McLaren F1 GTR Longtail 6.0 V12 Sound!

- Finally, after all these years of filming cars, today was the day I saw a McLaren F1 GTR in action for the very first time!
It's a 1997 Longtail version. To be more specific, it's the 26R (26/28) chassis that finished 3rd in the 1997 24 Hours of Le Mans.
This legendary race car is powered by a 6.0 litre naturally aspirated V12 engine, built by BMW.
The car is currently owned by BMW Germany. They were kind enough to make it available for display during the 2018 Historic Grand Prix in Zandvoort (The Netherlands).

Maybe the only thing that can top that V12 sound of the F1 GTR is that straight 6 scream of the BMW M1 Procar. Still both my ultimate dream race machines as I’m a BMW fanatic for life.
What about the E46 M3 GTR? The 3.0 CSL Racecar has one of the best sounds as well in my opinion
@@boonamai8926 also the 3.0 CSL without restrictor plate and last special head from M for the maximum output power from this engine, there is no other car manufacturer doing so iconic engines they have more respect than the bigger names like all motosport oriented brands Ferrari, McLaren.... etc.

McLaren
F1 got the power and sound, but CLK GTR got the aesthetics. The look of the mercedes is so damn gorgeous, to me looks much more aggresive than the mclaren.

LOL! The car at 03:53 is the 1999 BMW V12 LMR. It's a Le Mans Prototype which actually has the same engine as the McLaren F1 GTR.
Fact: There were only 2 examples made of this car!

yes the ps1 version. the pc version has the f1 LM road car version. im a longtail man myself.

@@Fox4251 yeah in the pc version the cars just dont look right kinda like how the cars in test drive 6 are. except those are abominations compared to pc version of nfs. the 911, F50 and diablo look wayyyy nicer on ps1 which has way worse resolution than the pc counterpart.

On the left you see the 1999 BMW V12 LMR (Le Mans winning car). It has the same engine as the McLaren F1 GTR. The car in the middle is a 1979 BMW M1 Procar
