  • Hola boys and girls !
    I made a long video with removal and replacement of wheel bearings, it didn't come out as I wished.
    I really need a new camera, a real one for making these videos.
    GoPros are only good for one thing, and that's for riding videos.
    I could use my iPhone, but very limited storage, but it would be much better picture, focus and overall quality.
    List of baiting sizes timestamp 05:14

    Great video! The cush drive bearing, unlike the main support bearings, have very little motion only there to accommodate the slight back and forth motion of the cush drive. Never seen a cush drive bearing fail. But, while it's all apart, replacing it is a good idea and easy.

    I have the bearings already at home in case a change is required. Thanks Marcus for the detailed instruction. I hope the winter in Sweden will be not too long 💙💛🏁🤛🏼

      Thats was my plan too, have had the kit for many many months 🤓, and I could probably ride a few k more before replacing them.
      But better to have a fresh bike for next year and not be bothered about it.

    Don't forget to put the darn spacer in during re-assembly. I cut two notches on the end of the spacer to allow a drift punch access to the bearing for removal. Turn the bearing numbers out if possible. Use a flat fender washer to help seat. Wooden dowel sticks come in handy. Good job Marcus, appreciate the vids. Cold as a well diggers butt. Thanks

    Hello . Just watching your good video my question is how many kms have on the bearings u changed ? I see 10.000 kms ? Do you ride the bike on rivers? To much pressure when washing? Or is normal at that kms to change . Thanks

      @everythingtenere  Před 8 měsíci

      You might be lucky and it will last for 30k km, I think if you ride it hard, rough terrain, wet, mud or winter weather + pressure washing it.
      Then 10k km’s is a good number.

    Hello, what kind of cleaner do you use ? Thanks for the good video

    • @everythingtenere
      @everythingtenere  Před rokem +1

      It’s a Swedish “biktema” brand called X50 or something. Cleans, protects and lubricate. But I also have a engine compartment power cleaner (degreaser).

    Much to much grease in the bearings! This will lead to overheating at higher speeds, and the grease will melt and you will end up with bearing seizure. Also important to use the right grease. There are no "Universal" grease. As there are no universal oil, one oil for all diesel-, petrol engines, gas turbines, compressors, hydraulic and so on... The grease has to be chosen for applikation, temperature and velocity. That if you will like to have a long bearing life.

    what are the intervals for changing the bearings? thank you

      it's very hard to put a number on.
      Some can ride for 30 000 km, some just 10 000 km. All depends on circumstance, weather, climate, salt, no salt, road, off road and how hard you bash the bike off road :)
      mine weren't shot yet 89 000 km, but I had some weird issue in the rear with my wheel axle and bearings very hard to turn.
      And as I smash throug shit every time I ride (pretty much), I just decided to replace them all, so no need next year.

      I do not have the Yamaha spare parts number, but I can look it up and put it in the vide description. But at 5:14 you have the sizes etc

      I added Yama PN's now. But they cost a lot more then a kit from OTR
