This game doesn't rely heavily on jumpscares, there are a few, but it mainly relies on atmosphere and music, which is what I love to see in horror games. That's why I love RPG Maker Horror Games, they mainly rely on the own player's sense of reality and twist it to make the player uncomfortable and scared.
There's no noticeable difference between the 2.
Jumpscares are great with a ton of atmosphere as you are always kinda frightened, so when it hits, it hits like a semi truck

That's actually plot-relevant. It's related to unknown fictional people who want you to love this being by stealing personal information so they can track you. (None of this is actually real, but it does tie into how EYX became a thing in the hack.)

What is sonic.eyx anyway where did he originated from?
@@blueshot333 In-universe, he originated from the lost soul of a girl who was part of a group of friends. Her friends were threatened by mysterious individuals to love the entity, and this essentially forced them to kill their friend and use her body as a vessel for the entity, with them dying from a heart attack afterwards.
Now that's how you do an exe game.
Going over the sprites they were all well crafted to fit this games aesthetic, I do appreciate the tone that was being set during Miles's bit while he was walking, I do have to say if any classic game goes to the Horror route in terms of fan made, Fast pace/platforming should indeed be secondary, because it is a Game of Scares after all, and it's also a bit more original, albeit it felt like a twist on Either the Original or Pc Port.

indeed, also what are all the characters at the end screen? (with their icons in the small rings?) I can make out some like sonic, tails, ray and (obviously) amy. but the others are so disfigured i cant tell them apart.

That was the point. The better they make the actual gameplay parts, the more they lure you into a false sense of security, strengthening the horror effect.

this really is a masterpiece, one of the best sonic horror games i have seen on this channel the jumpscares got me every single time although im not scared easily. but the most terrifying thing to me were the eyes - damn i had hallucinations for a week last month, the only thing i saw were eyes. & they looked exactly like the eyes in the games. i once had to hide a part of my screen because it ""triggered"" me. that makes it even more terrifying & unsettling exactly like a game like this should be. wont forget this one for a while

Seeing Rene genuinely surprised at one of the most basic functions of the aqua shield and unsure of how the Eggman monitors work is concerning. I get that actual elements of Sonic gameplay are never seen in .exe games but still.

This is amazing it actively makes you seem like the villain here. Where each character has its own soul and constantly suffering until you close the game. Even though EYX may seem like the villain if you listened to tails and didn’t go to EYX then this might not have happened.

As much as I loved Sonic.ERR, this game looks very interesting and cool, I love how many teams are making their own Sonic horror characters.
This is one of the best sonic creepypasta games I've seen for a while, and I actually feel like I was on the edge of my seat with how terrifying the atmosphere was. Can't wait to see more.✨👀

bro it got me good at almost every second of it ngl... this may just come out to be one of the many greatest exe games throughout history! not saying Nightmare Beggining, Spirits of Hell, or PC Port aren't great but this one scared me a lot more than I expected tbh

This game hits different when you're seeing some other guy going to the same scares you went through.
Another thing, taking out the horror parts the game is really well made
the atmosphere was great it had some great sprites and the storytelling was fantastic overall a solid 10/10
My favorite part of this has to be "Crystal Lake Zone."
More unique levels like that going forward please.
also I usually don't care much for games that manipulate files on your PC; mostly because most of them just spam you with image files, but EYX found a good balance here. I don't know how much coding this would take, but lets say you were logged into your social media while playing. What if there was some fuckery where the game would post things on your facebook if you were already logged into it? Just harmless but spooky things.

I also like the way the jumpscars were implemented here especially in the Tails segment.

I've seen a LOT of .exe fangames
Some with cool horror or remaking Sonic.exe as a whole, some meh or too complicated story and others...well the "others" tried at least
But this one, it's easily in my top 3 Sonic.exe fangames ever, the amount of effort put in this game left me just as speechless as luigikid.
This game could've been a good regular Sonic fangame, but it's a horror/.exe game instead, and i double love it. Good job for the team.

RIP Lord X. Also, this and ERR are, like, the only truly creative EXEs I know. Lord X is cool, but, like, he’s just a scarier version of Classic Sonic.EXE. Xenophanes is like a skinny Lord X, but with a cool new design for his last form. EXE got thanos snapped, and was just a well done version of the faker trope. EYX and ERR are probably the best EXEs I know. At least, Sonic.EXE type EXEs. ERR is one where you can only question his motives, like, has he gone insane after being scrapped, due to his game using scrapped sprites? Why does he seem to be so adept at manipulating everything? Why is he even doing it? He makes you question the very game, and all that. And his design is…fucken messed up. EYX is just fucken terrifying. The sprite work is amazing too. His design is intimidating, and uses the connected eye design to add to it. He’s elongated, and looks already beaten up. The fact that Knuckles revolts against you, the player, is new. And it’s well done. This is overall really good, it proudly sits at the top with ERR. Hell, if the creators wanted it, they’d be total bros. Also, that reaction for the first jumpscare. It was amazing.
This is like Sonic.exe and Mandela catalogue mixed into one perfect fangame of both different things

I'm glad to see that Sonic.EXE and the fan content with it is getting done more justice. There's better storylines, better gameplay that actually has more than one level where soon you get killed, but not right off the bat, and also some very detailed and amazing spritework (makes me a little jealous bc I can't even create my own original Sonic sprite on MS Paint). Kudos to everyone who's working their asses off to make Sonic.EXE better than it was before by creating new incarnations of the blood crazed maniac of a hedgehog with the power to mess up your mind and make you see shit to where he has a better chance at winning the battle

I love this sonic exe game the most out of many others. it gives the atmosphere of playing a completely normal sonic rom, but its haunted by people trying to tell you to stop playing the game, giving you time to exit and delete the rom. then later when knuckles calls you sick, its like they didn't deserve it after trying to save you from the trouble sonic.eyx was going to cause you.
this gives me a bit of an analogue horror type feel with all the distorted features of sonic and co

The sprite work is so amazing, and sonic.eyx's design is very scary, and you can just tell they put a lot of effort into everything in this mod.
