This is the best and correct tutorial that I used when doing my F10 M5 filters. No need to mess with the battery, easy 40 minute job. Still easier than a P3 Volvo cabin filter where you have to move two fuseboxes. Trust me

I always run the charcoal filters on both cars.
You got lucky with this one not disconnecting the battery.
Why must one disconnect the battery for this job?
Not necessary at all. Knee airbag is activated via the airbag sensors. Why would moving it do anything.
