Can the LYZRC L900 Drone Really Fly Well Over 1.8km? - Distance Telemetry Accurate or FAKE?

- G'day and Welcome back, the other night i stumbled across another channels video claiming that his LYZRC L900 drone easily got a distance of over 1.8kms yet did not show any REAL Proof by having camera footage on the drone. There is also another channel that claims 1.3km with no camera footage or google maps proof either! After watching these videos and seeing how random the telemetry was increasing and decreasing all over the place, i was very skeptical that these videos from other channels were just a misleading video and nothing but CLICK BAIT for views!
So in this video I tested my LYZRC L900 and attached a small camera to show you the True Maximum distance of this drone and how FAKE and INACCURATE the telemetry readings are on these cheap GPS drone. The same False distance readings happened to me last year with the EACHINE EX5 when it dropped from sky over the lake in this video • Eachine EX5 Wifi FPV A...
These Cheap drone companies should stop misleading people with fake distance readings on their telemetry displays just to sell drones to make out they can fly far when in reality they can only fly half the distance they claim!

Hi mate love the videos choose this drone from watching your videos, quick question I received the drone today and only flew inside and the left right forwards backwards seems super weak like barely moves compared to my £30 drones? That are super agile so I have a faulty drone or is this normal?
I haven't had this drone now for a while so cant remember some drones seems to have a slower pitch and roll to others, or maybe you had it in low speed rate?
Hi, I just purchased this Drone as my beginner unit and wanted to say first off thanks for the upload however I fail to see how poking an antenna of this frequency through plastic would help? Not to mention the orientation on both antenna are in the horizontal mode from factory. You just gave it an imbalance, meaning you now have a transmitting antenna vertically polarized and the receiving on horizontal a total mismatch. I would like very much to see how it preformed from factory. Thanks man.
Thanks for watching, I've had an increase in range on other toy grade quadcopters like this in the past by exposing the antenna, the one on this drone is horizontal and all you have to do is tilt the transmitter flat and forward to make that horizontal to match up with the drones antenna, I did not during this flight because I had to show the telemetry screen, in my previous test the drone didn't go as far as it did on this flight which was a total of around 800m when it flew over the river. On some other toy grades I've had an increase of a couple hundred metres flying range exposing antennas on the transmitter and the drone also. Its worth a try IMO
@@PERTHWESTOZRCplastic doesn't stop transmission in a messurable way imo but getting it a distance from the electronics might do the but job by cutting down on interferance... Just my thoughts on that thumbs up on that hands on video 😊
Just ordered this one and the remote will not connect to the drone...when i push the left stick up it would peep weird and pushing down will not peep at all and the 4th led is always red...what can i do?

Looking for a good beginner drone. I had the Eachine e58 but it wasnt that good and one of the motors went bad. Was wonder which do you think is better for the prices and judt better over all. Either the LYZRC L 900 or the JJRC x17. It has a decent price gap but im wondering if its worth the extra. A response would be much appreciated
Jjrc x17 is a much better drone than this L900, it has a much better camera and 2 axis gimbal also

Hello. I have some issues with the l900 pro drone. Whenever I use the drone with the app it seems that it cannot gain altitude. In fact it goes down in altitude if I dont hold the throttle down. But when I dont use it with the app, i.e just starting the drone and the controller and start flying, it works without any problems. The downside is that I cant use the camera nor the GPS. Do you know what the problem might be? Thanks.

Nice video Had this drone about 18 mths biggest draw backs are not range
but latency and video quality could suggest a cheapish drone with not bad
video quality and that can be reliably use FPV or should I look at 2nd hand
mavic mini at a little higher price.

I was about 70 ft in distance from the drone and couldn't get the drone to respond to the control....do you know why?

My Drone is a L900 and I do the Calibration on it But when I get it ready for Take of it does Not take off
instead it just goes off to the side and crashes when its meant to take of and HOVER but it Doesnt do that
like I said goes and crashes

Are you using it inhoude? It needs a gps connection for reliability i think, same happened to me when using it in house

Nice job testing and exposing this. This is a new low for the toy grade drone category... exaggerating camera quality is one thing... programming the transmitters and applications to show fake distance number is another.
Thanks John, when i stumbled across other channels claiming 1.8kms plus i thought that was not correct at all and more than likely click bait videos, so decided to test it out myself and i am not surprised at all, there are a few brands and models of drones out on the market now in this price range that fake their stated claims of distance and camera specs as you know.

For a drone that lacks the ADVANCED technologies, it's an awesome drone. Has a professional flight performance in my opinion.

Yes it seems a few of these budget god drone manufacturers are programming the transmitters and even the apps to read false distances to coincide with their fake distance claims on their online listing specs. This drone has a limit of about 600m at best, that is what I got on my wifi FPV distance range test on this same drone earlier in the year. Thanks for watching Ryan 👍

I would love to find a good-priced wifi camera like the one on top of the drone. Something that can broadcast at least 300 meters to my phone. If anyone can give me an idea please let me know. -Peter
Hello! I really loved this video and it is sad that its a lie, its an amazing drone for the price, but this telemetry is not reliable.
But, can you make a review of the 4DRC F12? It claims that it has 2-3km fpv, and the rc controller has a telemetry, and I am planning to buy this drone, it is almost the same price as the LYZRC L900 with one battery, brushless and GPS, could be legit, because its from 4DRC, its a well known drone company but I would love a video to fully confirm this.

I think you have done range tests there before, i remember that spot with the water on the right
Yep spot on Bryan, i usually go here for all my range tests with these GPS Drones
the rx drone app loses contact with the aircraft very close also and at close range the aircraft does not obey commands circle follow with etc tks
The RX drone app is the problem

I noticed on my flight the return seems very fast like it's a jet very strange the only drone I have that fly's back very fast it did well on the range test for what it is to be fair for a cheap drone great test ✈️✈️😁👍
Yes but these companies shouldn't BS with the telemetry to make you think you have a drone that can fly a far distance when it does not. A lot of people look at the range of a drone before they buy it, thanks for watching Matt

How did i get the distance? i just flew it to its limit
The telemetry on my drone is wrong it will show 500 meters when it has only gone around 300 meters.
This same L900 drone or a different one? There are a few cheap drones that do this

Original camera lost connet abaut 350 meter- 500meter only.
I convert antena for camera and remote control can over distance about 1km cemera. And distance drone about 2km

I did say 1124m though! but the distance is false anyways cause this company messed witht he software to try fool people thinking they are going further than the drone really does. I have tested a few drones like this with fake telemetry readings, even on the apps they run on as well. All I am interested in is dubunking these fake claims and get the true distance from google maps! 👍 Cheers for watching mate
I think the wind took it over the water
More than likely the wind had a part to play with it as it was weird how it yaw's to the right once it hit 500m, i certainly didn't touch the yaw stick at all, was only pitching forward the whole time 😆
@@PERTHWESTOZRCits probably the programming of the gps bit, i noticed mine going to a weird spot(very close to a lamppost) before heading to the landing site wich in my case was spot on.
On a different note i think manufacturer had feet in their mind for max range for their product while Sales must have felt meters sell better🙃

Your antena installation is tricky. Not an objective judgement. Remember that it's a low budget drone, a toy.
There is nothing tricky about the way i exposed the antenna. Also i think you missed the whole point of this video, it is to prove other youtube channels that have claimed to have gotten 1.8kms (1800+ metres) distance is false.
