Bought with your link, it’s the least I can do
Getting it !
Are you sure the link works bro? Redirect looks like you won’t get any %
@@JasperEllens good spot 😊
@@DMProductions 👌🏻 but hmm, it says ‘prodcution’ type o?
Why no CZcamsr stresses the point that the only combo you can buy is with the motion controller, which does not let you fly in manual. For me this is a big BS. You buy a product and 1/3 of the functionality is locked, until you pay another 150 EUR for another controller.
Also doesn’t even come with a charger.
This really is the down fall of this drone. Ive been flying rc quads and plans for nearly 15 years and i would have zero use for the motion controller.
You can buy it seperate
I love this freakin drone, but everything mentioned on this thread I agree with. Just gonna have to price up my own setup bc 2gs for the drone, remote, and fly more it too much.
@@kodycheyne DJI Avata everyone wants one but please recall it and reengineer it to be very quiet like all the other mavic products! You know that a loud drone is going to anger everyone when flown in neighborhoods and all it takes is a few people to bring down the wrath of the FAA that will ground all these Avata drones permanently! Be smart, be kind and work some engineering magic 🪄 please! The Avata could be what ruins the fpv hobby for everyone #pleasefixit
What a great intro! Well what can I say, you sold it to me so I brought one with extra battery combo!!!! All YOU have to do now is explain my purchase to my wife!!! Good Luck!! 😳😬 Subscribed! 😉🙃
Haha 😂 awesome Bobby! Just say it will allow you to get some really nice memories of you both… 😊😊😂 good luck 🤞
I dont fly fpv but hearing a lot about the durability of the Avata makes me feel like I'd be more confident to fly it more than any other drone.
Looks like a dji ad the cinematic part so good quality !! What camera do you use ?
My mind wants this but my wallet after buying the Mini 3 Pro with absolutely all the accesories and more , my wallet hates me 😂
But I do consider trying FPV drones after recovering a bit. This one really looks ideal for beginners. Great review and I hope to see more of this! FPV flying looks impressive and imersive
This would be a great little combo, mini 3 and avata. Two very good small drones but have own advantages ! Thanks for watching
Oh wow !! That intro !!! 😯😯😯😯
thank you bro
Best I’ve seen
So new Google’s = 20 less fps a second slow mo in 2k
2km range in Europe where the v2 have 6km ? I’ve ordered the pro view but is there any reason you can give why I should keep this and not downgrade to the smart combo ? Sounds like the “smart “ choice
Good Review. DJI Continues To Fleece Everyone Out Of More Money. Thank You Darren.
I also have the DJI fpv
Purchased the Avata yesterday and it's a great addition to my FPV addiction hehe
Horses for courses
Love the video! Well presented as usual. Great to bump into you last night (Friday). What a mad coincidence. I'd just been watching your unboxing video before we left the house 👍
Haha yes always good to bump into people! Hope you had a good time and survived Blackpool! 😂
I dig the propeller impact guards, but if you already have the old smart controller and either white or black re goggles you can fly FPV on a mini 2 via HDMI.
If you have the expensive DJI RC pro remote you can fly FPV on a mini 3 via HDMI.
I do like the look of those light weight adjustable goggles though, I’m defiantly up for a pair of those if they ever allow them to connect to other drones.
Really enjoy your videos, keep up the good work.
Thank you 🙏 yes the new goggles are great, I do love the v2 goggles a lot but for travelling around these new ones are brilliant I hope more updates for them come soon
Oh my, gonna get this, easy for beginner and new early CZcamsr
Yes it’s a perfect way to get into fpv, hope you enjoyed the video
Can you also use the DJI Mini 3 pro Controller?
Does it have geo fence. Where I live is abit of a nightmare
Hello darren,
Thank you so much again ! great review which really helps understand the drone which looks amazing... I am just not sure about the security as there are no sensors on the front (only downwards ?). What do you think? I have just registered for the Skypixel tryout program...
Have a good evening,
Theodore
WOW Darren! Never thought I'd be interested in an FPV drone but you make it sound SO tempting!!!!! I may reconsider but still enjoying my Mini 3!!! Thanks!
It’s soooo cool isn’t it ! Thanks for watching
Loved the review, this FPV drone looks so good, hat’s off once again to the DJI engineer’s 🔥👏👏
Thanks bro it’s so much fun, on my trip now and it’s size and weight is perfect for travelling and flying small gaps
I really enjoy your videos, thank you. Especially because i just got my new mini 3 pro. Had a lot of fun filming in the alps, would be great, if u have a look at my first drone shots. The dji avata seems to be even more fun flying, for now I fly some analog fpvs
DJI is out of stock on the manual controller ($200). I can't see using the autostick as my every day controller.
