Eliot was right they lost because of horrible play calling
Well said.
God, I was at this game. Brutal. The weather was brutal. The game was brutal. I'm so proud of how the team responded clowning Michigan in the Big House and beating Notre Dame in the Fiesta Bowl. We'll be back, America. The Buckeyes will be back.
L Kast so youre gunna blame the weather?... Umm msu also played in that weather 😂😂😂
LLLLLLLLLL
Colon isn’t always right but I love the way he provokes thought. Interesting guy with interesting analysis.
They lost because they didn't execute.
Thank you and poor play calling...
+shooter4805 And why were they not able to execute?? Because they played a better team....lol.
whatever they lost tom Herman
Very true. MSU wanted it more that night and OSU play calling was abysmal. They play like they did against TUN and ND all year they play for the title, but coulda, shoulda, woulda.
Win some, lose some.
Exactly why OSU beat Alabama and Oregon.
+Todd Thompson and thats exactly why Michigan st trashed oSucku with their second string qb
+Ja Crispy Better team didn't win. Ohio state will absolutely crush MSU this year, I promise that
+Ja Crispy 38-0. Our 8 rings to your 4 and you haven't won 1 in 50+ years. We lead the series 28-14, and you haven't beaten us in East Lansing since 1999. Meyer has NEVER lost a rematch game. Talk to me when you get on our level of talent and you're at least the best team in your state
Buckeye Nut calm down im not even an msu fan lol
He's actually 100% right
Michigan State is better
It's a well-reasoned analysis, but it's wrong. Reason: it didn't apply to the defense all year. Defense played great, including against Mich St. Only reason they gave up 17 was because they were on the field all night. Reason: offense horrible all year. Why? Defensive coaches returned. Huge change in offensive coaching staff. For whatever reason, the offense is demoralized. I can see one champion QB having a letdown but not both. It's coaching.
+BuckeyeNation! Hate to do this, but have to speak up for MSU. OSU had offensive troubles all season, but the wheels only came off against MSU, and that's because Dantonio is one of the best defensive coaches in the game. Maybe the best. Given that both OSU's scores were gift-wrapped by turnovers, it was OSU that was lucky to be in the game. OSU's offense was clearly outcoached by MSU's defense. With a decent offensive coordinator, OSU 9/10. With current coaches, maybe MSU 10/10.
+LardGreystoke , Dude what you said was somewhat true but I have to dissagree with MSU far superior on defense.... The play calling was gifted wrapped and MSU took advantage, Last year MSU defense was way better but this year they also looked subpar on offense this year.... OSU never really mixed it up and to honestly TTUN through out the First half of the season looked better than both teams and that's coming from an Ohio state fan.... What OSU did to them really made me see that
+LardGreystoke they OSU if given another game with them would OSU up by a couple TDs... Tom Herman and that should let everyone know because of offensive genious this year since the Meyer era as the lowest point total.... When Barrett last was given the opportunity last year to let the arm do most of the work it paid off and MSU couldn't stop and Elliot just ran wild.... The Buckeyes have become at too one deentionl
Why did he skip where Saban completely undermined the program by the 'easy schedule' horseshit twitter crap? Talking shit about a schedule - which effects players that have nothing to do with who they play - is pure cowardice. He might have 'won' the title this year, but let's remember: he talked trash about an OSU schedule, effectively a team that handed Alabama their ass last year, and then goes onto win it this year? Why did OSU earn the attention this year then... because if ALA would have done their crimson time-of-the-month against OSU it could have turned out a lot different. Surely better than MSU. Funny how that worked out, ain't it? BTW have any of us top 10/20 engineering or business school peeps spoken with ALA folks? I did in Austin TX when I lived there... yeah .....
Actually he's right, sure the play calls were bad no garbage, but it could also mean the coaching staff got cocky too and their apart of the team.
I told Buckeyes will lose to Spartans and they will lose to Harbaugh this Saturday.
lol
+xxHGMxx RFLMAO....... yeah ttun sure showed us didn't they? I mean, what a beat'down but hey, we got lucky right?
the reason they lost was because they killed the chemistry when they replaced cardale jones as the starting qb.
As a huge MSU fan, there was an insane amount of wind in that game which favored MSU's stellar run defense and allowed their young, inexperienced defensive backfield a break. Plus Urban called a terrible game. I never liked Ezekiel Elliot but he was 100% right after that game. Urban didn't give them a chance to win.
