I saw Al last October and my wife had booked the front row. Sure enough I got noticed and because Im not exactly slim, he kept feeding me packets of crisps throughout the show! Great evening & not expensive - about £35 as I recall.
Ahhh so you were the man he kept throwing crisps at.... from now on you're Crisp man.
I'm approaching 65 now, and when younger would laugh at jokes about older people. I say keep it up. It happens to all of us - hopefully! I still love to hear them. What am I supposed to do about becoming older? Cry? No, I'd rather laugh. As long as it's comedic and not nasty. Anyway, I'm going for my afternoon nap now.
Great story grandad 😅
But nah, you’re totally right, and I can only hope to keep that sense of humour as I get older…
I was in the audience for his show last year. There was a lot of bald people in the front rows and he came out pointing at each of them "bald, bald, bald, bald" etc and something about bald genetics letting us all survive covid. He picked on an old guy too, which was pretty funny.
Al's memory for remembering audience participants names and occupations still astounds me, after watching him for years and years. His historical knowledge is legendary.
BTW ... QB is looking very radiant in this reaction. QB (Callie), keep up with the resting as advised by your Medic Staff / Dr / Consultant. All the Boomerites / Muppets want to see / hear of a successful outcome / delivery of Princess Boomer.
Both of you look after each other AND the dogs, AND Lil B, With much admiration and love .... Dougie (UK).
I saw Al Murray live at the Edinburgh Fringe. He gets the audience involved and it's hilarious! Just don't sit near the front unless you want to be part of the show!
He sent a bloke to the bar to buy a couple of drinks. I was at the bar speaking to the guy, and he was like "why the fuck am I here buying drinks? I came to see a comedy show!". Haha!
I work in a restaurant and the amount of "Gluten free" people we get in that think Gluten is some sort of evil ingredient in food that they need to avoid is actually insane.
Hasn't it been put in food by the government to control people? 🤣✌️
Either that or it's just to seem special, mental and physical health problems has become weirdly glorified these days to the point people use "autism" as a character trait.
I was once into a guy who loved talking about his health problems, he'd list them off like they were achievements and some of them didn't even sound like real things. Strange.
@@Vaguer_Weevil I have IBS so eating some things gives me pain....but f it, still eat them! Give me the gluten. More for my money.
@@Vaguer_Weevil I know what you are saying. I have worked with seriously ill people and as soon as some healthy person starts moaning about their allergies I switch off
My wife cant eat wheat but is fine with other glutenny things....but due to the general IQ in a lot of restaurants, she asks for the gluten free menu because its easier.....I can have all the gluten but end up with the same shit as my wife because two people ordering different things is too hard to deal with🙀. Good side is all the faddy diet people have made it easier and cheaper to buy gluten free in supermarkets😸👍 PS. Wear what you want and sod em all👙
All of the historical detail about the D-Day landings is precisely spot-on. He really knows his stuff.
I saw Al Murray about 20 years ago in a tiny local theatre, no more than 100 people in there, met him afterwards, he’s a really nice bloke. I’m going to see him again next year on his ‘guv island’ tour at the theatre just down the road, ticket on the second row, £35… I’m a far glasses wearing nerd with terrible fashion sense, wish me luck 😂
Me as well, through the mid to late 90’s through the 2000’s I saw him in numerous venues, from upstairs at a pub, social clubs, through to mid sized London theatre venues.
Last time was a few years back at my local theatre, the Beck in Hayes.
He’s brilliant a very clever bloke if you want to see a serious side of al have a look at the series he does call the road to Berlin he do a documentary about our battle to get there and the issues they faced it’s really interesting regs howie.
Al Murray’s description of the landing on D-Day is accurate to a tee! The beach, the place, the gun emplacements and the tanks all correct!
WW1 WW2 had nothing to do with Britain Europe loved WW1 so much they allowed Germany to mass arms for WW2 all Europe give Britain is illegals migrant criminals freeloaders & terrorist look at Britain now google white British to be the minority in 50 years time youtube John Cleese London no longer an English city
you should cone to Edinburgh in the summer for the fringe festival, Al Murray along with lots of other comedians usually have multiple shows up here.
There seem too be far more food allergies in the US than there is in the rest of the world. In fact some US CZcamsrs who've moved abroad have discovered that the problem or problems they had suddenly disappear. Also a lot of them report a weight loss, despite not changing their diet, with things being reversed when they go home to visit.
Not surprised. They put way too much unnecessary chemicals in most of the food here. Not all but most.
US food standards are piss poor. Utterly abysmal.
