My heater failed and ordered the replacement, plus learned that depending on what year production model you have if you need to replace sensors you have to also replace the main board because of incompatiblity. When I consider the amount of run time on my unit has been I consider this brand high maintenance costwise. There was a considerable amount of mechanical components to wear out, ceramic bearings and other stuff for the rotating drum. Will be looking elsewhere when I make the decision to replace. Wish I could be more positive on this design. I have other roasters that I used to make small batches and only ran the Gene Cafe for large batches, so it wasn't really run hard over the years.
Did you fix it? It is best to take the cover off, leave the control panel plugged in and then carefully start it up on the lowest heat setting. I had an issue with mine, the single white cog on the right side was catching at the bottom, a small fan or something, I’m not sure why it started making contact, but I was able to tighten the 2 screws holding the fan mechanism secure, this has given me enough clearance for the cog to turn again. I’ll keep an eye on it to see how it runs

Thanks very useful...
The drum on mine has started to shudder, moving within the guides every time the right side reaches the top. Any suggestions?
