- A memorial service with full police honors was held at Sevier Heights Baptist Church off Alcoa Highway in Knox County. After the service, a long procession took him to Grandview Cemetery in Maryville where he was laid to rest.

Yeah, they all get paid overtime, and a taxpayer vehicle to drive around in, so why wouldn’t they, also many people don’t know that a lot of them are actually made to go, by their department, so there’s that.

Not many of the 13% out there showing any respect …
I was out there and the people around me, we were showing respect… I haven’t watched this yet so I’m not sure what they have shown… but to be fair many of us got there hours before the procession showed up and then many of us didn’t realize how long the procession was going to last. It was very kind that so many officers showed up from all over, but we didn’t realize how many showed up. But I do know the people around me (minus some little kids which is to be expected) stood and showed respect the whole time silently.
This is sooo sad 😔 I hate that this happened to him 😢he was only doing his job.

I understand the kindness of the officers from out of town. But eight miles of police vehicles is a bit much. I am just thinking about the dude that killed officer McCowan - how many like him are getting away because of lack of officers?
Yeah, they all get paid overtime, a taxpayer vehicle to drive, and many of them are made to go by their departments.
I will definitely agree I was there and I didn’t expect it to be that long! When it finally got to me, it took over an hour from start to finish. I feel like all of Blount participated… maybe not though, but I can tell you that just a few of Alcoa and Maryville officers were in the procession which are inside of Blount county, so yes there were still officers working.
It's more like a lack of judgment.