Available at other non-DJI UK outlets for £129-139
The best thing for me with the new goggles is the ability to focus them to suit my eyes, i can now see HD much more clearly than the previous DJI goggles V2.
I was really surprise how fast this was shipped as it arrived today, the mini 3 pro was a much longer wait even though I ordered at 5 minutes before launch on both drones..🤔🤔
Yes it’s great that people are getting this already, really impressed with the new goggles
@@DMProductions I’m not sold on the giant FPV bag DJI are offering separately as a storage solution for the Avata ( originally designed for their first FPV drone).
They even suggest this bag on their website as an Avata accessory..😵💫🤪
I’m amazed they haven’t come up with anything better at the time of launch of this drone,
DJI missed a trick there?!!..🤔😳
Does the dioptric knobs in the goggles will work for bad far and near sight (myopia)? don't see any space for those that need corrective eye glasses
Nice video, the only thing I saw missing was details about how noisy this drone is - so compared to other DJI drones, how loud is it please?
How easy and quickly to set it up and fly? Do i need to spin around to calibrate, turn it in with a loud annoying noise then set up the app etc like the older DJI drones?
I'd like to see a little clip you can use to hold your battery and maybe have it stay in place on the back of the strap. Just an idea instead of it being in your pocket all the time with this cable getting in the way for some. I can' wait to get mine! I hope after this full combo purchase I will be able to just buy the next future FPV and use my new goggles and controller. Just got the message my new Avata has shipped! So jagged! Thanks for the video!
Awesome the delivery for people has been so fast, yes I’m sure a clip will happen esp on the back of the headband would be perfect
Biggest drawback for me is, I would need someone to come out with me when I wanted to fly it! Sometimes I just love going out for a wonder by myself with the drone.
Great video dude? You explained some things that i haven't heard from other reviews. I'm getting one!!!
You will love it ! So much fun
Hey Darren, once the gopro hero 11 comes out...maybe cover it as an fpv tool. I noticed in this video your dji fpv has the action cam helmet that most of us use on out dji fpv drones. Cheers dude
Yes I use the hero 10 on my fpv but been happy with the camera quality of the Avata it’s def improvement 😊 I’ll def be picking up the hero 11
do you work for dji??? i ask as you never seem to have anything negative to say its obvious you get given all there products,,i just find your very easy to buy i used to enjoy your channel till i realised dji had you in there pocket,,,,,i dont trust your reviews
best review by far !
Thank you 🙏
Off topic but I was thinking now that the RC pro works with the mini 3 can we now live stream with it?
Amazing, I just haven't got the time to play with all these toys, it's great to be alive though...👍🏻🤣
Absolutely! Sure is !
batterys seem to come out when it crashes i watched stewart and alinas video about this drone signal seems to get blocked if the slightest thing gets in the way
Worried about those 2 issues as well.
Does this drone have a GPS like example DJ mini 2?
It's not overpriced. You can save money for a separate gopro because it has a superb post stabilisation with Gyroflow. If you buy a fpv drone with separate gopro, Googles and Controller you will pay more.
Very true 😊
You'r talking initial cost, now add in a saprw drone, six battery packs, and parts to fix your crashed drone. Can you even buy the parts for the Avata? What about upgrading....what does that cost? Oh wait, you can't.
@@metoo3918 I think it will save some money for beginners by those safety features. It will less likely to crash, less likely to lose. For beginners, they probably will brake/lose few DIY drones right ?? And for many non tech people DJI avatar definitely is easier to start with
One question i still have after seeing a lot of reviews is: Manual mode is only compatible with the 2stick controller? Or also with the motion controller?
Do we get that AR home point while using Goggles V2 with avata ? like the one we can see with Goggles 2 ?
Great review. Just ordered this little cracker to put with the rest of the fleet.
Good choice! It’s a awesome drone
Loved the intro ! Wow
appreciate it !
hi bro, does goggles2 support av in?
New ready-to-fly FPV and new goggles, very interesting new tech and innovation that DJI brings to the market every time.
Hi there. Is there no GPS on this like a normal drone?
