I love the house. People have to understand, settlers back in 1840, were self sufficient. Went to town, maybe once a year. Had chickens, pigs, milk cow, horses and utility wagon, plows. God Bless them. They made a strong, self reliant nation, called America The Beautiful.
and very racist. Dont forget the racism
@@Angry_Anus 🙄
Sounds like he is!
@@Angry_Anus racist people are exist in every country even when you live in one of African country or Asian or Arabs country some people there are racist too..
Give the price so I know if it's worth my time to look at!!
It sold for $225,000. I wished we had 100 of these - people LOVE this place.
Brad Simmons, I love it... is there a waiting list for the next one? Say about another 152yrs from now?
All kidding aside... that is a gorgeous property. Thanks for the walk through!
You can't buy a house here for under $400,000.00
hi brad, i like to do a scale model of the cabin, have you measurements or plans ? is a wonderfull cabin, greetings from argentina !
Until spring rains.
Brad Simmons me too
Again, this guy is such a good salesman. He really knows how to get you excited for the property.

Its truly beautiful. Trying not to imagine what the creek looks like when theres flood or getting to the cabin after the snow storm.
Now this is the cabin i could move in right in this moment.
I've seen this video a dozen times and I'm always overwhelmed with the beauty of the landscape and the character of the house. Well done.
me too!
Your fixing to see it a dozen more times, everyone loves to view the well maintained road.
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Beautiful 💞 if we get it You all are invited 🙂
You couldn’t be any more accurate, Isabel..Thank YOU!!🇺🇸
I'd die happy to be able to live in a home like that.
Yes me too and be somewhere where not a lot of people around to be busy bodies.
Oh wow! So beautiful! I live out in a rural area so the roads don’t bother me, I understand why this is such a special property! Whoever is lucky enough to buy this I truly hope they treasure it! I once thought I would live in the city, but I was raised a country girl, and once a country girl, always a country girl! There is absolutely nothing like the sound of nature surrounding you! Beautiful property!
Is this connected to the city water supply or does it have a well and cistern? It probably has a septic tank sewage system that would need Ridd treatment once a month.
@@ganymeade5151 - 'probably' has a septic system? ya think? lol
That's right we country folk don't get scared of a road that's why we own 4x4 trucks and 4 wheelers because we know how to survive unlike those city people get scared of a little water on the road lol!!
Love everything about this cabin, the scenery, the kitchen, the fireplaces, etc. I could imagine myself living here, Thanks for sharing.
Actually the saying “God willing and the Creek don’t rise” is a southern saying talking about the Creek Indians from back in the old days when there was a distinct possibility of a Creek uprising at the time and it is something that has just stuck down here.
Were they the Cree Indians?
madogalpha1 Wow, thank you for that information! I had to look into it and it's amazing how things get twisted around over time.
Yes, so now I had to look it up, fascinating stuff. Benjamin Hawkins, an Indian agent (principle agent for the Creek Indians) is noted for this phrase. He (b15aug1754-d6jun1816) was a planter, statesman, delegate in Congress and a Senator- NC. appointed by President George Washington as General superintendent of Indian Affairs(1796-1818 / but he died suddenly in 1816)... he negotiated one of the longest running peace treaties with the Indians... but unfortunately the Indians were losing so much land, they had an uprising coinciding with the War of 1812... the Creek war 1813 - 1814, Andrew Jackson defeated the Red Sticks (Indians from the Creek Indians that formed The Red Sticks) in the battle known as the Battle of HorseShoe Bend. Interesting history ... I found two really nice sources just learning this by reading about it from this post. A wealth of knowledge our internet today, the biggest library at our fingertips;)

Wow!!! That's awesome. I have heard the saying but never knew that's what it meant. Thank u for the info.
I live in Louisiana and I do believe it refers to water.
It may have been shot ten years ago, but this is still one lovely home and property. I am sure those who purchased it a decade ago have had a nice life here and have made many priceless memories for all those who have spent time here.
This reminds me of getting off the beaten path in pigeon forge 💜💜 these old homesteads are so beautiful
Thank YOU! Your love for your work and what you represent and your desire to match these homes with people who will cherish and appreciate them. Really, it is God's work.
This property keeps me coming back and I still think it's so awesome. Someday maybe, I'd live out my days there, grinning the whole way... forget-a-about it
I use to live in a spot out in the country where you had to have 4 wheel drive to get up the drive way and it was 1 way in & 1 way out across 2 creeks. The beginning of this video when he was driving in it reminded me so much of my old farm house. I really miss living in the country...
It is beautiful. So peaceful.

