living in and near the lea valley area all my life I've become accustomed to these beauty's being around. The reasoning for my affection so far in my mind I put down to a few key facts. They have never changed their appearance or position at any point over my life. They are bold functional and a clear statement of necessity for modern life. Unlike the low profile of many other civil parts of great engineering slowly disappearing from the view of public domain. Water towers for example being slowly replaced for underground storage. Or street lights being converted to leds. Quieter commercial aircraft, Pylons make no apology, for being. The symmetry shapes and structure for me has calming effects for me almost like the way some music can alter my mood. Just in a visual way. A bright sunset during the golden hour and the view of them over water is heavenly. The 50hz hum of air being super heated over them when its dry reminds me of how much energy is being pulled through them. And the sound of the load when its raining is so exiting too. I believe I can feel the electro magnetism in my beard passing underneath them. The constant reminder although somtimes they may appear fragile from a distance and difficult to appreciate the sheer size of the structures. A simple encounter with one whilst on a walk or even the rare time I can park my truck under one never fails to give me a feeling of wow check this out.
I love the lattice work and geometrically intricacy of the structures ever since I was a kid I'm 53cand still love them. Standing like legions of skeletal soldiers marching off into the distance in their romanesque straightness. Also if you watch my video on my channel the isolated traveller you will see how much I love them. Geometry, engineering and art all rolled into one.