I want one, thank you for all the great video's, you're the best
thank you so much
Not for me Darren, but great video. Speak soon. 👍
Will the Avata ever be compatible with the rc pro controller
Wow, that's a mad drone.. mind blown
Sure is ! It’s a lot of fun
I do not own the original FPV drone from DJI but I do want to use that controller rather than the stick for the new Avata. The stick is a novelty, it is short sighted of DJI to not offer the other controller as an option. It is currently the only thing holding me back! Is the original FPV controller available from DJI new by itself anywhere?
Hey yes you can buy the controller on its own click.dji.com/ADbMqOWUk1UPB2LSf0T_aA?pm=link
@@DMProductions sorry to bother you, but your link only goes to this drones DJI ordering page which does NOT have the regular controller listed anywhere to buy?
In short this is a great entry drone into FPV. None of the complexities of getting your brain to grips with acro and air mode nor learning to land in air mode without cutting your digits off. The goggles look great but I am still using the V1 goggles so they will not work with my air units. Great video 👍
Thank you appreciate it
you can do all crazy flips in manual mode :)
@@JasonSturgess yes the DJI way
@@JasonSturgess to an extent- it’s still very badly tuned, not enough P gain, lots of prop wash and I had it stall during an aggressive flat spin… but as a CINEWHOOP it does work really well and I agree with Darren’s point about the safety features being a major plus point.
Are you going to test and review Mini 2 V01.05.0000 firmware?
Good review and video Darren. My Avata is in the post on the way.
Ah perfect ! Any questions when you get it just ask
Very very nice product really 🔥 But it is too expensive. When i win lotto, then i buy it 😅🤷♂️
Would love to use those goggles on other DJI drones (Mini 3 Pro)
Watch this space …..👀
@@DMProductions do you think they’re going to enable it with a software update?
You can use magi mask it’s affordable and you can use in any drone that uses a phone, I have it, in this Chanel there’s a video on it, how clear and sharp is the image depends only on your phone.
Looks beginner-friendly to me with the safety features and a little less speed compared to the DJI FPV
You are Awesome Bro 👌
Thank you very much 😊
How googles 2 work with mini 3 pro?
This video was brilliant loved it ! Bought it !
nice one !!!
Hi Darren, I’d love to see you do something inside, how it performs in image quality & reception, also what about VLOS rules, having to have a spotter every time would be a pain & not practical. I’m very keen though & ready to buy via your link. I know if you have the A2 CofC as it’s under 500g the same rules apply as if it were the Mini 3 pro 249g. I’ll be interested on your comments on the above.
Thanks again for yet another great video
Hey you can join a fpv club in the uk which allows you to fly closer under article 16, if interested I’ll give you the website it’s about £19.99 for the year - this drone is awesome so much fun and makes it very easy to learn 😊
@@DMProductions yes please Darren that sounds great thanks
Would be interesting to hear how you learned to fly FPV in the first place - simulators (what, how, where), cheapo drone, etc?
Sure coming soon
Thank you sooooo much
You're welcome!
Why someone told me that the drone could be used with a smartphone too without the rc or SMC ?!
Awesome video, thanks! So the motion controller won't allow you to fly in manual mode and do the acrobatics?
Nope that’s a lot of fun and the easiest way of flying but no manual mode you need the rc
I am sure I will have one or the next version in the next few years. FPV is the next step after having the Mini 2 and then Mini 3 Pro. Looks like a lot of fun. Great video! Looking forward to seeing you put this new FPV through some interesting places.
Thank you it’s so much fun !
In the next few years, you probably won't even interested in any of the drones in today's skies. 😀
I was put off this drone after seeing “Ian in London’s” Avata video with terrible range, break ups and image quality in the UK. I Assumed the frequency or transmission power had been restricted for the EU market which was why the quality was rubbish compared to Billy Kyle’s US based Avata videos. Then I see yours! 👍🏻 So are you UK based?
Yes CE version mine, each location will have a different signal I’m doing a full test video coming
This drone should be $800 with everything. As it sits right now it is way over priced with what you get. If they make it Is backwards compatible with the dji old air units and vista units i would feel the price would be good at $1388. If they also add in there other drones like mavic air 2 and other dji drones then we would be getting a supper good value.
Does look like a lot of fun. Always been put off FPV because you have to build the damn things (i am not practical) but now i can just buy and fly... and then crash and then not have enough money to buy again. still getting one though :)
Haha DJI refresh will sort you out 😂
Out the fpv closet now ain't ya mate, perfectly timed , I changed my name big fan also following u on insta as a window company goto sort my social media out but been focusing on the flying and goto say the potataoe dji fpv kept me in the air also free sim , still fly the carbon altho I'm more time fixing n faffing about than flying . Smashing it , 💪
Meant your smashing it !