@KingBoomer This isn't necessarily true. The US certainly uses more chemicals in their food, and it tends to be more highly processed, but this likely isn't the whole story. It is likely that the allergic person in these instances is not allergic to the food overall but instead a common ingredient in one country but not another or yet still both countries use a very similar recipe but the available constituent ingredients differ elsewhere even if the listed ingredients are otherwise identical. There will be people who emigrate from Africa/Asia who experience this in reverse. Generally speaking, allergies involve proteins. It doesn't matter what chemicals they add if it isnt a protein allergy is unlikely. This is why 90% of allergies are either peanuts, tree nuts, shellfish or fish.
It is commonly said that the West has more allergies than Asia or Africa, but this could be due to better medical care. There are more doctors and hospitals and so more diagnoses. Many allergies (and especially insensitivities) are not life threatening, and so medical care in traditionally poorer nations aren't so concerned with them because limited resources mean only more life-threatening/limiting disorders are cared about. Further, there may also be a survivorship bias. You are much more likely to survive a deadly allergy in a country with better medical care, leading to more people with the condition so you meet more people with a condition.
With the peanut allergy, it has been commonly held wisdom to avoid giving children under the age of 5 peanuts to avoid the choking hazard. It is believed that this non-exposure has led to more allergies.
Ultra Processed Food. It's getting everywhere and more prevalent in the UK too.
@@danielmcilwaine720 The world knows American food is crap! That's why there are hundreds of videos on You Tube about that pig swill.
The Burqa Conspiracy was a cover up.
Halal is an Islamic way of saying "permissable" when it comes to things Muslims are allowed to have. We in the UK know of it from the Halal preparation of meat, it's probably more widely encompassing than that.
Those savage scumbags have no place in Europe
Who cares?
@@CarolWoosey-ck2rg I do.
@@devilawan8155 Nobody cares. Still.
I got a ticket last night to his latest GUV tour in Liverpool, England in October and I am counting down the days😂😂😂❤❤❤
Al also did a series or 2 travelling through France etc doing a trip from the D Day beaches through to Arnhem etc. Well worth looking at. If I can find a link I will send unless you can find it too.
There is such a thing as irony.
And Great British, self-deprecating humour!
We call it 'taking the piss'. A light-hearted dig at someone or something, but not in a genuinly offensive way.
I guess some Americans will never get the joke.
However, love and peace.
Hey you two, glad to see you still making content, anyone who has been where you are now in regards to your precious princess knows that you are making many sacrifices to keep on doing this, there will come a time (or you are already there) when you must take time out for the health and well being of all 3 members of your little family, I for one would like to assure you that, when that time comes, no matter how long you need, I will not forget about y'all, and will be right there upon your return, and I'm quite sure most other Boomerite's feel the same, For Al Murray look up his tour rather than just london, you will find things a lot less expensive elsewhere, and I would check you are buying tickets for a "theatre" not an arena, where it is like watching an ant on stage, I have been caught a few times, I once paid more for a ticket in the second to last row at very back of the M.E.N. to watch David Bowie, than my friend paid for their seat mid way, just tryin to help, stay safe and healthy x
You guys need to do a livestream so we can teach you British words like Tea Leaf, what was meant by ‘this room looks like a Jeremy Kyle waiting room’, what a nonce is, why the NATO meaning in FB’s set (a diabetic who had his foot amputated) etc etc etc. whenever you guys miss seriously funny stuff I just want to cringe…. But… only in that moment, otherwise I’m strangely hooked on this channel! I think we English are so self hating now that people appreciating any aspect of our culture is a huge boon for us! 👍 We’ll turn you into a geezer, a real bruv in no time innit? Even your slapper can join! 😄
Congratulations on your baby 💯🤣🤣🤣🏴🏴🇬🇧
Halal is when you say Hello with a bulldog clip on your tongue.......
Al Murray is currently appearing in a farce in London’s West End which he plays King Charles II. It’s had good reviews.
Hey King and Queen B..! FYI - the theatre used for the 'Live at the Apollo...' shows is the Hammersmith Apollo in London (currently known as the Eventim Apollo (sponsorship!), previously it was a cinema (Hammersmith Odeon) and dates from 1932 - it's a wonderful Art Deco building, and still has the original (restored) Compton pipe organ, the console of which can rise up out of the floor - used to accompany the old silent films of the 30's, now used for concerts..! Earlier this year went there to see Pentatonix as part of their world tour! Many of the London theatres are from Edwardian or Victorian times, with the oldest being the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane - which first opened in 1663, although the current building dates from 1810..! 😊
Oh wow. I didn’t know you were having a baby. Congratulations to you both. 💗💙. X
We saw him on his last tour, they weren’t that expensive. His interaction with the audience is by far the best part of his shows, I wish he just did it for the whole show. It does show how different it is where you live if you haven’t a clue what Halal is!
