The Lone Ranger is a fictional masked former Texas Ranger who fought outlaws in the American Old West with his Native American friend, Tonto. The character has been called an enduring icon of American culture.
The Lone Ranger was named so because the character is the only survivor of a group of six Texas Rangers, rather than because he works alone (as he is usually accompanied by his Native American companion Tonto). While details differ, the basic story of the origin of the Lone Ranger is the same in most versions of the franchise. A posse of six members of the Texas Ranger Division pursuing a band of outlaws led by Bartholomew "Butch" Cavendish is betrayed by a civilian guide named Collins and is ambushed in a canyon named Bryant's Gap. Later, an Indian named Tonto stumbles onto the scene and discovers one ranger is barely alive, and he nurses the man back to health. In some versions, Tonto recognizes the lone survivor as the man who saved his life when they both were children. According to the television series, when Tonto left the Reid place with a horse given him by the boy Reid, he gave Reid a ring and the name Kemo Sabe, which he said means "trusty scout". Among the Rangers killed was the survivor's older brother, Daniel Reid, who was a captain in the Texas Rangers and the leader of the ambushed group. To conceal his identity and honor his fallen brother, Reid fashions a black domino mask from the material of his brother's vest. To aid in the deception, Tonto digs a sixth grave and places at its head a cross bearing Reid's name so that Cavendish and his gang would believe that all of the Rangers had been killed.
In many versions Reid continues fighting for justice as The Lone Ranger even after the Cavendish gang is captured. - Zábava
That was made in 1955. I was 4 years old when that was made. Nearly 66 years ago. Still love the Lone Ranger and Tonto. Rest in peace Mr. Clayton Moore and Mr. Jay Silverheels. Your bodies are gone, but you still live on as the Lone Ranger and Tonto in these films.
I was 2.
I was not even born yet in Guatemala but as a kid I loved the show but at 56 year old still watch it every day
Great show
@@jorgedelcid2870 They don't make good shows like that anymore.
I was Negative 4!
@@jorgedelcid2870 Me too I'm 56 too and been watching this since I was about 9 yrs old and will forever watch.
I've noticed that Silverheels often dismounts his horse while it is still galloping. He must have been quite the horseman.
Boy was this show ever low budget. Efficiency like that is a lost art.
Imagine...two great legends meet face to face. ZORRO and the LONE RANGER
Imagine that - Zorro on the Lone Ranger. :-) Loved them both. Glad Zorro wasn't a bad guy...
In 1970 I was 4 and watched Mr Ed and the lone ranger on my palomino stick horse with my six shooter strapped on.
Guy Williams as the sheriff.
I always preferred clayton Moores lone ranger over the other one. ..
Notice the sheriff is “Guy Williams” who was the father in Lost In Space
Uzy Christensen Before that Guy Williams played TV's Zorro and the masked Zorro character was an inspiration to the creators of the Lone Ranger.
And Zorro😎😀👍💣✌
Michael Pastorkovich zorro was in 1957. After Lone Ranger ended. Maybe the Lone Ranger inspired Zorro.
Was also on Bonanza in 6 or 7 episodes.
@@private15 The Lone Ranger character first appeared in 1933. The Zorro character first appeared in 1919. So.
I just saw an episode of " The Lone Ranger" on The Cowboy Channel that was made in 1949. That was even before we had a television set. We got one in 1952 and I could watch this show. Looking back to those old shows that taught values I can see what is missing in todays programs. 🎈🎈
Touché
Too bad that The Cowboys Channel stopped showing The Lone Ranger on weekday mornings.
Guy Williams playing the sheriff. Named Will.
Professor John Robinson’s great grandfather met the Lone Ranger and Tonto. Guess son Will was named after him.
Guy was also known for performing as Don Diego de la Vega/Zorro for The Walt Disney Company. He had a companion, too. Unlike Tonto, Bernardo could not speak whatsoever.
😂
zorro ya moron
Love the show. Thanks
Watching the love struck sherif make a fool of himself over a woman who obviously doesn’t care for him at all was a reminder of my ex wife.
Then , as I typed this watching, it is revealed that she’s in the gang of crooks.
Love the Lone Ranger.
Thanks
The Sheriff is the Zorro by Disney and the father in Lost in Space. Guy Williams.
EMMETT'S BACK!
Thanks for uploading this episode
One of my favorite episodes.
Gracias....
Thank you!
Guy Williams starred in Zorro, 1957-1959.
No wonder Mr. Williams is the sheriff. He has my heart under cardiac arrest.
Down girl!😂
Yes Guy Williams was an attractive man especially in Zorro.
Guy Williams is hot!
You mean he was stunning. He passed away in 1989 and Clayton Moore passed away ten years later.
So hot he was smokin like his gun.
@@lauragraves4342 Down girls! 😂🤪
21:15 Sooo Handsome!
Great films of lone ranger 👏
"A horse with the speed of light". - How can anyone still be so unaware of the of the speed of light and of horses? - JZ, 13.2.22.
Sheriff is wearing Dan Reid's hat
05:25 What is he complaining out? His ticket got upgraded!
funny thing - when I was a kid, i felt so important when I figured out what Lone Ranger looked like without his mask...
04:47 Good thing the driver was wearing dark pants!
That’s not the same scout the usually used 😂 he is much bigger boned and almost as tall as silver
Lone Ranger and Zorro together.
The Sheriff in this episode was in the series Lost in Space. I don't know his name. He was a little younger in this episode of the Lone Ranger.
Guy Williams
21:11 "And, Sheriff, you got me for a girlfriend, son!"
I have seen this one
When the sheriff takes the news he is a blind fool
The cowgirl would have switched out of her split riding skirt for the Lone Ranger's sleek riding pants, tall boots & gun leathers but her cowboy outlaws " blew " that opportunity for her. She would have look foxy & sassy in those stretch stirrup pants of his !
Down boy! 😂

Too many ads.
They really 'ad'd up.
That's funny.
Hi HO Nihonium oops SILVER
Guy Williams also was a.cop on Highway Patrol in a few episodes.
The Lone Ranger seems to have a profound knowledge of affairs of the heart and yet….what was his own experiences of love? Maybe under the balmy night skies, he finds all the comfort he needs in the arms of Tonto. And for Tonto it is the same. There is perhaps an opportunity for a new movie chronicling The Lives and Loves of The Lone Ranger and Tonto.
She wasn't pretty to me. In fact I thought she was just a step or two above homely.
I didn’t like her right away