Haha I do love camera drones like the mavic and mini but flying the fpv is such a buzz isn’t it ! I think it’s due to the immersive feel love it !
Can it dive waterfalls?
I buy this drone I think.its good 👍😊
Darren just a quick question, notice on the other drones you usually fly 25fps, with the avata do you take this up to 50fps or the full 60fps?
As always, DJI drones are very polished, but the price is ridiculous for a Cinewhoop.
Well done brother, definitely a go to buy drone for me :)
Thank you 😊
Thanks for your review, but I don’t consider them reviews as you skip on negatives and your videos come across more as sales videos, not honest reviews. ‘The most fun with any drone’ - absolute tosh I have to say, flying 8 FPV drones. I agree it’s a good drone, but experienced FPV pilots have so many more options in terms of power, manoeuvreability, speed, resilience and shooting options. Drones without prop guards perform better than ones with, and this is a cinewhoop style drone, plus a little bit more.
I really want one Darren but how easy is it to fly kind of worried as ive never flown fpv before but it does look fun great video can't wait for some more from you and maybe some training videos on how to fly it cheers Darren 😁👍👌 🇬🇧
I thought the same around 6 months I didn't have a clue! the simulator and these drones having gps makes it easy to learn
@@DMProductions so, are you saying it took you “6 months” to get use to flying obviously your other DJI FpV drone?
Great video. One question I do have is have you struggled getting goggles/motion controller linking with virtual flight app? Goggles and controller are linked with drone but it doesn’t work for simulator it just says “waiting for goggles to connect” any ideas please?
Have you turned the drone off and then connected a cable from the goggles Usbc
Port to your phone ?
@@DMProductions thanks for reply. yes I’ve done that but in the goggles screen it just says “waiting to connect” I’ve tried everything even reinstalling firmware on drone, controller, goggles and still doesn’t work. When flying the drone in real time everything is working but for some reason won’t link for virtual app!?
Literally amazing 🤩
Sure is!! Thank you
Thanks Darren for the video. I think it is cool and all but I don't see myself buying one. I am too old for radical sports and such and the FPV experience of the Mini is enough for me :) Also, it is over the 250g limit so that will make it only useful if I were to explore out of the city. It seems a bit heavy to take with me on a trip as well and the 18 min battery life is another damper on it for me. In short, it looks like great fun and I would love to play with it for a while, but for now, I'll stick to the Mini 2 (looking to upgrade to the Mini 3 later this year). Great video, though, you made it even more exciting than the DJI promo videos!
Thank you for the kind words. I don’t know if you knew but If you did the a2cofc you can fly this in all the same places as the mini drones 😊 thanks for watching 🤜
@@DMProductions I did not know that but I will look into it! Thanks for the tip! I have been using my Mini2 with the smartphone inserted in goggles for FPV experience and I love it. However, it takes practice to fly and the propeller guards on that Avata, it surely makes it easier to use for tight spaces. Thanks
Brilliant review Darren I’ll have to get saving again more shifts.I purchased the eMax FPV trained on the simulator and fell out with it the only time I flew the eMax FPV was into a wall so that went on eBay but this is a different ball game.
It’s really good, I’m so happy I got into fpv, it was near impossible for me with time but thankfully these DJI fpv’s make it a lot easier, thank you for watching
So you can’t dive without the separate controller?
The motion controller doesn’t allow manual mode, you can dive but not as extreme as the rc controller
Excellent video. It looks like fabulous fun. Does anyone know of the Avata works with the DJI RC controller from the mini 3 pro?
No it does not
@@ferdi9697 Thanks. That’s a bummer!
Can you do all the same tricks and flips with the motion controller as with the regular fpv controller?
Nope you can’t
Just ordered mine! looking forward to trying it out. Is it true thou that in the UK you can only flying it 2km away from the home point?
Only :D by law only as for as you could see it
Currently in the UK the only places you can fly an FPV drone legally are at a flying club site, or well away from people and property with a competent observer, or indoors. The drone must always remain visual to the observer so that is a lot less than 2km.
Hope you love the drone I’m sure you will ! Get on the free simulator and get unlocking manual mode !🤜
Was the 0:58 shot made with the Avata? It looks crazy good, surely that's not shot with the stock camera on the avata?