OMG!!!!!!! THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I HAVE SAW YOUR CHANNEL. AND I LOVE THIS HOME. SO BEAUTIFUL. I WOULD LOVE TO RAISE MY GRANDSON HERE. SO BEAUTIFUL IT MAKES ME GET TEARS IN MY EYES.
You do a great job of showing us around beautiful properties. Thanks, Brad!
tears in my eyes. . . if I can't find something like this near the Sierras, I see a move in my future. . feels like home just looking from here. .
Thank you for this video. The land is so beautiful, the creek, the rocks, and the rustic look is what I love.
Gorgeous! The land and Sugar Creek Cabin. 😍💚
This has to be the fifth time I have seen this [place and each time I fall in love with it all over again. The setting and house is so up my ally that I wish the first time I saw in on the realtor's website, I should have bought it.
Beautiful and rustic. Lovely cabin, stream, grounds. Songbirds probaby sing beautifully in the spring. Heaven.
Now this is the place to live! Country is the way to go! Love this place! Wow!
I love that garden,, id create another stone wall a bit further up, clear the brush and then turn it into a veg garden,, rebuild the barn. Have some goats and chickens.. that house is my dream omg
Take that old barn and build a guest cabin with whatever wood you could salvage !
breathtaking......
I would love and be so grateful to own and live in a place like this! So beautiful and peaceful!
This house is stunning. Definately feels like home.

What about the sewage ? I dont' believe any sewer lines could be accommodated . Are out houses the solution ?
@@dorothyholder9229 So I guess that bathroom upstairs is just for looks... ever heard of a septic tank? There are no sewer lines out in the country!
That home is so real!!!!

this is so beautiful. It would be neat to sit by the creak real late at night or early morning. Thanks for sharing this.
Absolutely beautiful! Such a charming cabin.
Some homes [not “…Houses!”] have Character. This is one of the few I’ve EVER seen that has it SO BEYOND that quality..!!! I’m in my 60’s now & grew-up running around my Grandad’s Southeastern GA Sawmill, where he repurposed 100+ year aged Southern Yellow Heart Pine into flooring for multimillion dollar homes. For him, it was a lifelong passion. I’ve inherited that love of aged timber used & reused for Americana’s Heritage ~ this dream site suits such visions! Thank You, Brad, for sharing this with the whole of us… 🇺🇸
PS: Majesty’s definition lies in these woods, stones, earth, water and human toil & sweat.., IF you were to take just one of those elements, this Majestic Homestead would fall into ruin. Thank The Lord that this Home has remained kept!🇺🇸
The people who built this house would, no doubt, be pleased to see its still treasured today.
This was deLIGHTful. Just a sweet, sweet cabin, and the setting is just gorgeous. I have loved my New York City life for these past several decades, but as things slow down within me, I think more about having things slow down ~around~ me too! Wasn't really thinking about going as far as KY, but (from previous visits, as well as from this video) it is a beautiful place. Keep the great videos coming, Brad, you're giving just that right combination of information and personality (and hamminess) to the task. Thanks!

