I did a quick Google search on the plot for the Petz: Dogz 2 and Catz 2 plot, and yeah, you go on an adventure to stop Ivlet the wolf from causing chaos on the island and taking over the world. I think the corruptions made this even better!
It was also surreal hearing the music in this game because now I know where izzzyzzz gets her background music from!
The buildup in the Def Jam corruption to the very end was incredible to see in real time, just a constantly ramping set of events that resolves in a very satisfactory way.
Truly a work of art, I feel blessed to have watched it unfold

unironically petz 2 is a pretty fun game. has some really good songs in the ost as well. for some reason the game is like pokemon where theres two versions: one with dogs and one with cats lmao. otherwise identical.
Petz Catz/Dogz 2 was my childhood. I loved running around as a cat. I loved even more fighting the dragon. I replayed that boss so many times.

the crazy things with Petz Dogz 2 is that it uses the same engine(and has the same devs) as the game "The DOG island" which has a story that gets far more serious than you would expect for a game about pictures of dogs with big noses on a calendar.
that is not a joke "The DOG" was a calendar series in Japan with close up photos of dogs,
making their noses look real big and people found it real cute. somehow that eventually led to it getting a game.
and the devs werent done with their story telling style or their game engine. its REAL wacky stuff.
You just unlocked some hidden memories. Back around in 2004-2005 I had these raised stickers of those fisheye lens dogs. Can't remember where I got them from, but this was in Turkey, so I was surprised to read that this was a Japan thing. I have a feeling the stickers were fuzzy in some areas to simulate fur. I looked it up but can't find them online. Thank you for reminding me of it lol

I feel like I should probably explain something about confederate flags. Speaking as a southerner, confederate flags have always been seen as a pro-slavery hate symbol. BUT, in the 1970’s (when Dukes of hazard came out) the confederate flag was kinda in a weird spot meaning wise. Most still believed it to be a hate symbol but many simply thought it was a flag representing the south (a good example would be the first Chuck E Cheese which had confederate flags hanging from the ceiling because it was in Texas) so i’m not entirely sure whether the creators of the show knew the true meaning.
