      But if they managed to outperform the previous generations skill and techniques by 125+% it would still be an upwards trend. Anyway, masters are supposed to keep most secrects to themselves, not sharing it with their sudents to train their inquisitve side and hide away all these most secret info somwhere else to prevent the scenario described above... So ideally if the student kills the master with 90% completed training the remaining 10% he can gain from the hidden bequest/legacy. Key word: Ideally...

      @@wittyjoker4631 "Killing them only by surprise and treachery" That happend with later generations while the first few actually had fights how Bane intended. Prime example would be Bane vs Zannah... Although Bane believed that pragmatism is a key and strength in not only muscles but also brains, so betrayal is not unwelcome.
      "The master is supposed to teach all the skills as the apprentice is ready."
      Bane himself decided to not teach Zannah all to enforce her to gain knowledge herself. This was also used as a way to prolong the masters life. Keep secrets, make sure the student knows this, so the student will bear with you for while in hope to gain the last pieces of knowledge out of you in time.
      "Even palpatine never learned immortality like his master."
      In legends Plageuis never learned true immortality. He knew essence transfer (which Sidious also learned), based alot of future research on this but never had a huge breakthrough...
      The biggest pain for Sidious was that his master was a scientist by heart and thus wrote entire lectures about all kinds of experiments.The lessons out of these broguht Plageuis such incomparable knowledge but for Sidious who is more of a pragmastist it was a chore reading through the library of his master which he never finished.
      A comparision would be a person trying to know how to build a gun and gets answered by having books about scientific physics, economics (how to best get the parts), forging, balistics, and aiming thrown at them. With the knowledge you could become a gunsmith making a living with a gun factory under your command but you have to study seemingly unrelated things for 10+ years for all this when all you wanted was a simple "building firearms for dummys...

    Honestly I hate Darth Bane and the rule of 2, I feel like it makes everything more boring. The KotOR age and before is waaaaaay better than what happens after, mostly because the Sith are an actual force and not the ones striking from the shadows. I loved the idea of there being a bunch of Jedi and a bunch of Sith and occasionally you would have these big lightsaber battles, you would have the SIth and the Republic vying for power in the galaxy and really it was just far more interesting than the shadow games after the rule of 2.
    It's not to say that there aren't great stories, the shadowy intrigue has its moments, but I prefer 2 giant powers fighting for control of the Galaxy, not a big bad empire against the underdog rebels who win it in the long run.
    As far as power? I think the older Sith Lords would destroy the newer ones, despite what George Lucas has said (He's made some terrible decisions let's be honest) Darth Sidious looks weak compared to Sith Lords like Exar Kun or Revan or Ragnos or Vitiate or many many others, even renowned Sith like Bane seem weak by comparison. Hell Darth Nihilus technically could just instantly kill anything that wasn't a wound in the force, sure it's game breaking contrived power, but it's power.

    Being alive during the Golden Age of the Sith where the practice of Sith Alchemy was at it's apex would've been very interesting no doubt, but then again, Sidious had amassed much if not most of the combined knowledge of the Sith of the past and had mastered Sith Alchemy aswell, using it in the creation of Vader amongst other things, and the Rule of Two had caused both Sidious and Vader to attain a powerlevel very few Sith of the past could've matched, so I would prefer to live in the Sidious/Vader era. On a sidenote, it's a shame Vader never was much interested in the pursuit of Dark Side knowledge as Sidious and Plagueis were and was more focused on destroying the Jedi, getting revenge on Kenobi and overthrowing Sidious to seize control of the Empire, through Sith Alchemy, he could perhaps not only have found a way to restore himself, but also to become more powerful than Sidious, and to become so much more than any Force wielder in the history of the galaxy instead of being reduced to the crippled cyborg that he was.

      @Ms Taylor I like Vader as much as anybody else, but him being a cripple is just the truth, although that isn't to say he didn't manage to become a powerhouse regardless. But the loss of his limbs severely diminished his potential in the Force, by about 40% as stated by Lucas himself, and having to rely on electronics and cybernetics to function and even something as fundamental as to breathe can hardly be considered an improvement, not to mention they made him much slower and less agile than he was before and very vulnerable to Force lightning. The only advantage to his cybernetics were his increased physical strength, which he could've gained through other means, like Sith Alchemy for instance, and maybe the pain they caused him, causing him to grow stronger in the Dark Side. Overall his cybernetics were a hindrance and liability more than anything else.

      Vader fell to the dark side because of his emotions, he did what he did because of his love of Padme and after her death and the supposed loss of his unborn child, rage and anger consumed him and on reflection he was a more pure dark force user than really any Sith because he wasn't driven by ambition or power just grief, anger, pain and hatred it's also why when he discovered Sidious lied to him and his children were alive turning back to the light inevitable because the dark side had lost it's grip on him and while Vader did terrible things Anakin was still there just supressed and he was still a good person at heart.

