      Joe's act always involved audience interaction, he was always popular in the theatres but the big auditoriums were always in the distance. No doubt he made a great living and had a good life doing what he does, beats playing in bars and clubs. He'd have made a fortune on the Cruise Ships had he wanted.

    If you were listening to music in the 60s, do try to go to a Joe Brown concert. His performances are absolutely spot on. The shows come over as fresh and enthusiastic. I don't know whether it's at Joe's insistence, but the sound quality and levels are comfortable, i.e. it's a strong sound that won't make your ears bleed. So much live music today is made to sound like an overblown railway station Tannoy, devoid of all musicality. Unless Joe has gone deaf in the meantime and cranked up the pain control, then you are assured of a rhythmical and musical experience. That'll be 2 free tickets please Joe.

    What a great video and such a smashing bloke. He insisted on sitting with me at a Pink Floyd gig at the Rainbow in the 70s, coz I was the only other Londoner there and we were surrounded by some Scottish mates. I'd got a couple of seats near the sound mixer but Joe soon disappeared backstage where he got slightly sloshed in the bands dressing rooms ( very quickly) and returned with that beautiful smile he always has. Halfway through the brilliant (Dark Side of the Moon) show he said "my wife is singing up there", I asked which one is she "i can't see" was his reply.
    Not only did his wife Vicky have a great voice but their daughter Sam, who replaced her mum with PFloyd some years later, had a spectacular voice..... I had the pleasure of doing the stage sound with her on a couple of tours, meeting her guitarist brother Pete too, another smashing chap.
    What a lovely family.
    Joe was a HUGE influence on a whole generation, me too, and we will always be thankful for that. Rip Vicky.👍🇬🇧

    My wife and I saw Joe at the Palace Theatre Mansfield last Tuesday evening, we've grown up together both the same age, I've listened to his singing and fantastic musical talent as regards he can proberly play any stringed instrument on the planet, wish I could play my Guitar/Uke a fraction as him, and he still looks good better than his dad Marty Wilde Ha Ha, keep it up Sir Joe ( should be) I'll listen to you in my Dreams, God Bless, x

    I am hooked on this video,since I discovered it a few days ago. And to think I never heard of Joe Brown, before! What a fantastic band and I guess I didn't realize American country music was that big on the other "side of the pond" I enjoy this very much!

      If it weren't for Joe Brown meeting Eddie Cochran, there would have been no "Sound of Fury", no backstage jams with the Beatles (lessons to George Harrison) and no reason for other British working class kids to think they could be rock stars.

      @alfsmith4936 Před 2 lety +1

      Sorry.. I just realised Eddie Cochran isn't really classed as "country music" but he played a lot of "American country music" on plenty of sessions and it was pretty much him who taught Joe Brown how to play American country music (and rockabilly)

      @@alfsmith4936 Interesting how all the genre's of music that originated in the USA, in the 50's and 60's. B/C we were a "melting pot" of cultures and customs, and it magically all came together in the American South! Bands from other countries were influenced from USA and added their own ideas, they DID NOT invent it! All the credit goes to the music pioneers of America

      @@alfsmith4936 Yes, he was Rockabilly. Actually the music did originated from country and Southern Gospel music and Blues as Rock N Roll did. Very fun times to be in the music industry, well except for getting addicted to drugs & alcohol. I'm thinking of the creative side. of the 50's.

    Joe Brown - Fabulous top-line-professional artiste and a lovely gut to-boot! - I was honoured to have him 'produce' some of my-work in a Wellingborough Recording Studio. THANK YOU JOE. Thanks too, to your fabulous (sadly-deceased) wife, Vicky, and beautiful equally talented daughter Sam, who both worked with me on my ''Trucking-LP'' ... Jed Ford.

    Love Joe Brown ,I've seen him before he was famous playing in my brothers pub, I think they were called the spacemen, he was brilliant then, one of the first English rock'n' rollers & country music, he stayed with it unlike Tommy Steele, Cliff Richard, & others of that generation who left & came back because that music never dies.
