- After nine months of training, 216 new members of the Brigade of Gurkhas passed out of training in Catterick, and into the Field Army.
Gurkhas are recruited in Nepal in a gruelling selection process, having to beat thousands of other candidates eager to get a place at basic training in the UK.

I had the privilege of working with the Gurkhas in Belize in 1987 when I was the boss of No 1417 Flight RAF. They are some of the best soldiers in the world 🇬🇧🇳🇵
Same time as me, Pete but I was 1563. Met some ace Gurkhas and their nosh was not too shabby either.

They Gurkhas played a huge part in British army military history... congratulations to them for passing out.
Yeah n they get f u CK all thanks for it. Cept a deportation flight to Rawandi.
English is not my native language, and I thought that the title says that the Gurkha is extremely proud of losing his consciousness in the parade. I was looking forward to hear why...
@Horn Piper Let me guess. You are a Russian?
@Horn Piper Actually substance use disorders are more prevalent in the USA than in the UK (6.01% vs. 5.42% of the population in 2019) [source: Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation, Global Burden of Disease (2019)]. Are you sure you didn't get the other parts of your comment wrong too?
@Horn Piper Perhaps you should then have used the better intelligence of yours to study the subject of intelligence a little. It's a scientifically proven fact that different nations of the world don't differ in their intelligence. Europe with its welfare is one of the most advanced and prosperous areas in the world, There are a lot of differences between different areas of Europe, though, because Europe is a continent, not a country. Countries like Germany, France and Netherlands differ greatly in prosperity from countries like Albania, Serbia and Bulgaria.
Never forget the service and sacrifice the Gurkha's have given to the British army! Congratulations!
The service this unit has given is humbling
Magnificent. Wish we could double their number.
Congratulations men. Mighty warriors, one and all. 👍🇦🇺
Congratulations to all of these dedicated men. Our country should be proud of you all.
Congrats to all the Gurka graduates. Well done chaps and carry on!
It's a much longer road for the gurkha, just to get there.
Well done gentlemen.
Congratulations to every single Gurka who was in this passing out parade. I'm proud to have you serving our country. Thank you so much for your service, now & in the future. I wish you all the very best.
Well done gents, outstanding effort
Good job, lads!
They should have full rights. They fought with us. Good luck to you all.
They do now, thanks in no small part to Joanna Lumley.
@@stephensmith4480 bless her heart. The Gurkhas have absolutely deserved it
@@stephensmith4480 true.
Their pensions was a right rip-off
@@user-ir7os6wh1w 💯% my friend. Joanna`s father was a major in The 6th Gurkha Rifles during WW2. The late Tulbahadur VC saved his life in Burma. He also served alongside another Gurkha VC recipient, the late Lachhiman Gurung.
A soldiering love affair ... So glad we have the lethal energy of these wonderful men ... And women
There are female Gurkhas, really?
@@johnnunn8688... Last time I checked, the good and hardy young women of Nepal were fighting for the right to become selected for the Ghurkas,
I imagine a few of them probably are very hardy.
There are no female Gurkhas.
There are Nepalese females in the British military but not as Infanteers.
@@JammyDodger45 Well actually they can go for the test now, Just have to pass it

I never said they couldn't join.
I said there aren't any.

