You can calibrate photoshop to the size of your monitor so that it shows you 1 inch. Like that you dont have to find those zoom numbers for every refrence , you can just click zoom to "print size" and it will always be 1:1 for every refrence .

Great to see a video from you again Shelly!! Thanks for sharing!
You toned your canvas green, do you use acrylic or diluted oil paint? Is it the terra verte?

Hi Astrid. Thank you. I used oil paint for this one. Often I work on oil primed surface so has to be toned with oils. Yes it is terra vert mixed with raw umber I believe. 🙏🏻🎨

Hi Han. I opened the ref image with the camera raw filter located in filters tab. Then I used the sliders in basic tab to adjust the lighting to how I wanted it. I also placed a light vignette over the image. I wanted dramatic lighting for my painting. 😀

Also you may be asking how I sampled the tef image colors. I use the eye dropper tool to check colors in different areas throughout the ref image. In the edit tab you can make the white palette for placing the colored circles. Select canvas size. Click to width arrows point only to the right side. Add a few inches in white. Now you will have a olace to put colors. Hit control B to place color.
