I luved what laurence did with his voice, its great!! where he goes softer! im so pleased laurencegot in, i was supporting him from the begining!!! Welldone you three, an well dne to all the other non olivers, they were all fantastic!!!
omg, its so obvious why harry & laurence won, all you have to do is look into their eyes whilst they sing, wow, thats amazing, makes me want to burst into tears!
With laurence it luks so natural, wen he sings, an sounds so nice, im so so pleasedhe got the role! an gwion is great, an harry is very good to, welldone you three, fab decision!!
im sorry but i think this solo really proved that they chose the right olivers, the chosen three looked natural on stage and gave a brillant performance, im not saying that olivers like jonny and chester werent good but the're expressions looked daunted so pleased for laurence and harry
I reckon being wooden implies someone attempting to fake an emotion whereas being expressionless implies that the emotion is going on inside and can be heard in the voice yet the face has no expression. Think Laurence perfected the latter perfectly.
(CONT FROM HARRY) his voice is also amazing and this really shows of the fact he CAN sing!! Jonny - amazing, his acting skills blew me away just as much as harrys! aww... watching him just makes me want to cry, and im not even a "jonny fan" or whatever there call them nowadays! ;) Laurence - im actually speachless, that was beautiful! the emotion he put into them words "sweet hello" ahhh, im actually crying! AMAZING Alex - beautiful but a tiny bit too strong, still fantastic!
i haven't watched any IDA videos in blemming ages, ahhh, right... im going to give my view and not be biast whatsoever! *AHEM* Arthur - oh wow, he did actually sing that really well! he looks a bit frightened though, unless thats him acting out Oliver, seeing as Oliver is supposed to be frightened its hard to tell... Chester - amazing! a year on and im still confused as the why he didn't get the flipping part :(
Exactly what i think!! laurence is fantastic in this, an harry to!! an ofcourse gwion never seems to b daunted by anything, i think it was the right desision!!
Yeah I do see what you mean but I think they could have trained the nervous ones by the time december came round. But then again I dont think they wanted Chester specifically because of his star quality, I mean Oliver was slightly dull, dodger was probably the one with the most character. I hate to say it but maybe the right ones were probeably chosen as far as casting the role goes. I'm just glad that Chester is gonna be famous and get the part of Gavroche anyway!
hahaha, i think it was his moment at acting like the queen ;) omg, someone said this as a caption "as you can see harrys attempts to pat gwion on the head were rather off... otherside of the stage love" LOL
Kwayedza - i actually adore him, he has an amazing voice, sadly its too deep but he would make an awesome Simba in the Lion King! Gwion - hm... i never really understood why he got the part but he is mega cute, and his voice seems really strong here! Harry - WOW! im trying not to be biast but its so hard cause he's so talented! right... his expressions are amazing, even when he's rying to be "blank" as thats what he's trying to do, obviously, but anyway...he plays vulnerability so well!...
hHA ahh do you knwo whos been offered a part as part of teh fagins gang?!!?!? ahh am soo happy that it will be rowan atkinson too:D gutted for cehster jonny nd alex...they were my favs :D but good luck to them in future! xxxxxxxxx
The people that sang the best n this mission were... Chester, Harry , Laurence/Jonny so they should hAVE GOT oliver and my personal 3 faves are Harry, Chester and Alex
I think you are right. Chester could have easliy played Oliver brilliantly but think he will make a great Gavroche, its a brilliant part for a young boy and Les Mis prob has more credibility than Oliver anyway. I think being wooden and being expressionless are entirely different things, Jonny was wooden at times. Laurence is fantastic in this, its quite a shock. Would like him to be the Oliver that I see, he will have me in tears. Chester will be a lead anytime soon so dont worry people.
I dont think that those they chose were necessarily the best at singing, acting or dancing. They were chose because they are consistent every week, dont usually wobble and that is what is needed for Oliver. Chester was the best.
Maybe they thought he was too nice and not the the rough and tumble boy they wanted. Which I disagree with because Oliver isnt meant to be like that, Dodger is and I reckon he could have acted that anyway. Thats the only reason I can think of because he was the best actor, singer and performer on the show. Better than the Nancy's.
I agree that Jonny is has come across as a bit wooden in his performances! I also see what xxxnaomihannaxxx means about Oliver not having to be that expressive. However (please don't kill me you hundreds of Jonny fans) across all of the Oliver performances alot of the Olivers have stood out more than Jonny IMO and been better. Also Jonny is 13 and in 6 months time his voice could have broken and he could have shot up in height... overall I can see why the three that were chosen were chosen.
the judges should have read all of our comments....we're the ones who'll be paying for tickets to see the show!!!! It seems everyone agrees-me included-that Chester should have got the part.....I mean come on, look who they chose???? pathetic!!!! Gwion can't even put on a remotely English accent!!!! Well I'm not going to see the show
I cudnt disagree any more, the olivers they chose, where the best, anf you hav 2 agree, i mean for christsake its "Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber" and "Sir Cammeron Macintosh" I think they no what they r talking about!!!
Honestly, looking at the three with a critical eye, the choices were not terribly good. Lawrence is by far the least of the boys. CHester really should. If he's doing Gavroche, that's ok. Hopefully that's true.
GWION WON WHICH IS AWESOME but i am soooo sad y nooo chester...chester....CHESTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO there are tears from my eyes >:| why didnt CHESTER win he shouldve won its rigged!!! it should've been GWION CHESTER AND JONNY!!!
Gwion is the best Oliver ever. He worked so hard to be where he needs to be
Gwion was my favorite right from the get go. I'm really sad Chester didn't get it though. He was my second favorite.
I luved what laurence did with his voice, its great!! where he goes softer! im so pleased laurencegot in, i was supporting him from the begining!!! Welldone you three, an well dne to all the other non olivers, they were all fantastic!!!
I'm stunned that Chester isn't part of the top three o.O I thought him all the way through the competition the best singer...
omg, its so obvious why harry & laurence won, all you have to do is look into their eyes whilst they sing, wow, thats amazing, makes me want to burst into tears!

