  • Cabbage Island + Q & A | EP053 | Cruising Boating Pacific Northwest | MV Makena Kai
We haven't had the greatest Spring weather this year, as a result we haven't been out boating much. It's the May Long Weekend (BC Holiday) often referred to as the the beginning of the Summer outdoors season. The weather looks calm so we decide to head out to Cabbage Island. Cabbage Island is fairly isolated and exposed to weather where the Haro Strait and Southern Strait of Georgia meet. It has been many years since we have been to this anchorage and we are really looking forward to it.
Hope you enjoy the episode and thank you for watching.
    About Us
MV Makena Kai is a cruising style boating channel involving adventure, raising children and challenges that take place aboard a cruising type boat. We showcase geographical areas in the Pacific Northwest (Northern Puget Sound) and Southwest British Columbia (Vancouver Island/inside passage). One day we hope to travel much further to Alaska and beyond.
Our channel will also cover an inside look to all the great enjoyments of a boating lifestyle as a recreational focus, boating ownership/management, finance, maintenance, improvements and innovations.
Our goal is to deliver a presentation of what we feel is one of the best forms of recreation that can be experienced.
Please have a look at our content, subscribe to our channel and enjoy.
    Thank you.

Great video as always. Thanks for the reminder - I have been filling out our spares and plumbing I totally forgot about. Need to get some pex and shark bites are awesome.

      Hi Andy,
      Thank you for the compliment!
Some spare pex and shark bites can save a trip from plumbing equipment failure. So easy to put together with the bonus of being able to take apart and re-use. One of the best DIY systems ever!!
      Thanks for commenting.

Thank you for your multiple videos on Tumbo and Cabbage Islands. We've just started paying attention to them since they are a bit off the route for Desolation Sound. We're already huge fans of Patos Island and are hoping for similar rustic magic.

Cabbage & Tumbo islands are an interesting place indeed, really cannot wait to go back again. Timing the weather is often tricky, reef harbour is quite exposed. Cabbage is small but lots to explore on Tumbo. We’ve never been to Patos, one day…
Thank you for watching and your comments.