What was it listed for BRAD SIMMONS The property in the video?
Marc A Gagnon - It sold for 395k if I recall correctly.
Beautiful would love to live there
Brad Simmons wish it was here in Texas.
So when it snows, does the county come out and blade the road so you can get out?
I love this place inside and out it is very nice. Some years ago my father built one he got his off of other cabins. He could lay bricks so he did the hearth with rocks he got out of his creek.
What a peaceful place to live I love the coziness of the house and the sound of the creek.
Love the solitude you'd get there, it's a beautiful place !!! I'd become a hermit and I'm an artist so it's perfect !!!♥️
☮️🙏💜
Oh my, absolutely beautiful.
I live in a little neighbor hood kinda like that. I do have houses next door to me, but I have lots of woods and a creek right behind my house that I am blessed to see every morning. All the wildlife and beauty nature displays. My neighborhood is very quiet. So whenever I go down to the creek, it's nice and peaceful
That park area is nice to place some patio furniture to have some afternoon tea!!💗🤩🤩🤩
My goodness! This is my ideal. How beautiful.
Absolutely breathtaking!!! I’m from Florida so to have a creek like this to be able to enjoy without having to worry about an alligator jumping out and making a meal out of small (and sometimes large) pets would be great. 😂😂
I’m from Florida as well and loved this video. I would definitely move there in a second. Florida has gotten too busy for me and I’m ready for the solitude!
that barn came alive for me also could really feel the clever work man ship
I love your videos. They are so relaxing. I can blast my music and nobody can hear and complain
"Why am I whispering? I don't know why I'm whispering." 😂 Magical home and land ✨🌲🌄🌲✨ Thank you for sharing 💚
I love stuff like this. That Creek just made the whole place. Love it. That Dutch door is awesome too. 😊😃
What a beautiful landscape !!!!
Love, love, love this place! 💖
Love the Cabin its just too dark inside for my taste. I would of added bigger windows so you can enjoy the outside scenery awhile being inside with a nice view and also for more light. The drive to it was intense but it's the perfect place for privacy and peace. I would love to vacation at a place like that. Amazing!
Just watching the video relaxed me!! I am from the Midwest and the wife and I are planning on relocating in a few years to the country again!! Thx for the most perfect videos!!
Good retreat for writer/artist, or refuge from hustle-bustle, takes you back to simpler life same as 1840. Neat as a pin inside. You can see where the dog scratched at the front door. Maybe the creek's deep enough to cool off in the summer. Great place to loaf around, get away from it all.
This is a nice property.... and the most enthusiastic real estate agent I have ever heard 🇨🇭🇫🇷🌺😊
this is a beautiful property
I love this

This is a beautiful place and it’s huge, a place of serenity, I wouldn’t want to leave it!
I just knew at any minute you were going to say" and this happy little tree lives here, sure"
This is so beautiful! The property is awesome and I love the cabin. I see some things I would definitely change to suit my own style, for instance wrought iron spindle on the stairs and a few other things. Otherwise it’s a perfect little cabin that I would love to own!! It’s fantastic!

This is absolutely amazing!! You've just gotta appreciate the natural beauty & history. Thanks for sharing bro. I'd never sell a place like that...from generation to generation.
Perfect Point, @ Forward_Ever &_Ever! I’ve been given the Honor (from my Maternal Grandmom!) to keep & preserve one of our’ ancestors’ “War Between The States” / “War of Northern Aggression” letters from 1863 [Manasas, Virginia] …and just as you stated about this home, I too feel about “..natural beauty & history.” Be they homesteads and/or historical documents. As an aside, my ancestor feared not those awful.50 cal. rounds, but getting wet from rain ~ causing the lingering & suffering death that pneumonia brought!🇺🇸

Years later watching it again. It is my all time favorite property. I came to wonder what did it go for? I just showed it to my husband, he went oh yeah! Lets move from Norway. LOL :D It is beyond gorgeous.
Brad, thank you so much for sharing this truly beautiful property. I owned mountain property in the San Juan Mountains of CO and just can't seem to veer from returning there. Your video almost made me reconsider. Great video and I even like the road leading into the property as it would make looky lou's turn around. I'm searching for seclusion.

Omg this is by far a dreamy place. I think I could live here despite a couple things that are uncomfortable. How beautiful!!!
This would be a nightmare to drive to/from in the winter with snow, ice, etc... the cabin in gorgeous though
@ Island Chick....Yep, in the winter, the snow and ice would be a nightmare on that small road. And what about flooding around the cabin ? And, what if you needed emergency
services ? Would take the police or ambulance "forever" to assist you. I really like the cabin, but too far removed for me.
Not if your from N Wisconsin or Minnesota . Easy Peasy Lemon Squezzy
Know that you have to adapt your lifestyle to live this way. Work from home or self employed? Central Kentucky can get some winter weather but it won’t be on the ground long. More of an inconvenience than a problem. If you take an income hit that may work out since your taxes and other expenses go down. Your wood stove saves energy money. Have a nice manageable garden then can in the summer. Wish it was mine!
@@theejoeylee ......Oh yeah, you guys up there in the northern states get some treacherous winter weather. I am sure you have grown accustomed .
