I love when they include the ‘translators note’ at the beginning of a translated book, super interesting to hear about their process and choice of words :)

      Indeed!

Which country/countries are you referring to, and in what target languages of the translated books would they have such a "Translator's Note?" I only own a few translated books. Most of our readers are in English and Bulgarian written in English and in Bulgarian, not translated. Hence the need to know more than one language. I want to find more translated books. So I am going to check our local library.

good to know you are well aware the translator must do justice to the original style even when it is difficult and weird!!

Suggestion for a future video: how about video game translators?

Hey, thanks man. Really loved your content. Direct to the point and no useless or outside the context info. I was looking for something like this and then found your channel. Just keep up the good word.
And also could you make a video on lyrical translation?

Thank you Adrian for this whole series. It is awesome. Suggestion for a future video: religious translation, not old languages but normal languages like sermons, book, church contents etc.

That's on the list :) will come out later this year at one point.

Excellent video! Could you please make one more video about the literary translation, this time focused on children's book? I'm curious to know the difference between translating a children's book and the one for the adults: such as the required skills, the current market situation (demands, supplies, and salaries), and also which languages are popular. I'm a schoolteacher and a multilingual (in English, Japanese, French, and German). It would be lovely if I could do some literary translations of children's book as a side job.

Could you please have the German girl list the resources/grants for sample translation which she mentioned exist in Germany? 🙏

I think her comments keep getting deleted by CZcams because links are involved. I will check with her privately and add the links in the description.

And another suggestion: what about a video about interpretation specialization with people who are working in the field. 😄

If you want to start by just translating a book do you need permission to then sell your work to a publisher?

Maybe one of the panelists can answer this once they see the question :) thank you!