Also Laurence really surprised me here, he has got the emotion and he probably sang it the best going on this small snippet.
he did, i saw him a few weeks back
luvly, beautiful voice
I feel like Harry was at an unfair advantage since he played Michael in the original West End cast of Mary Poppins
I loved Chester, but all of them were so talented, I really can't say there was one that DIDN'T deserve the part.
(CONT FROM HARRY)
his voice is also amazing and this really shows of the fact he CAN sing!!

I like Aurthur and Jonny!
Very true, do you know whether he baan asked to audition for Gavroche for september? or was the whole thing just a big rumour.
Chester soooo should have one! If it was public vote he was well through! I lik Gwion though.
Exactly what i think!! laurence is fantastic in this, an harry to!! an ofcourse gwion never seems to b daunted by anything, i think it was the right desision!!
I Love Jonny

Do you have them in the full play of oliver
o m g if you press the audio preview button instead of clicking post comment, somebody says the comment you have just wrote
I would have chosen Gwion, Chester and Jonny. With Artur, Alex and Lawrence being close. And Jordan would have been a good Dodger!
Gwion seems like the perfect "Oliver" because he has a natural cockney like accent
hahaha, i think it was his moment at acting like the queen ;)
omg, someone said this as a caption
"as you can see harrys attempts to pat gwion on the head were rather off... otherside of the stage love"
LOL

yeah but Spennooo. oliver isnt supposed to be very expressive, it says it on this vid ^^
@pinkpwincess2007 You didn't understand why Gwion got the part, but then you listed the reasons why lol.
hHA ahh do you knwo whos been offered a part as part of teh fagins gang?!!?!?

laurence was the best at this!! i hope i see him, !! but i liked them all realy!
Gwion you have to be safe love love me too love love miss love
Oh apart from I think perhaps I would have chosen Chester instead of Gwion.
i wanted jonny and alex to be oliver

That was meant to be weren
@molly963100 I'd do anything
Should've been Chester, Laurence, and Alexander.
Better than the Nancy's.
chester is sugar's boy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
God sorry, it was meant to be 'they werent necessarily the best'.
Laurence was the best!!!

better than gwion and harry