A bit more Al Murray! Nice one.
The Al Murray’s “Time Gentlemen Please” Episodes, (seasons 1 & 2 from 3 years ago), are also funny to watch,
Where he plays the Pub Landlord of his own British Pub, hence why he plays this character very well on stage,
🇬🇧🍺🤣👍🏼
LOL. Al Murray is pure class!
Jewish = Kosher
Islam = Halal.
Caoeliac is NOT an allergy or intolerance.
This is 11:05 me speaking. Give the doggo the toy back! haha
Al Murray could need to be be gluten free himself, and/or other intolerances, and still criticise it. Thats why Al is so good.
Al Murray Second World War documentary is called” Al Murray's Road to Berlin” a must watch
Just got tickets to Al Murrays 2024 tour , May 2024......£32 each...same price all seats...we are in the stalls about halfway back so we may catch some flak !
Halal means the way the animal was killed.
"Halal" is an Arabic word (I believe) used in the Muslim faith to mean "allowed" (or acceptable). It is normally used in food and drink, especially meat which has to be slaughtered a certain way (again, as far as I understand it). The opposite of Halal and a word you'll hear far more often is "Haram" which means forbidden. That is basically it in a nutshell.
For the record, there is no alcohol that is Halal.
As a lover of Al, please try Time Gentlemen Please, a series he made as The Pub Landlord, set in a British pub, with an Australian barmaid and poor roasted locals.
Seriously you've never heard of halal? They'll be plenty of explanations🤣Great show kids✌️
There is a problem with gluten nowadays, that there was not in the past. Bread is mass produced at speed to get as much of it on the supermarket shelves as quick as they can. When yeast is added, the dough is only left to rise for a couple of hours. Certain enzymes in the yeast get rid of the gluten, but the dough needs much longer to "prove" for the enzymes to do their work. 24 hours was the traditional way I have heard. I could be wrong.
Also, from what I've read, the varieties of wheat used on a mass scale today are those cultivated to produce a higher yield but are not particularly suited for human digestion (I'm not talking about gm product which are in a different category). While some people have a strong digestive tract and remain unaffected, others do not. Unless you have coeliac disease or an allergy, for most individuals a small amount of modern wheat probably wouldn't do much harm. However, we rely heavily on wheat in the west (not as much in the East where rice tends to be more of a staple) and it can be found in practically everything. It can be very difficult to avoid which is why gluten free products have become so popular.
Halal is basically the Islamic equivalent to kosher within Judaism 😂
Stand up ticket prices also depend on the venue. Arena shows are a rip off. You want to go to a local theatre anyway for a better atmosphere, better venue, and more authentic experience
Me and my mate, who lived in the flat (apartment) across the hallway from mine, went to see Al Murray at the Albert Halls here in Bolton in 2011. Thankfully we were seated on the very back row so he wasn't able to "bully" us.
The host made me laugh - watching this he asks what is halal - The muslims have halal food and they don't drink alcohol - the whole joke is based on those commonly known facts....lol.
Gluten folks used to quietly go in a restaurant look at the menu, and ask the staff if they could have some small change due to their problem,, now it's a trend ...
Mike Reid uncensored probably one of the funniest comedians I’ve ever heard just found him by chance on my feed on fb definitely worth a watch quality
Al Murray is on tour early next year and tickets are about £35 probably plus booking fee so probably about $45
You should watch all of that show? He even called a pub landlord a cnut who was virtually crying with laughter
Generally speaking, the first exposure to an allergen does not result in an "allergic reaction." It is the 2nd, 3rd, or sometimes even more subsequent exposures that cause the typical reaction. You need the first exposure to create sensitisation (unrelated to sensitivity), which creates the allergic antibodies and then a subsequent exposure to trigger a response.
A non-immune reaction is called a sensitivity or intolerance. There is no such thing as a lactose (a very common insensitivity) or gluten allergy although gluten insensitivity certainly exists. Coeliac disease is an autoimmune condition, and lactose intolerance is a lack of lactase in the gut, although there are certainly milk protein allergies.
The Burka is actually just a hair covering. It's the Niqab that is the full body, face and hair covering. But people often use the name "Burka" for both.
All our sausages we sell are gluten free, because sausages dont contain gluten. Had a customer demand that we give them the sausages WITH gluten in them.
I have a recommendation, it's a British Sketch show called Hale and Pace. The sketch is called "A Generous Spanish Holiday." You'll love it!