+I like how the letter 'b' in the word 'subtle' is subtle I was at the game. Crazy wind and cold rain. However, both teams have to play in it. Ohio State lost their offensive coordinator and it showed. The play calling was abysmal. Having said that, MSU played a great game and they probably wanted it more. On paper the buckeyes have more talent but that is why you play the game. Any team in college can loose on any given weekend. I wish MSU had a better game against bama. I am fairly sure the buckeyes would have matched up better.
1gallimaufry You're saying pretty much the same thing I'm saying, but you're right. MSU showed up to play, probably their best performance of the season.
a lot of people didnt know zeke was in the hospital like two days before that game and couldnt walk. the lack of tempo and zeke cost osu badly in this game but the osu receivers didnt help them any by not creating space and making plays down the field. at the end of the day msu simply played better than osu that night. i knew osu needed a loss at some point to change their sleep walking through games habit just wish it had been before msu.
+I like how the letter 'b' in the word 'subtle' is subtle You have officially the greatest name in CZcams history
Oh please MSU was the better team GO GREEN
No I disagree with this video. They lost the football game because of the incompetent coaching and play calling. The players played their hearts out. MSU only dominated the line of scrimmage when OSU was on offense and that was partly because of the play calling. MSU was playing offense the whole game and they still only scored 17.
+Halleluyoyo 12 carries was the problem
Scored only 17 points...with their second and third string quarterbacks...
...and held your offense to just 14
+Nathan Arent understand that if your offense is held to 14 points that means your defense is out on the field way too much.... That means their offense just has manage with their second and third Qb and hopes they come out on top.. in my opinion TTUN was better than MSU and caught a bad break.... TTUN woke Onto state up and would promise that MSU would catch a similar beat down like last year.... The problem was 80% play calling and 20% intitlement... Elliot 12 carries , come on now that's insane, then goes to Ann arbor with the second ranked defense and literally destroys them..... DMS
yeah they only scored 17 points but look at the lack of yardage OSU had
This is speculation. Also he starts to make an analogy with the Duke UNLV game and then he destroys his own analogy by saying Duke was the better team that day. So what's the point? The better team won so what did cockiness have to do with it? Maybe MSU would beat OSU if both teams were equally cocky, or beat them some of the time?
It's true, the ego and the lesser amount of hunger compared to last year were things that I have noticed all year. Things you notice when they're struggling to get by Indiana and such. I don't think that's the #1 reason they lost, though. To me, the #1 reason was offensive coaching. They lost on a last second field goal in a game they didn't trail until said field goal. Any kind of competent playcalling might have produced that one extra score that OSU needed to win. There's no reason the talent that OSU has should be held to 132 yards of offense by anyone. Bottom line - Tom Herman leaves, Tim Beck replaces him. Tim Beck clearly is no Tom Herman.
Michigan State isn't anything special. They got extremely lucky against Michigan. Not to mention Rutgers and their 4th down spike - two major boners by their opponents that allowed them to win in the end. Maybe they got screwed against Nebraska, but they were up 12 points with 4 minutes to go. Kind of on you if you let a team back in it in that scenario. I think they're going to get thumped by Alabama.
braxton miller wanted playing time??? he went to meyer and basically said ill help ya make the decision. let someone else play qb and ill become a wr in my last year in college. these people make stuff up as they go. the media and the media alone engineered the braxton transfering rumors.
Braxton's shoulder couldn't handle playing quarterback
BUD THE DUD SWALLOWS!!!!!!!!!!!
Alabama lost to a worse team then Ohio state
What happened to #FailForCardale , Browns fans?
Brian Kelley might be a better coach than Knute Rockne! Blah blah bah .... Hey kids, just trying to start an argument. Pay no attention to me.
wrong!!! the #1 n only reason they lost, is because of Tim Beck!!! ohio st gets a huge FAIL for hiring that guy. he doesnt kno how to call big games like this! players make up for his big errors in play calling. tim beck deosnt belong in D1.
osu definitely should've won that game. they were the better team
if they should have, they would have. the better team won. MSU!
Gage Whitman just like the better team won this year
As we know, the “better team” doesn’t always win on any given day for any number of factors. It’s why we love the sport.
ohio state wins national titles michigan state knows nothing about that. i heard dantonio called meyer to ask what winning a title was like.
+jasartrip9598 Oh, did someone get their little feelings hurt because MSU destroyed OSU's season again? Poor baby.
jasartrip9598 ... Ohio State only has 2 national championships the last 48 years. Geeeeezzzz....