All my shots are colour graded and shot in d-cine the camera is really good on this and a bump from the previous dji fpv 😊
I’m curious if it makes you dizzy or nauseous
Nah been great
Great video..have you tried to see if the new Avata goggles-2 will work with & link-up to your DJI FPV Drone..?
that would be nice if they did.🕹🚁👍
As of now the new goggles do not connect to the DJI FPV but it is really nice to fly the new Avata with the DJI FPV goggles. If you already have the DJI FPV then all you need is the Avata drone and maybe a couple extra batteries. Buy the new goggles later when the price goes down.
@@flightriot3454 Yeah..I don't think I will be buying the new Avata because for one thing my DJI FPV Drone has a faster top speed & the Avata has no external lights for flying in low light or night conditions for VLOS. & there's barely enough room on the Avata for a strobe👎 Great video.. Thanx for the reply....🕹🚁👍
On the goggles, can you focus each eyepiece in or out, so you don't have to wear glasses? Thanks!
Great review!
Yes you can it has a diopter adjuster 😊
@@DMProductions 👍
Question? May I ask what kind of connector is used to connect the goggles to the external battery? Is it USB A, C, or something else? I have larger external batteries, and it would be great if I could use them in addition to the smaller battery from DJI that powers the DJI goggles 2. Thank you. Great review.
USB C on the battery side
@@kodycheyne Thank you very much for that information.
Could you compare the older v2 goggles vs the new goggles 2? I'm wondering how the latancy & range compares as I think the goggles 2 might be more gimped within Europe due to the laws here. i.e. is there some quirk that actually means the v2 goggles makes more sense in europe
The older goggles have better range.
Darren do I need A2cofc to fly Avata please ??
You don’t but you can fly it in all the same places as the mini 3 is you do
@@DMProductions 50M from people I am reading?
not if you hold the a2 you can fly same as the mini 3 only exception is not over people, I passed mine with these guys courses.uavhub.com/courses/a2-cofc-fast-track?ref=cc78c1
Is it better then the out going fpv one? i bought the mini 3 pro today with the screen, but was really tempted as the fpv is on offer only £50 more then the pro 3, did i buy the right one? ive flown fpv once awhile ago in a large gym, scared the bejesus out of me, it was a octicopter that was very heavy and there was people around. it looks a lot of fun.
Both are great, I like the fpv and it’s more powerful but it’s big and bulky, this is perfect. Mini 3 is best for me but for fun and enjoyment the avata is great
@@DMProductions thanks for the reply, i might just buy the older fpv now as well.
the new googles have less range than the older one
Hello, can you please answer this? Can you share the feed with a second pair of goggles or a phone while you fly to share the experience with someone else?
Sure can 😊
Great features for beginners but not the price. Its way to high for someone just starting out
Hey
Great review. Do you think somebody who wears glasses can use the goggles or are the goggles too small to fit glasses?
Thank you , yes the new goggles have a diopter adjustment which is new and designed for people who wear glasses too
@@DMProductions my diopter exceeds what the googles are capable of so I would have to wear glasses if I purchased the Avata. I am assuming the size of the googles is such that glasses just will not fit.
Looks like I found the answer to my own question. According to the FAQ “Eyeglass frames are provided for free when you purchase DJI Goggles 2. If you need astigmatism correction or if the goggles’ diopter is unsuitable, you can purchase additional corrective lenses from an optical shop. Then, install the lenses to the eyeglass frames for usage.” So you can order lenses from VR-Wave and just install them into the goggles with the included eyeglass frame.
Thanks for the review. Can real-time videos from the goggle be view on the DJI fly phone app?
In the rotor riot review they have it playing on a phone too
@@DeniaLol Thank you.
Yes you can 😊
I know what I’m gonna spend my student finance on 😂
lol 😂 well it’s a learning experience FPV
Is it worth it 1200$ or more .this drone innovative I guess it's cool but it sure is ugly looking. Never flow a drone like that.looka beautiful fun .
Is the gimble fixed, or can you control it up and down ? This question is a deal breaker for me !
you can control it fully, massive range
Not sure about all the cables for
Headset and phone - no quick shots etc sure just a firmware upgrade
Looking to travel for the first time with my drone on a plane. How do you go about it?
I did a video on this if you want to check it out
What happens when the controller gets dropped...?
What like if you drop it ? The drone will just hover until you pick it up
@@DMProductions Impressive.👍
