The only team I would say has had luck worse than them is the Blazers who got absolutely screwed by injuries going into their toughest stretch. And the Nuggets given two of their big 3 are out for the season. Other than that, the Cavs have had it ROUGH. If they just had similar luck to the Warriors, for example, they would be in a better place. Heck, the Bulls dodged the worst of their COVID outbreak cause the league delayed MULTIPLE games for them.

As far as them being a 5th or 6th seed I can see that, but they'll be a hard out for any of the top tier teams except the Bucks which is a bad match-up for cleveland. The Cavs are a Jalen Brown away from really being scary because Garland and Mobley will only get better. And god help everyone because them rumors of Lebron returning to retire as a cav is starting to surface again after next season. Guys, stop it... the vaccination’s no.1 purpose is to save your life & ideally avoid hospitalization. No.2 if you get the booster it gives you 70% protection against getting the virus. Meaning if you are exposed to it, in 7 out of 10 cases you will not get it.
You can still get and you can still pass it on. But you will not die and you are less likely to pass it on.
The whole point of vaccinating yourself is to make sure there are enough hospital beds so that the older and weaker among can be treated. Everyone will eventually get the virus unless you live on your own on a mountain top.

personlly i think it matters because i doubt James harden is resigning for this team if they don't make it to the finals with kyrie playing a part time role in the playoffs. consider also that they could just as easily match up with the raps NY knicks still and then kyrie gets to play zero playoff games.
bottom line, the Brooklyn nets ain't winning the chip without kyrie being a FT player and i doubt harden wants to spend the next 4 years dealing with a player like that