The Dark New Age sith knew about strategy and understanding all aspects but also keeping their identity hidden and only showing off their well rounded skills when necessary, Like a Jedi sentinel, Therefore it makes sense why the sith failed and died, because they could never perfect a being that could handle all aspects of power understanding and patience and Keeping balance between their own bodies and surroundings, the darkside is a beast to powerful to tame one might say, it corrupts till there is nothing left That is why the Jedi survive they found balance In the force The sith followed passion but with a clouded vision, They followed Emotion but emotion like we all know is a wild rollercoaster, always changing, Ever hard to control, That’s why Sidious was mad and insane, I rest my case🤓

    • @samuelbishop3316
      @samuelbishop3316 Před 4 lety

      I disagree. By the time of Palpatine, he had mastered generations of sith knowledge. And at the same time all forms of lightsaber combat. The old sith were focused on power and war and they died out because of it. Raw strength doesn't beat the jedi. Tricking them does.

    • @Nempo13
      @Nempo13 Před 4 lety +5

      @@samuelbishop3316 Really? The rule of two was focused on ONE thing, amassing power. That was it. It never taught or showed how to maintain that power. His Empire lasted for 20 years. That is it.
      Ancient Sith ruled over quadrants for hundreds of years to even thousands of years. Creating a culture that was uniquely Sith.
      Palpatine failed HORRIBLY. He also wasn't stronger than ancient Sith. Lucas has admitted as much even before he sold the rights. Everyone quotes what he said while it was still early on. When TOR the MMO was commercializing and being presented at cons and such, Lucas was there at times. One of his lines he said to people was "You can finally follow int he footsteps of the ancient Sith. Palpatine was the strongest Sith of the last thousand years but his power pales in comparison to what 'you' will face." Lucas also called the game canon btw. The official storyline that wove through the 8 classes and such...yeah all canon (the storylines never contradict each other either).
      This is what happens when people stop following the canon.
      Also, don't pick and choose, according to Lucas any novels and such written that refers to any time after The Return of the Jedi are NOT CANON. Those aren't the power levels of the characters, those events never happened. So in these discussions one must treat them as fan fiction.
      Facts is, Palpy really wasn't that powerful. He was manipulative and insideous and snake like. He wasn't very powerful though...not in the grand scheme of things. If he was powerful he would have ended them himself, but instead he had to worm his way into the senate and get a clone army made that was brainwashed to follow orders like a religion so that when order 66 was issued they would have no malice. With no malice the Jedi would get no combat sense/awareness and instinctively block. He had trouble with Yoda and Mace...all 3 of them put together couldn't hold a candle tot he ancient Jedi or Sith. That is how weak BOTH orders became with time. The Sith weakened themselves (Palpatine had access to knowledge but he didn't master it, he didn't have enough time to master it all, would take multiple lifetimes) while victory itself defeated the Jedi. Peace made them weak.

    • @samuelbishop3316

      @@Nempo13 Yeah well you're not wrong. But what I said was still true, Palpatine had mastered generations of sith knowledge, he just used it differently to them. I see this because the past sith and jedi were looking into and becoming more intouch with the force through exploring it in new ways. Further on into the timeline learners were only taught small fractions of the force in constricted fashion's. In other words these orders stifled an individual's growth through ridged practices

    Imagine a movie made where they have to go back in time to battle the ancient sith and prevent them from ever existing, saving countless lives.

    The Old Republic Sith characters are sooo much cooler and their stories are so much better. Even a minor character like Darth Malgus... literally walks through the Jedi Temple's front door and just starts slaying Jedi.. Don't think Palpatine could handle that.

      i think vader's armour is based on darth malgus's palpatine admired malgus's power and leadership

      but see thats the problem with the old fashion sith way of kill them all, it didint work out in the end so it took someone exactly like old palpy to be big brain enough to not just defeat them on the field of battle but as a whole witch he did but i do agree with you having a sith just pull up to the temple and start a gang war is much more cooler

      Malgus had to be the Vader of the Old Republic era. He didn't bother with stealth or secrecy, he waltzed right in and started murdering people left and right. He was a accomplish battlefield commander, a highly skilled duelist, and extraordinarily strong in the Dark Side of the Force. That and he too killed his wife, so there's that too.... the prick.

      Darth Vader could literally crush the old republic sith. He was the chosen one after all, he was the best duelist too.

      Maybe, but considering that his Armor suppressed his connection to the Force to keep him from being too strong for Sidious to control, Sith Lords like Darth Marr, Darth Malgus and the Emperor's Wrath, wouldn't have too much trouble with him. Now if his armor hadn't been designed to stunt his powers, then Hell yes, even the Old Republic Sith would have one hell of a time getting rid of Darth Vader
