That is the best game I have ever seen in my life! The plot actually makes sense, the graphics are good and the game has original puzzles and good gameplay.
I theorize that the monster in the game is the Mom, the maniac is just the side character who is mentioned and that he kidnapped and killed Lucy.
In the game, it mentions she beats him and also blames him for what is happening in her life. Plus, the writing on the wall says "it is your fault".
The game is Louis's point of view of his home, his situation, and his mother who was abusive to him, even when the father was still around and the daughter (Mom's favorite child) was still around, alive and well. It just it got worse overtime as maniac kidnapped and possibly killed Lucy, and also her husband's suicide (I assume father got hands on himself from grief).
The ending is the monster killing him. That could symbolize the mother killing Louis in the end, out of anger and just because she doesn't care about him.
I think this game is an amazing portrayal of favoritism in families and what it leads to.
