...smile because it happened.”
There’s no school like the old school.
I’d do it all over again in a heartbeat if I could. Time goes too fast.
🙏💞
You've Said All That's Needed To Be Said !!!!!!! Likewise 36 now 3 kids still living the dream
Great Times............
I wonder Matthew, do you enjoy life now? Do you still take MDMA occasionally? What lessons did you learn during your raving days that have stuck with you and you will teach your children?
Pure truth. Sometimes it’s hard to even think about those days, because the feelings that come up were so real, and so free, nothing mattered except creating love and relationships and music and memories. Why can’t we get to 50 before have to settle down?? Would make life a better experience, though it’s ALL good. You’re not alone man, many millions feel the same.
Boy, that just hit the spot.. damn your words with the song goes perfectly together!
My recent ex was a raver.
After her ketamine addiction, I stuck by her and trusted her in recovery, she was clean and doing so well, until she ended up relapsing to mephedrone; I was shocked, upset and wanted to help her, but she gave the classic addiction excuse of "let me live my life how I want", then deflected towards me and my shocked/upset reaction, and used that as an excuse to leave.
It destroyed me, coming to terms with the fact she doesn't want to be helped, and how I can't help her for that reason....
This was her favourite song in troubled times.
So, I'm sitting here at 1AM, listening to this, still aching from her loss.
Rona,
If by any chance you're reading this, even if you don't want me, *please* get help; You deserve a better life.
It is not too late. I love you.
-Markus
Unfortunately some people can not be helped, they need to help themselves firstly.. if they can but you deserve a woman strong like you
❤❤❤
Im an old skool raver aswell. Did more drugs than I care to mention, and mean anything to get of my head. Got into heroin and that really fu#ked my life up, 15 years of destroying myself and family. But you dont do it until your ready. Now 46 and luckly havent touched anything for about 17 years and have a great family. So Im living proof it can be done. Live and hope my friend.

I remember that morning, coming back with friends from my first rave. We sat in a local cafe, had a drink and got in the car. Looked at the sunrise, overwhelmed with emotions, a friend says I have a song for you ... he plays this masterpiece on his phone, the third friend who drove puts on his glasses and slowly starts the car. For the next five minutes no one said a word, I looked out the window, the sunrise warming my face. I will remember that moment, those emotions and that morning for the rest of my life.

Thanks man for sharing this beautiful memory! I remember this feeling too
Wow that's amazing, first time I heard it me and my sister were driving through the back lanes at midnight and just so happy with this blasting through the speaker
im 54 now and only went to a few raves, wish i went to more of them, no kids 3 heart attacks multiple strokes died twice but the music still plays on ,,, peace,,,

Glad you still around take care yourself
For years I have struggled to understand what exactly it is about this song...I am beginning to believe there is a frequency within the song that is healing, sorrowful, uplifting, reminiscent and full of love all at once. It epitomises life through sound making you reflect and mourn, then snaps you back into the present when the lyrics come in...it is pure connection without need of spoken word...it will always be more than a song
You said it all I felt ❤ there is something totally out of this world about this track.
There is definitely a connection between music and and the feelings it emotes through your inner being.
@Chase.A1 this song has something for all who have been in that subculture between the 90's until 2010 somewhere. the story it tells is so relatable to us all who have experienced this

This song makes me feel “that feeling”. “That feeling” for me is when it’s past 4am at a party and the comedown has everyone, while you’re starring at yourself in the bathroom mirror drunk and high af, with your hair messy and your makeup ruined, trying to remember your name, hearing the party’s music in the backround, and you’re just sitting there looking at yourself wondering what you’re gonna do with your life

It triggers nostalgia even though the song isn't as old as you'd think. Sounds like a song I've heard before in the 90s, but this song came out 3 years ago.
It is difficult to describe the feelings this song evokes.

I was a raver from late 87 to 91. It was a time like no other, truly a time when people gathered for a common cause - to dance and have fun. The music, the people, the places (motorway subways!), the vibe. The times are gone but the memories live on. My 22 year old son recently introduced me to this tune, reading the narratives and hearing the music I felt a bond. This is now high in my playlist. Thank you. ❤

I think for those of us who are now approaching our 40's, late millennials (who were too young to catch the rave era/second summer of love) still have a connection to this track if you partied around the 2000's. Pre-smartphone-era raves, no social media, warehouse parties, big festivals, the rise of jungle drum n bass, breaks, and many other genres of edm. All of the late nights, early mornings and kick-ons. It still hits right in the feels 💊

For me this piece of music very intimately captures the innocence of youth and adolescence. I’m not sure about you, but when I think back to the ages of being 21, the feeling I get is very similar to the nostalgia this record brings me. This isn’t and old record, yet somehow it manages to feel old. Together with the film clip, it communicates very clearly what a lot of us who are real fans of real electronic music went through when we were younger. I’m not old enough to have partied in the 90’s but there was still some golden years to be had. Today it’s just not like it was. The scene has changed.

