*PEOPLE NEED THE LORD *THE ALTAR
According to the Bible, the Altar is a special place for an encounter w/God, to give thanks, &
maintain a strong relationship w/the God of Israel.
SO MANY OTHER THINGS THE HOLY BIBLE SAYS ABOUT THE ALTAR ARE:

Building an altar means that we offer everything we are & have to God
Altars were places where the divine & human worlds interacted
Altars signify a representative of the Lord and burnt offerings the worship of Him
The Altar & its utensils were considered to be sacred, & the priests had to vest & wash their hands
before touching them.
An Altar call is a tradition in some Christian churches where individuals who wish to make a new
spiritual commitment to Jesus Christ are invited to come forward publicly. The name “Altar call” originates from the fact that supplicants gather at the Altar, which is typically located at the front of
the church building. Most Altar calls occur at the end of an evangelical address. During an Altar
call, people have the opportunity to respond to the Gospel message, accept Christ, repent of sin,
seek help or healing/ seek wisdom in difficult situations.
While the Bible does not explicitly describe something resembling an Altar call as part of a New
Testament service, it does provide an opportunity for people to respond to the Gospel or the
prompting of the Holy Spirit. When used correctly, an Altar call serves as a healthy time for corporate and private prayer and reflection. So, it’s essentially an invitation for individuals to come
forward & express their commitment to their faith or seek spiritual guidance. 🙏
FOR MANY YRS WE WITNESSED THAT WHEN THE FATHERS/MEN PRAYED AT THE ALTAR, THEY:

Approached the person w/love & kindness.
Asked the person if they needed prayer for anything specific.
Held the hand/placed their hands on the person's back or forehead & prayed for them.
Asked the Holy Spirit to guide them in prayer.
Prayed for God’s will to be done in the lives of the people (visitors & church members).

When giving an Altar call, anyone belonging to the leadership team takes upon the responsibility to
pray for those who have responded. It's important to adopt an attitude of confident, aware,
expectedness, & not to massage away the conviction of the Holy Spirit.
It's also very important to prepare yourself first.
