I took that picture of you at your desk when I worked there 1984/85!
It was In Wilton with Carol, Rob, Dennis, Kurt, Polly and John etc... What a blast!
It was the only job ever when I looked forward to Monday mornings.

This reminds me of every annual conference I had in high tech. Very similar "we're a family" vibe. It was a wonderful ride, and a wonderful experience working with scrappy startups that eventually IPOed. That said...I'm so glad I'm out and working for myself now. Once the firm hits 1,000 employees the bureaucracy starts to set in, and the "true believers" and "architects" leave...(as evidenced here by all the originals moving on). I pray Ray keeps this private, and never sells. It's what will keep the business pure. IPOs and acquisitions kill the 'magic."
One can't sell a hedge fund
@@marcwhite6267 Yes you can. Some private equity firms with hedge funds are public companies. It's the distinction between "investors" in the fund and "equity owners" of the fund. There is no contradiction.

@@kevinscheetz192 I m in electrician was in the private sector making $25 an hour. Went UNION, we got a government contract to work for Google . Now making $70 an hour!!! Crazy simply Crazy

It's great to see that at some time in someones life that success can be had and grown for all involved. Your hard work and the efforts of your team are more than inspirational.
Myself, I'm at the point of possible foreclosure and bankruptcy. For the better part of the last 30 years working in my business everyday to only be defeated by my own failures of not being greedy enough to work more and charge much more for my services. It's sad that I have put my customers first and me and my family second. Obviously, I'll forever be a loser when compared to uber rich people like you.

Cycle after cycle, on the era of the passage… We've always defined ourselves by the ability to overcome the impossible. And we count these moments. These moments when we dare to aim higher, to break barriers, to reach for the stars, to make the unknown known. But we don’t forget the unknown, “the change”, that change is the first building block of evolution.
I will work for this company one day. I haven't seen a better environment to deeply understand yourself and others, grow as a person and explore the world. I believe that it is not just about making money, it's about figuring out how the world works and using investing as a tool to extract value from that understanding while developing close relationships and ultimately a meaningful life. All of which fit amazingly in the context of evolution. I hope that the people in charge manage to do as well or better than Ray.

Remember reading about Bridgewater for the first time in WSJ some 15 years ago... Maybe the fakest news/article I ever read...it gave a totally different vibe as if it was filled with 🦈 and Lambo bros, but what I see now are some genuinely nice and sharp people. 🙂👍