Gurkhas 💪💪💪💪
They're good soldiers and proud to be part of the British army.
Well done!! Remember that you now embody a VERY proud, and unique history within the British Army - so make yourselves, the UK, and your homeland proud!! There are NONE better than the Gurkhas!! 👍
Honestly feels like an honer to be apart of the same military as these men . Their training , skills and integrity is of the highest standard .
honour :) what is your Corps?
My Grandfather served alongside them in the Great War. He said they were the fiercest fighting men he'd ever seen. I'm glad to see the tradition continues. Congratulations to the new members of the Brigade of Gurkhas.
Excellent and highly disciplined soldiers!!!
Congrats lads.
Congratulations lads! 👍
Always got to have respect for the gurkhas 👍👍👍
Thanks bro .
These guys are special - they (quietly) demand respect.
There are no better soldiers in the world. 👍
So much respect for these men, people of the uk don’t realise these men are true definition of professional British solider.
Haven’t seen anything about a guards passout in a while on this channel 🤔
Congratulations to intake 2022 and Bikram Karki 🫡
Good bless the people of Nepal 🏴👍😄
Respect. These guys are tough as nails.
I worry sometimes about our military, but I'm both proud and grateful to know that we have the support of the Gurkha regiments.
Lots of respect for the Gurkas!
Worked with the Gurkhas in a NATO rotation in Korea. The British officers told them not to associate with the Americans because we would be arrogant towards them. Once they learned that we liked them they warmed up to us. They're great soldiers and I still have a Ceremonial Kukri gifted to me by the youngest Gurkha in their unit.
Congratulations all
Extremely good soldiers.... US Army special forces.. Combat vet.
Very professional, fierce warriors
Thanks for your service and for this comment.
Some of the finest👍. Congratulations chaps.

Gurkha's achievements in battle speak for an outstanding very brave part of the British Army. I would love to recruit Gurkhas to my own Country.
They put effort into making those blades so shiny looking.
An old clique but very true about the Gurkhas: The best of the very best

We have Gurkha regiment in India army too.👍
Magnificent soldiers 🇬🇧 forever
The UK government will let in hordes of Islamic savages under “multiculturalism” instead of awarding citizenship to these loyal warriors. Shame.

did these guys get their pensions back? i remember them having some protests a while ago
Yes they did I`m pleased to say. Joanna Lumley fought long and hard for these Brave men. They now can also stay in the UK and obtain British citizenship, if they so desire when their service is over.
@@stephensmith4480 thats great news. thanks for the info
Never seen any other race so eager to prove their loyalty to others.
The Gurkhas have a distinguished history with the UK. I understand there are Indian, Burmese. Brunei , and even Singaporean Gurkha serving, with over 20,000 applying for under 200 positions in the UK per period, why can't or don't those not selected join other armies? I'm sure other nations with foreign troops would take them given their reputation?
How many serve at the moment?
They are basically mercenaries... Will work wherever they are well paid..
Are you telling you get money after working congratulations you discovered economy
Till Interest from both sides are fullfilled the legacy will continue..
Are they the Queen's or King's Gurkha's?
I came looking for someone passing out. This was disappointing.
Interesting that the Gurkha officer carrying the trophy has HALO wings, didn’t realise any Gurkhas had served with the Hereford lot
You all get a 👍💪from me !
Pass out for a foreign King. Congratulations.
The male narrator sounds like a woman. Bravo to the Gurkhas. Real men.
first part was a bit unnecessary. you sound quite miserable
Why are the Gurkhas paid much less than the ordinary British Soldiers.
they have had equal pay since 2007
these lads willingly give their life for you . thus please triple their salary to make it three quarter from their brits regular colleagues. thank you
Second to none........
@ECRP I thought the Grenadier guards were the first in precedence, but what's in a motto?🤔
British Army = SAS and the Gurkas most famous
I wonder if the US will one day recruit the afghans for their fighting prowess
Rai limbu Magar gourang only gorkha
Why can’t Nepal train their soldiers well ? Why do they have to go to UK
they don't have to, they want to
Gurkhas must be given citizenship and same pay and pension as the British who served in the armed forces stop the discrimination against the Gurkhas
i thought this has been true since 2006? any soldiers that retire after that year are guaranteed the same. i think the issue is for veterans that retired before the change.

Now that there is talk of participation, they should include Nepalese women, they could start for nursing and administrative, then it would be seen for combat, we are in the 21st century
women are allowed in the british army, but due to the cultural differences of Nepal they cannot serve with the ghurkas. maybe in the future.
