Steam Summer sale 2022 is here and it is full of amazing discounts on amazing games like skyrim Standard edition, skiyrm Enhanced or even skyrim Anniversary. But today we will be showcasing an ongoing steam exploit that allows you to generate Unlimited free steam keys! To be accurate it allows the generation of infinite +1 copies of the game Flock! This exploit in particular might work on other classic games but who cares now as you have access to endless copies of a UFO based sheep herding game!!!
So Today The Spiffing brit once and for all discovers if the Steam Summer Sale is perfectly balanced or if perhaps Valve have gone too far and printing infinite steam keys and giving out free games might be a slight oversight on their end!

It appears to be unforgiving work, and not nearly what you envisioned when you came up with the idea for many. Myself included, but only at the academic stage, I don't claim to be any industry professional.

1: Pays better
2: Less hours / crunch
3: Happier management / people in general.
I very very briefly started working in games and very quickly moved over to coding online learning environments and software because of the above things. Making games is joyless.

Tangentially related: It has pretty much been confirmed that the devs of Kerbal Space Program go pale whenever a new Danny video comes out. In case you don't know the saga, he is about as good at breaking KSP specifically, as Spiff is at exploiting games.

This is one of the oldest tricks on Steam. People were buying expensive games on Steam that had a CD key, then refunded then sell the games on G2A, that's why G2A has a bad reputation of stolen games. In addition, there were dedicated bot accounts doing this, all automatically. I think this was going for a few years by now...
I mean it's not really as crazy as he's making it out, you can only refund so many games on steam before being put on cooldown, and if you have the time on your hands to make dozens of emails and steam accounts, then steam probably feels too bad for you to do anything about it
A lot of games don't re-generate a key, and just display the key you entered initially.
@@Rubafix989 Paladin is not talking the second key generation, simply the first key. People create bots that create multiple accounts, that would buy the games, copy the cd keys, refund and do it all over again until the account gets locked, but it doesn't matter because the bot probably has other 500 accounts up and running at the same time. These collected keys would then be sold on grey market sites like G2A. You can clearly see 'It's just 5/10 dollars' becomes a lot more quite fast

I am from Dundee and once went on a tour of Proper Games studio as part of a high-school computing competition. They had an outrageous plan for this game that was gonna go huge and they were super hyped for it...but sadly I don't think it ever even got made. RIP Proper Games

They patched it already by denying re-funds of Flock. Someone at the Steam HQ must have the bell rung for Spif's channel.
Edit: I don't know what's going on with Flock but it works with some other games still. Must be because it takes time to process the re-funds especially now that hundreds of people are trying it or because the Flocks that have been re-funded were the first to request it. Spore and Age of Empires 3 are some examples that still work to the best of my limited knowledge.
Edit 2: Doesn't work with any new purchase now. Effectively making it impossible to do this exploit wholesale.
Edit 3: Flock has been removed from Steam. This is a Capcom L.

@@handson4580 Lmfao, you really think that warrants, Gabens underlings to email him, or waste his time, when they essentially work for him, on his behalf.
There is a chain of command as it is, Steam doesn't need Gaben to "Greenlight" a simple decision as to stop a glitch, especially when its costing steam money, and a no brainer.
The impact isn't that big as it is, worst case, was a couple thousand dollars in total id wager. Hardly tens of thousands, and certainly not in the hundreds of thousands.
Steam makes more than a thousand dollars a minute, let alone id wager a second.
Digital keys are infinite anyway, game has been made, no cost from a physical standpoint, especially since a singleplayer game, and company is long gone anyway.
All in all, they would have acted, pretty quick, already procedures and such in place. Gaben is still on final fantasy MMO with his son, CEO standpoint, a glitch is below him, would be a brief mention at the next meeting, or a simple email. Even the sheer mention, would be in brushed off tone, to say they hardly care. And now, they are aware, so they'll put procedures in place lmfao.
Plus they could even trace back, and revert peoples accounts.

@@starcrest4486 This exploit isn't even hard to figure out as games often display their key on first opening them. Even without it always being another one, you'd assume that they might survive a refund if Valve doesn't revoke the license even w/o them differing from the og key.
As another comment put it: selling keys to a refunded game on G2A and such is as old as Steam refunds or credit card theft.

I can almost guarantee that somebody at Steam (and possibly many large development studios) has a notification when you upload just to stop you from breaking their services. They already fixed it I guess.

Beware: Steam limits activation attempts. And considers them purchase attempts which Steam also rate limits. It might be better getting on to Spiff's discord and getting keys there than trying ones posted here.

Sadly the Flockchain was broken straight away when the first person didn't post their new key. Ideally there should have been a comment where you could only comment your key and anything else was deleted then as long as no one spoilt the fun it could keep going easier

it is mostly for older games that used cd's so these days nobody would care. Most of those games everybody already played into obilivion anyways.

Really dumb move in my opinion, because this free advertising would have got them a lot of legit sales. Instead they are completely abandoning ship, which is stupid, because if someone wanted the game for free they could just pirate it anyway. They're just throwing away their chance to get thousands of dollars from honest supporters.
Does that prevent people from getting it for free ? I mean, when a game is taken down you can still activate keys bought elsewhere, and if you already have it it doesn't disappear so you can still share the key.

Well, unlimited keys isn't a new thing. Dawn of War 1 did a shortcut for allowing people to redeem their physical disk copies into steam. Namely, any of their CD keys are valid for steam, including the one you get when you redeem the game... so you can then use that to redeem the game elsewhere, which gives you a CD key that you can use to redeem the game elsewhere, which... you get the idea.
No fucking shit it isn't new. Lmao it only works for games that are like 10 years old.
The whole physical keys being valid on Steam works with a LOT of games it just has to have a Steam Page more or less, however if the game has a remaster only that's on Steam it doesn't work as they're technically not the same game.

Man i saw you type Flock and I was all ready for The Flock, that game with a global death counter that was dead on arrival for a bunch of reasons I won't get into, and was semi-excited it might finally see a revival (because it is fun despite the glaring design choices that led to it's death).

When the counter hit zero the game was going to be delisted from Steam and the game was going to get some kind of very special update, devs never quite elaborated on this. Biggest thing that killed it was the implication said update would make the game as it is entirely unplayable. Wait I think Driver San Francisco a game that was pulled from steam due to music licences has this feature. I know because I own a copy of it from before it was removed and it's gives me a key. This could be a way for people to still get the game despite it being unavailable.
As a game I spent hours of my day playing back in the day, i'd love to have the experience again, if possible and if it does work could you send me the key and I'll continue the chain from there? Not sure if youtube has any way to private contact.

i think the driver sf key you get when you go to view cd keys is a ubisoft key that cant be activated on steam