As I said before, he played my local theatre last year. It's not a huge theatre. Tickets were, like, £30ish if I recall. I narrowly avoided being picked on as I was in the 4th row and looked like every other fat bald prick there lol.

Moderation in all things, including moderation.
Ahh to live in a country where halal isn't a thing...
If you do get on the front row to see Al Murray and he finds out you are Americans, hold on. It would be incredibly funny though 😁
Queen Boomer is right food in moderation
It’s true beard and no beard very different for everyone lol 😂
I know some folk who are allergic to everything, and starve themselves to death.
Both Boomers looking radiant.
If you come to the UK, I'm sure your subscribers would all chip in to your entertainment fund, so you don't have to worry about the cost of tickets, food and drink etc. while you are visiting.
You can just enjoy your visit then, without counting the funds available. 🥰
Has anyone suggested “This Country” yet? It’s my neck of the woods and it’s so so funny!
Baby will grow up wanting to watch al Murray then go to school using bad language then telling the teacher it’s als fault
He's just having a pop! just like he is at the "old geezer" and the guy wearing his mums tablecloth!
The history boffin roasting old folks💀
I hadn't realised he was this funny and I'm in the UK. So funny
By Hal Al he means alcohol free :The enemy of the pub landlord
And pork also they slaughter the animals by cutting the throat in a hal hal tradition saying a prayer
Think of it this way love bunnies. If all those people who don't actually have gluten allergies weren't boosting the demand for gluten free products, the supermarkets wouldn't bother selling them. I'm old generation Scottish, so the only things I'm allergic to are things that are supposed to be good for my health.
He loves the English 😂
People are perhaps half right with the gluten avoidance idea.
Industrial production of bread for example now focuses on concentrating gluten content to create a more gloopy dough that needs a very short proof time.
Hence the yeast and other content isn’t allowed to undergo it’s typical process time and to break down gluten and wheat proteins compared the the older methods of production.
While I’m not gluten intolerant if I stuff down a mass production white bread roll or similar stodgy item compared to some properly baked or home made bread, sourdough etc I end up feeling lethargic and out of sorts, like I’m trying to digest a football. I’m sure that can’t be a good thing.
Halah (or Al halah) is food that is okay for Muslims to eat. You see it on shop labels, butcher's signs and the like
Love ya, ya muppets!
Love the t-shirt, great show!
Al says he must check the beer is not "Halal" at 6:14 and you and our gracious Queen were bemused. It's from the Quran - it means something prepared in accordance with strict Muslim laws and traditions. He probably meant 'Haram' which is a forbidden food or substance. FYI :)
You should watch Time Gentlemen Please its only 2 seasons but there are 37 episodes and it's Al Murray in a sitcom playing the Pub Landlord, It's brilliant and very funny
I have been to see Al in our local hall and was only £35 a ticket so we'll worth it
Moderation is ok as long as you don't over do it!
Absolutely love you two ❤
King Boomer, you master of disguise!
Celiacs go into anilfilactic shock and can die. But there is gluten intolerance too. It’s also a real thing that leads to vomiting and the squirts until dangerously dehydrated.
Brilliant 😂
Al murray like jimmy carr and lee evans (whos now retired) have always kept their ticket prices low, they dont like acts extorting customers. Ive met jimmy and al several times and they're both very nice in person
Look at King Boomer's baby face! Smoother than Princess Boomer's baby bottom when she arrives. lol
That civil war General has gone and been replaced by a youthful muppet in a squeaky chair.
Love your gluten diplomacy there,... yip!
Hi Queen boomer good luck for the baby girl my friend xx
He's on tour next year . Got my ticket
Yep. I'm a chef in Australia. The amount of times the 'Free the glutens' made mention of gluten intolerance then "I will just have a bowl of Beer Battered Fries" I became intolerant to the glutens pretty damn quick🤣
It's not an attitude, it's a bad physical reaction that you don't have, clearly. Why be smug about it?
@@Bryt25 Crohn's desese will kill you. Celiacs makes you fart at brunch. .. We know this because it only became an issue when it was mentioned on MasterChef 2005. Chill out. Gluten free is a fashion for the bloody flakes in the world
I'm surprised that you haven't reacted to any of Al's war history documentaries.
John Adams, the 2nd President of the United States, once said.
"I must study politics and war that my sons may have liberty to study mathematics and philosophy.
My sons ought to study mathematics and philosophy, geography, natural history, naval architecture, navigation, commerce and agriculture in order to give their children a right to study painting, poetry, music, architecture, statuary, tapestry, porcelain and that my granddaughters can have a Gluten free biscuit" :).