I can report from the Present that this song is continuing on its stellar trajectory.
Last night, i was in a park in Berlin, with two friends of mine. We had a good time with some MDMA and stuff, and were on our comedown. We decided to leave the empty park at like 5 o'clock or so. We passed a group of 5 people, that listened to music at the entrance of the park.
It was obviously this song.
We were passing by, i only heared the snaredrum at the start of this song, and expected some breakbeat or so. But after we crossed the road, and were like 30-40m away yet, the melody set in.
I instantly stopped walking, and said to my friends: hold up, i need to know the name of this song.
So i walked up to that group and asked them about the name of that song. We spoke about it, and about what we have done this night etc. And they were so kind, and asked us, if we maybe wanna go back into the park with them, and watch the sunrise.
It was a cloudy, foggy and cold night in Berlin, and we couldn't see nothing of the sun. But we ended up in one of the best nights of my life, drinking in a park in Berlin, with complete strangers.
All because i decided to turn around and ask them for the song name.
This tune really crawls beneath my skin. It makes me sad, nostalgic and happy at the same time.
I don't know why.
But it is beautiful.
Thank you for creating this masterpiece, and bringing so many good feelings into other persons lifes, with your music.
Feels good just when I think about it

This song is like being in the middle of the crowd having the time of your life and getting the worst news of your life. Your whole world slows down but the world around you keeps going

Wow.
Cried watching this. Beautiful.
My favorite song. Mon plus beau souvenir. Goosebumps everytime. Une vie de recherche musicale pour arriver ici. Forever in my heart.
Newcastle 93 . A foreigner student from Europe, 22 years old from a village somewhere in northern Greece . Rave was out of Mediterranean culture at that time . Evening heading back to my dorm after a rave., Cobalt sky after rain, a wet road and an orange neon sign of fish & chips shop near by. Smell of over used fat. Seaguls. Standing in the middle of the road, I swore to cherish this very short moment for ever in my mind. This is the sound I’ve been waiting for this memory. This is the UK of my youth. Thank you form the bottom of my heart.
great description! live long and prosper
A thing of pure beauty
🙏🏽
Brilliant, thanks x
My friend i can remember same mornings coming back from some rave up in North Greece (Thessaloniki) . That was the time of your lifes..
One of the rare songs that fits a sunset and sunrise
💖

For me, defo a sunset
Big sunrise vibes with this song
Defo, from the top of a mountain.
This song takes me everywhere, and I sent this message to my wife. As we’ve listened to it together before.
Every time I listen to this song, it takes me back to our wedding and our journey together. It reminds me of the incredible love we shared, the highs and lows, the moments of greatness and the times of mediocrity. It evokes memories of laughter, joy, tears, and sadness. It's a rollercoaster of emotions - from ecstasy to despair, from feeling hopeless to hopeful. It makes me reflect, pause, and then propel forward with a mix of joy and sorrow. It lifts me up, only to bring me down again, but in its gradual slowdown, it reassures me that everything will be alright, and that peace, clarity, love, and happiness will return one day. Life has taught us many lessons, but I still believe that there's something special and greater waiting to reward us in the future.
I used to listen to this song when I was partying hard thinking that I will only enjoy this music high AF, 6 years later fully sober for 2 years with still the same love for this beat as I used to. Stay strong people and believe in yourself love.
The outro song of life ...

I also find "Moon" by Kid Francescoli to be an outro to life.
@@s101077 Thanks for the recommendation, that was great!

I dont want to go
This gives me that feeling at 6am suns coming up, running out of gear and knowing the night is coming to a close. Birds tweeting, the crowd getting smaller as everyone starts to fade away. You don't want it to end but you know it has to. Anxiety starts to kick in and getting more and more depressed knowing you about to enter the real world again! 🥺
Matt Tuppen Fkn ay!
couldn’t have explained it better!
FUCKING TO THE T

That's how it felt when I was younger, now that these things had already happened to me I'm becoming much happier everyday, slowly healing...
‘Everything has to happen, as it’s already happened...’ no space • no time ⭕️😌✨
I think this song hits differently for people who raved during the 80s and 90s...there's just something about it
Played on the 4th episode, series 2 of Blue Lights. Heard it for the first time then. I can’t explain it, but it drew me in.
Ditto! 😂
i'm trying to figure out how tf he's able to thrust so fast and keep up with this

BRO FR- Maybe its for stroking????
This song makes me feel like I just want to make stuff happen and not sit around and waste our precious time. I just want to go and hang out with friends, go on vacation and explore the world.. Makes me happy and sad at the same time.
