Hi.. I just done my 4D scan today. Received my maternity passport as well as the precious moments box.. its a new policy where all patients have to pay for this even if you have medical aid

You are lucky ey, I booked in August due in this month, I got the maternity passport and a book, we did the 4D scan as well. Had no idea that you receive this box as well.

How do you apply for this passport? I already received my auth from medical aid for delivery and I did my bed booking already. It doesn't day anywhere how to apply and where. I feel like I'm going round in circles

Hi Jane, yes I am on medical aid. You may contact the hospital you want to give birth at they will give you two quotations one for a standard natural birth and a C-section however there will let you know that should you or the baby have need further medical attention or have any complications the cost will raise and they don’t quote for that .

I registered two weeks ago at Netcare but didn't get a baby box, they just told me when I come to deliver ill get a baby bag.

I don’t know if they have changed their policy but the maternity passport I got says you should receive the box first , please check yours

Hey , I paid amount R900 for it . That was in November/December 2020 I gave birth in April. My Doctor told me about it and the front desk explained everything.
